Paper Players 309

I need a nap! LOL! Thank god that Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me yesterday! I would have never gotten all of that Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh checked in and entered! The Partial Die Cutting Class was so much fun! I love showing people new things to add to their crafting arsenal! My buddy Melissa stayed behind after the night class to help me straighten up. We left around 8:30. When I got home I had a bunch more stuff to do and there is still more to be done today! But tonight is Thirsty Thursday and I get to see my peeps! Oh, and have a nice glass of whine! YAY! Let’s see, I have my store, my peeps and all of you! I’m one lucky guy wouldn’t you say?! 😀

My little bit of creativity that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge from my friend Sandy…

Paper Players #309

She just happened to stop by the store while I watercoloring my ice pops the other day so she got a sneak peek at the card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with the front covered in a piece of Cyber Grape. I stamped the stripes onto a piece of Ballerina Pink with the Concord & 9th Stripe Builder Photopolymer Stamp in some Cotton Candy Crisp Ink. Before I adhered it to the card I cut out the word sweet with the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies. My ice pops are from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored them with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. They are cut out using one of the other dies from the Sweet & Cool Die Set and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I stamped the rest of the greeting in Deep Iris Crisp Ink and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Gold Sequins around the pops to finish the card! Love that Sweet & Cool Stamp & Die set! It’s makes for a nice fun birthday card don’t you think?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for sharing in my day! Have a absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

  1. Yumm your watercolor ice pops look de-lish, Justin! I love the vibrant colors. Thanks for playing along with my challenge 🙂

  2. What a “sweet” card! Seriously! And as you wrote, yes you are a lucky guy – and we are lucky to have you sharing it all with us!

  3. What a sweet and refreshing card! The colors are so summery. Makes me want to lick my computer monitor! Yum!
As for partial die cuts, that’s what I thought you meant. I can’t wait to see you do a card for us with that technique. Yes, I can just hear the whining with the wining…
Well, I’m off to my monthly pedicure soon. The cortisone shots in my back and hip are doing the trick right now, so that’s good news. Hi, Grace! I have zippered, thermal bags for my groceries and they do the trick as I have almost a half hour trip home from doing the shopping. Stay cool, everyone. We know that Justin is always Cool! Have a righteously Terrific Thursday! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Hi Nancy – I too have the thermal bags but I also have the half hour trip from the grocery store and because the trunk gets so hot I put the ice cream inside the car where I have the A/C. So glad to hear you are pain free.

    2. Thank you so much Nancy! LOL! I think that the actual ice pop would taste better! LOL!
I have done some cards in the past with Partial Die Cutting but will do one again soon. I’m glad that the cortisone shots are doing their job! Aww, thanks, I try to be as cool as I can! Hope that you had a fun day my friend! Hugs to you! 🙂

  4. I agree with the others that this is a very sweet card. I really like all the bright colors of the pops, the beautiful sequins and the greeting with the oversized “sweet”. Your stamped background makes a nice base for the card. Of course, I thought it was DSP. Have a great day.

    1. Thank you HJ! I love that fun Strip Builder Stamp! And watercoloring the pops was fun! Hope that you had a fantastic day! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin:

I just know we mentally connected yesterday because I bought ice pops as well as ice cream and I never buy them. I did this time because Tracy is coming and she is lactose intolerant! LOL I just love this card. It’s a fun, bright and cheery birthday card that would be perfect for the great nieces and nephews. In addition to male birthday cards I sometimes struggle with the cards for the kids. This is just perfect! You seem to have sequins in just about every single color there is. Soooooooo cool.

Lots of surprise company coming today. By surprise I mean they called this morning and are on their way as I type. So I had to put some muffins into the oven and get them baked so I have something to serve. Fortunately I have some fresh blueberries so that is what I made. Gotta run. You enjoy your Thirsty Thursday my friend, you have certainly earned a night off. Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hey Grace!
Ha! Look at that! That was nice of you to pick up some pops for Tracy! It would definitely make a good kid card! I do have sequins in almost ever color and am about to get some more! LOL!
That nice that they call first and very nice that you will have homemade muffins with fresh blueberries for them! Hope you had fun with your company! I really enjoyed Thirsty Thursday! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  6. Love those bright coloured ice pops Justin – good enough to eat on a hot and humid day like we’re having in the UK at the moment. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!

    1. Thank you very much Joanne! Yes, my Aunt said that it is very humid by you! Unusual for this time of year! Stay cool! 🙂

  7. Cute! Perfect for a hot summer night. I need more then a nap, so glad its Friday in less then 3 hours!

    1. Thanks Linda! Yup, it was actually a really nice evening here yesterday! I’m glad that it’s Friday too, not that it means that much for ma anymore! 🙂
