Paper Players 312

We had a nice little storm that passed through yesterday evening here. ItΒ started out nice and sunny and then out of nowhere, heavy rain and in about an hour it was finished. Saved me from having to water my Parent’s lawn! My day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was nice and productive. I managed to get two cards made! Sue came up around 1:00 and helped me cut for Card Class. We had that finished pretty quickly! After work I drove over to Heather’s in that lovely heavy rain. It’s funny because in the convertible it sounds like you are under an umbrella! I picked up Heather, we stopped at my house so I could drop off my bags and let Winston out and then we ran to BJ’s. From there it was back to her house where she made me a nice salad for dinner. We then sat outside and enjoyed the evening. Today is the first day of the Lawn Fawn Card Class for this month! Can’t wait to see all of the peeps making the cards!

One of the cards that I made at the Store yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge

Today is day for of my friend Linda’s challenge, one more day to go! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies to cut out some more Ivory 110lb. They are colored with Hero Arts Just Rust, Mustard and Green Hills using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I adhered them to the card in a circle using Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A cluster of three is adhered in the upper right and a May Arts Natural Twine Bow that Renee tied for me is adhered to the cluster with Multi-Matte Medium. I then adhered the cluster to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and used my Scissors to cut it out. More 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. It wouldn’t be a card of mine without a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, today some Rose Gold ones! I love the nice color variation that you get from adding the ink to the card stock after you die cut it and I think the thanks looks so cool cut out and popped up! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you for stopping but to see me today! Have an awesome Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Gorgeous card! And, a very clever use of the stamp and dies! I love it! I was in the City last night and just made it to the restaurant before the skies opened. Had to run the last block and of course I didn’t have my umbrella! Those were the biggest raindrops I’ve ever seen!

    1. Thank you so much Linda! It really rained didn’t it?! Glad that you were only a few blocks from the restaurant! πŸ™‚

  2. I CANNOT believe you cut out that “thanks” sentiment! It’s crazy amazing though! Love the leafy wreath…a great way to use those leaves…and of course, sequins always make me happy! Thanks so much for playing with my colors this week at the Players!

    1. LOL! I love a little fussy cutting LeAnne! Sequins are just a happy addition to any card, I agree! Thank you! Have a super weekend! πŸ™‚

  3. Such a pretty card! I can see this with die cut leaves too. I can’t believe you fussy cut the sentiment. It came out great. Of course, your use of sequins makes the day again. It’s been hot and sunny here, but it looks like some rain this weekend. I will be gearing up to make a turkey dinner in about a week and a half seeing as to how I ended up with two turkeys in our chest freezer! Gotta use them up before the next onslaught of turkeys shows up in the stores. Needless to say, you and Grace and her hub are always invited! Have a terrific Thirsty Thursday! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thanks Nancy! The sentiment wasn’t too bad to cut out actually! Sequins really do just make the card! It has been cooling off here and I miss the hot weather already! It’s too early for turkey! LOL! Ahh, now that would be a fun dinner! Hope you enjoyed your day! Hugs to you! πŸ™‚

  4. Hey, hey, hey Justin – stop calling Linda a fiend, that’s NOT nice! LOL πŸ™‚

Love this card mostly because the leaves look so very delicate. You are Mr. Amazing with your paper snips for sure. I would have thought the Thanks was definitely cut with a die. How the heck do you do that so perfectly? The color challenge for your card is absolutely awesome and I can’t imagine a color combo that would be more perfect for autumn. Keep these gorgeous cards coming you artistic guy you!

Lousy day yesterday. Checked my credit card account like I always do at least twice a week. Some jerk got hold of the number and charged two separate airline tickets for two separate flights on two separate days – one to Washington, DC and the other to Atlanta, GA. So I spent most of yesterday and all of today so far getting things straightened out. American Airlines evidently doesn’t ask for the verification number on the back of the card to prove the person booking the flight has the card in his/her possession. I am NOT a happy camper however, your beautiful card did brighten my day. Love and hugs to you my friend! XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. LOL! Tying blog posts at 12:30AM isn’t such a good idea Grace! Practice makes perfect with the fussy cutting! Thank you!! I try not to disappoint!
Oh no! That’s terrible!! I’m surprised that you CC company didn’t flag the charges! That’s just insane that they would think that you would buy the airline tickets! Why did you have to do anything?! Your credit card company should have taken care of it. I’m glad that you got a little happiness from the card! Sorry and I hope that it’s all straightened out! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  5. Love this card, Justin, with the colorful leaves and the large Thanks embossed in copper in that beautiful font. It is so beautiful. Glad you didn’t have to water your parents’ yard. We didn’t get any rain at all and need it badly. I think we may have a chance of getting some on Saturday. I’m going to a card class tomorrow, which should be fun. I always learn something new. It’s 50 miles away, but I always enjoy it. The down side is that I have to get up really early in order to be there on time. LOL Take care and enjoy your class today.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! I really did have so much fun with the set all week! It only rained for about an hour, but boy did it rain! That’s a long way to go for a card class but I’m sure that you will enjoy it! Let me know how it went and what you made! πŸ™‚

  6. Justin, this is unbelievable! I love the gorgeous wreath of leaves. I am so amazed that you cut out that sentiment! WOW! So happy you joined us at The Paper Players this week! XX

    1. Thank you very much Claire! I though that the sentiment would look much better “die cut” but when there is no die you always have scissors! Enjoy your weekend! πŸ™‚

  7. OMG!!! LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!! I need to copy this IF my dies ever come out of back order. I’m kicking myself for not thinking about your store. Next time!

  8. Those open structured leaves are gorgeous and make a gorgeous Fall wreath. Did I mention your card is gorgeous? Thanks for playing with LeAnne’s color challenge this week at the Paper Players.

    1. Thank you so much Colleen! I’m so happy that you like it! My favorite part was inking the leaves! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend! πŸ™‚

  9. Yes, Justin, my card class was fun. We made five cards. One was a birthday Squash Fold card with birthday embossed front and balloons. Another was a black and white card using DSP, half of a doily and the medium size SU diecut butterfly on the front. Another was a window looking out to a tree we chalked in pink with green meadow. Another was a fall or Thanksgiving card and the last one was a mason jar with yellow flowers and green stems where we painted the water in the jar with Spectrum Noir marker. So all are very pretty (nothing like the cards you make). We have varying levels of card makers. I go to see a friend I met on a trip to Egypt a few years ago and after the class we have lunch to catch up. It makes for a very nice day a few times a year. I hope your day is going well and you have some fun plans for the weekend besides the store.

    1. YAY! That’s great to hear HJ! They sound like really fun cards! I think that being creative no matter what you are doing, with a group of people is the most fun thing! How nice that you got to see your friend! I’m so happy that you enjoyed yourself! My weekend is good, just getting stuff done! LOL! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! πŸ™‚
