SIP Challenge 67 – A Sketch!

Yes, it was chilly here again yesterday! Where oh where did my summer go?! Of course, now the climate control in my car is working steadily! Well, I guess I will appreciate that when I actually need the heat! I had another very productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I made a card and managed to get all of my images stamped and Copic colored for the card for October Card Class! Renee also had a busy but productive day! Yay all around! I spoke to Anna from The Ink Pad for a bit, I’m going to stop by the store on Saturday to drop off some stuff. I’m going to the Mama Elephant event at Westbeth with Sandy and Sue! Woo hoo! A day in the city! Please say a little prayer that it doesn’t rain! When I got home I had dinner and then came to my house and die cut all of the images that I colored in at the store. TodayΒ I’ll assemble the cards, nice and early too! πŸ˜€

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

Some people see a rectangle, I see a tag! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo. The snowflakes are stamped directly onto the card front with Tide Pool. I added a strip of Dark Molasses across the lower middle. My tag is cut from Solar White 80lb using the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies. I stamped the trees onto the tag and an extra onto another piece of Solar White 80lb in Green Fields and the deer in Cup O Joe. The extra tree and deer are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the tag with 3D Foam Squares. I tied a piece of American Crafts Basic Light Green Twine through the top of the tag and adhered itΒ to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear and Sea Breeze Sequins are added for a little interest and the card is finished! I think that the Stamp Set has such fun images and the snowflakes are just so cool! LOL! Get it, cool snowflakes?! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s awesome projects and we hope that we get to see your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have an interesting Tuesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Very cool card, Justin! πŸ˜‰ The tag is a perfect substitute for the rectangle on the sketch! I love it! I am disappointed that I won’t be going to the Mama Elephant event this year, but I will be in Ohio for Family Weekened so it’s all good!

    1. Thank you Linda! I do enjoy a tag on a card! I’m sorry that you won’t be there too! But yes, a family weekend in Ohio sounds like a great time! Enjoy! πŸ™‚

  2. Normally I do not like the pale colors for a Christmas card, but the deer made it and really rocked it! What a great stamp and die set! Love this… I’m looking forward to your NYC excursion. It’s turned cooler here in the Ohio River Valley, the leaves are falling, and the acorns are creating a disturbing cacophony falling on my deck. Looks like hip replacement is in my future, but I don’t know when. My doctor may need back surgery! Ironic? Have a Terrific Tuesday! Hugs, Nancy

    1. Thank you Nancy! I like all colors for Christmas! It is a really cool stamp and die set! I’m so looking forward to my NYC day!! Can’t wait! It definitely cooler here too! You should find something crafty to do with the acorns! Oh, not good for the Dr. or you! They want my Mum to get a knee replacement and she is having none of it. Hope you had a great day! πŸ™‚

  3. What a creative take on the challenge, Justin. Your card great with the scene on the tag. Had I put those colors together, it would have looked like a hot mess, but when you do it, it creates a beautiful card. Go figure!! I know it’s called talent and I didn’t get my full portion. LOL Have a great day, my friend.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! Sometimes you have to look to nature for colors and not be so matchy! I’m sure that you are very talented too! Hope you have a lovely day! πŸ™‚

  4. Are you looking at me . . . that is what the deer is thinking! I just had to LOL! I like that tag totally, the placement of the stamps and pop-ups are perfect.

  5. Really, really sweet Christmas card Justin! Love the colors and especially the way the deer and trees seem to have a shadow behind them. Wouldn’t it be spectacular if the tag could be removed and used as a bookmark? That way you could not only be sending a gorgeous card but also a mini gift as well. Is there a way to do that Justin? Also, I love the way you use sequins on almost all of your cards. I just can’t bring myself to use them. After all the years of dance costumes and majorette costumes I really don’t want to deal with another sequin. Yet, I love how you use them Go figure! LOL

Cool, cloudy and misty here today. I’m going to make my first batch of soup for the freezer for winter today. It’s Italian Pasta & Bean soup and it’s really delicious. I like it because it’s meatless and full of vegetables. That saves on the grocery bill and is different for a change. You have yourself a Tantalizing Tuesday my friend. Love & Hugs to you! XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! The card made me think of you! I’ll bet you have see some scenes just like that one from your window! Ahh, that’s a great idea, I’ll have to remember that the next time I use a tag on a card! I have done removable things with magnets before! I really do love my sequins! They just add a little something, everything looks better with a little sparkle!
It was rainy yesterday morning but then got quite nice. Your soup does sound lovely! Hop you had a fun day! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚
