Freshly Made Sketches 252

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day, nice and sunny and not too hot! The second wave of MISTI’s arrived at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning and our friends Elyse and Nancy stopped by in the afternoon! I finished my cards for this month’s Card Class and will post a picture on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Instagram and Facebook pages tomorrow! I also played with my Crystal Katana Tool and I love it!! Dinner last night with my Parents was tacos! Yum! After dinner I came home and crafted for bit and then Taylor stopped by. We ran to Target to get a few “necessities” and then I just chilled for the rest of the evening. Today I want to see if I can get things set up for this week’s Magic of Vellum Class. We are closed tomorrow and Monday, yay for two days off in a row!

Before we get to today’s card I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! For this week’s Freshly Made Sketchesย challenge I made a super clean and simple card to share with youย …

Freshly Made Sketches 252

The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom is a strip of White Gold Curious Metallic. I heat embossed the flower and leaves from the Altenew Magnolias for Her Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder onto some Aches 140lb Watercolor Paper. They are colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a #4 Silver Brush. After they had dried I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner Adhesive and the flower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black and also heat embossed with Clear. A few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins add a little sparkle and complete the card! I played around with the watercoloring, adding some layers after it had dried and I love the effect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for spending some of your Saturday with me! Have an absolutely awesome day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. That is definitely a beautiful CAS card. Love the color of the flower, the sweet sentiment and the sequins. Have a great day and a wonderful 2-day weekend. Yay for you!!

  2. Hi Justin!

What is a Crystal Katana tool? When I first saw this card my thought was – what a perfect way to present a gift card! Then I thought – Wait a minute, this is way too pretty to use a gift card holder, much better with a beautifully wrapped gift itself. Anyway, I love it and I really liked the sketch it was done with.

It’s a fantastic day out there again today. Bright, sunny, cool and with a beautiful blue sky and white puffy clouds. I hope this weather holds out with your two days off. Especially Monday so you can get into Manhattan. You must be itching to go. That is one thing I miss about CT. I used to be able to hop on the train in the morning, shop in Manhattan all afternoon and be home in time for a late dinner. I really miss that. So, if you do get to Manhattan on Monday, enjoy it enough for both of us. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
A Crystal Katana Tool is used to pick ups Sequins, Rhinestones and other small embellishments and place them on your project! I love it! Glad that you like the card!
I’m glad that the weather is more agreeable for you! It’s a little chilly here at night! I have been really wanting to go into the city but it didn’t happen. I’ll have to go one night after work. Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Great card. I just watched a YouTube video for that Crystal Katana tool. Wow. You are such an enabler. Thanks.

    1. Thanks Linda! LOL! I don’t think that I have ever been called that before! It’s a great tool! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Simple, yet very elegant. I have done some online shopping, taking advantage of LD sales and bought the Altnew tulip stamp set finally. I’m so excited. i’m afraid to read about the Cystal Katana tool, LOL.

Each year I make my kids who are away at college a University themed card and I make a care package. This year I only had to make two and I procrastinated. As i finished everything for my son at Northwestern, low and behold he walked n the front door. “I’m hungry and bored, nothing going on in the city until tonight” LOL, i guess they really never leave. But, I saved 20 bucks because he is taking his package with him.

    Dinner made, Mojo please come

    1. Thanks Linda! I love that Tulip Set! Ha! The Crystal Katana is my new favorite tool!
That’s really nice of you to make the cards and care packages! So good that he will be able to take it with him! You can use that $20 towards your new Crystal Katana! LOL! Hope that Mojo visited you! ๐Ÿ™‚
