Paper Craft Crew 210

What a rainy overcast day we had here yesterday. I guess we only got the side of Hermine, better than the full force of it! I tried to get some things organized at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday and was mostly successful! It was quiet so I also got some time to make another card! Nothing makes me happier than creating! Love it! Speaking of creating I have some fun news for you today! I’m going to a Designer on a brand new blog celebrating Concord & 9th, one of my favorite companies! It’s called Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th! You can check out the rest of the extremely talented Design Team by going over to the BLOG! Our first challenge is Friday, so I will have two posts for you! Yay! After I got home last night Heather called and I went over and picked her up so we could run a few errands and then we had a glass of wine before I came back home. Today I’m hoping the some more of my orders will show up at the store and I have to get ready for the Magic of Vellum Class tomorrow!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS210 DT Sketch 9-07-2016

I could’t wait to get started on this one! I knew exactly what I was going to do! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Black 110lb over the front. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb. I wanted to use part of a NYC Subway Map for my strip across the middle but I didn’t have any so I went online and found a PDF of it and selected a section and printed it out. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. A little pice of Admit OneΒ Washi TapeΒ is adhered on the right. Next I die cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Viewfinder from the Echo Park Viewfinder and Ampersand Die Set. On top of that is a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the slide die from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Dies Set. I adhered some Vellum to the back and then adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics. They are all cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. The I love NY is heat embossed onto a piece of Real Red and punched out with a 1/2″ Circle Punch. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black along the bottom left. Another piece of Real Red is made into a little banner and adhered over some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine that is then tied into a bow over the banner. The whole panel is then adhered to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I love the eclectic mish-mosh of elements and that Kelly’s New York Set is one of my all time favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOGΒ and check out the rest of the team’s cards and enter your card into the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting today! Have a wicked good Wednesday! πŸ™‚

  1. I’m usually not impressed with collage cards. They look like someone just picked up a bunch of things & dropped them on the card. Yours is just perfect. Everything ties together. Wish I lived near NY & could shop at your store.

    1. Thank you so much Paula! Yes, collage cards can be a little tricky! I wish you lived close too! We have so much fun at the classes! πŸ™‚

  2. What a great card, Justin! I love all the elements you pulled together for this one. You are the best in making collage cards. Take care. Have a great day!

  5. Love this collage card Justin and they usually aren’t my favorite type of card. However, since I love NYC and remember all the fabulous NYC stamps I saw when we met at the store in the East Village I really do think this card is awesome. For one thing it’s so colorful and the way you assembled the images couldn’t be more perfect.

Congrats of becoming a designer for one of your favorite companies. I look forward to following the blog and seeing everyone’s creations. It’s overcast and muggy here today and I’m feeling pretty lazy. I really need to get in gear and get some Halloween cards made for the kids but when it’s hot and humid I just can’t get motivated. Supposed to be in the 80’s again by Friday. YUK! LOL You have yourself a Whimsical Wednesday my friend. Love and hugs to you, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Oh, I forgot to mention – I love that I have you saying “wicked good” which is definitely Maine Talk. Is something is extra special or extraordinary here it is “Wicked good”. Keep hanging with me and I’ll have you saying things like “suppah” and “doorah”. LOL
