Mojo Monday 464

Happy Labor Day my friends! I had a relaxing and fun day yesterday! I got up very late, 10:00AM, did some computer stuff, took a shower and went over to spend some time with my friend Kim and the kiddies. After that I came home and made my card for today. I still love crafting in the Stampin’ Galley and with two days off I got to unpack most of the stuff that I lug back and forth to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store everyday! My Parents went over to my Brother’s to see the kids and I went over to Heather’s to help her get ready for a wedding that she and George went to. From there I ran a few errands and then came home and relaxed. I had a Lean Cuisine for dinner and around 10:30 I headed out to pick up Heather and Geroge. Today I was planning on going into Manhattan but I have had a headache for the past two days, I think it’s alleges, so I started taking Claritin to see if that helps. I think that I will stay in and have a crafty day instead!

Its Monday and you know what that means! It’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo464

I had picked up this 12×12 Paper Pad a while ago and have been meaning to use it so I did just that on today’s card! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut up some of the paper from the DCWV Minty Lace 12×12 Paper Pad and used them for my background layers. The really cool black one with the holographic foil is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is another piece of paper cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I used some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhere it to the card. My flower is a combination of dies from the Spellbinders Makers Mart Monthly Kits. I cut the flower out of Solar White 80lb and Vellum with the center cut form Black 110lb. The leaves are cut from part of the 12×12 Paper and they are adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb with the right side flagged. I tucked it under the flower and added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really love that Paper Pad, especially the holographic text sheet! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fantastic cards and let’s see your take on the sketch by entering your card into the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your Monday off here! Have a fun and safe Labor Day! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin,
Wow!! Love what you did with this sketch!! The mint and black are so cool together. The flower is a perfect touch. And of course, the sequins perfectly placed. LOVE IT!!

  2. Good Morning Justin!

You did an amazing job with what I would consider a rather difficult sketch to base a card on. Although I do love the holographic paper I think the brilliance of your design lies in the placement of the flower. The flower brings everything else together. Just beautiful!

Good idea to stay home and have a crafty day. I can’t remember the last time you actually did that. Although I know you miss Manhattan there are times when you need to just chill and do next to nothing for a day. Kind of like plugging in the cell phone and letting it recharge. I think that the headache is your body telling you to slow down for a few days. Enough of my advice! I am no medical genius! LOL

I expect it will be a quiet day here today. Surprisingly we did not have out-of-state visitors for the holiday weekend. I got all the fall decorations up. I love how colorful the cabin looks with all the reds, yellows, oranges, etc. Now onto beginning to stock the freezer. I am getting itchy to visit my girls and friends in October so I need to keep busy and help the weeks pass quickly. You relax today and let that headache slip away. Have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend. Love & Hugs, XXOO 🙂

Yes, I needed to get caught up, but I never get as much done as I want to! I wanted to go in and see Anna, I never get the chance to do so anymore. I did need a little recharge, I think I’m good now!
Glad that you got all of your decorations done and that you got to have a quite weekend! Your trip sounds like it will be loads of fun! Don’t wish me into Winter so quickly! LOL! Hope your day was super! Love and hugs! XOXO 🙂

  3. I love your card, Justin. What a beautiful take on the sketch. The color combo is very pretty and the flower really makes it all pop. I hope the Clariton has worked and your headache is history by now. We’re having a quiet weekend, which is always a plus in my book. It means time to craft and get some things off my to-do list. Take care. Enjoy the rest of your day.
