Paper Players 310

I saw a very funny post by a friend on Facebook yesterday, it said “I’m 100% sure that 70% of my work will not be completed today” and that was true for me! It was just one of those days where you have things to do but little motivation to do them. I think that we all need a not very productive day every so often. I’m sure that today I will wish that I had done more todayΒ but it will get done… eventually! I did help Elyse learn how to use her new Altenew Stamps yesterday. She stopped by the store with Nancy and we had a little mini lesson. Interacting with people and bringing out their creativity is by far the best part of my job! I know I say it a lot but the look on a person’sΒ face when they do something that they didn’t think they could do is awesome! After dinner I did come home and make two cards, so the day wasn’t a total loss! We are supposed to get some rain today, we haven’t had any in a while so I guess we need it. Hopefully the long weekend will be good, the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte are both closed on Sunday and Monday! Two day weekend! Woo hoo! LOL!

One of my cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. A nice simple sketch from Nance…

Paper Players #310

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Ballerina Pink. The patterned paper is a piece of Blazing Floral from the Echo Park Summer Party 12×12 Collection. My greeting is the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Die, I cut it from Solar White 110lb three times and adhered them together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. It’s then coated in Versa-Mark and heat embossed twice with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. The rest of the greeting is from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I flagged the left side, adhered the beautiful to it with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere the Vellum to the card. A sprinkling of Rose Gold, Sparkling Clear, Fresh Mint, Watermelon and Copper Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the card is done! I love the way the greeting turned out with the dimensional beautiful and the rest heat embossed on Vellum! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thanks for your visit today! Have a terrific Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Pretty card. I like it when a patterned paper is so pretty it becomes the card! Enjoy your two days off – woo hoo. You’ve been working hard.

  2. Very pretty card! I love the copper embossing — it’s beautiful! You described how I felt teaching English when concepts lit up a student’s face upon it sinking in and he/she realized they understood or could do it. What a feeling for both of us! I miss that part of my career.
Have an absolutely Lovely Labor Day Weekend…Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thanks Nancy! I love the copper ep, my fave! Yes, exactly! Love the feeling of getting to share knowledge with people! It really is the best part of the store!
Thanks! I hope that you have a fabulous weekend too! Hugs to you! XO πŸ™‚

  4. I absolutely love that saying Justin………..and it’s oh so true. If you watch anyone their entire face changes when a sincere smile comes across it. I know that happened with me when I say your card for today. I’m so glad I got that copper embossing powder from your store. It is my absolute favorite SP. I also need to try your multiple cutting and stacking of words and other dies. The effect is so dimension-ally that it falls into the “eye candy” category. Just a gorgeous card all around.

So – two days off in a row and one of them your favorite day of the week, Monday. LOL Hopefully you have a catch up weekend mixed with a gathering of friends weekend. After all it is the celebration of the end of summer. I know you just hate to hear that but I am ecstatic that fall is here as far as the calendar is concerned. Now I can take out all those decorations with their amazing colors and brighten up the cabin. I’m doing my happy dance! You have yourself a Tantalizing Thursday my friend. Love and hugs to you.
