SIP Challenge 69 – Love!

Hello my friends! How is the week starting off for you? Mine is pretty good so far! I had a lovely productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got my cards done for this week’s Quick Cards Class and my card for today’s post made too! Angie was at the store yesterday helping out Renee with the Cricut and making page titles. My Parent’s stopped by so my Dad could put air in my tire, they have started loosing air again, just like last year! Grrrr! Taylor also come by and hung out at the store for a bit. After work I had some dinner at my Parent’s and then Heather came by to watch a little TV with me. Today I will get more projects finished, I will! LOL! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog for this week’s challenge…

sip-challenge-69-2-800

Ahh… love! It’s what we want a little of isn’t it? My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a heart from Chinese Red and then again from Tropical Sea. Next up I die cut the Love from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set from a piece of Black and then from the heart that was inlaid into the Tropical Sea piece. I then inlaid all of the pieces together and adhered them to the base with E-Z Runner. To make up for the heart hanging off of the right side I trimmed a 1/4″ off of the left. The rest of my greeting, also from the Love Stamp & Cut, is stamped in Onyx Black above the die cut Love. A few more hearts are cut from the Tropical Sea and Chinese Red with the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I stamped a few more tiny hearts in Onyx Black and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze, Raspberry and Onyx Sequins and the card is done! I love the inlaid look of all of the different pieces and I think that the colors are great together! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Love Theme Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have an interesting Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 469

I hope that your weekend was as nice as mine! Yesterday morning Heather and I went to the Deli and had flagels for breakfast before heading over to Valley Stream to pick up her brother. The traffic wasn’t too bad heading into Manhattan but once we got in boy was there a lot! It didn’t take us too long to get to the Javits Center and drop off Russell at Comic-Con. But it took us an hour to get from the Javits Center over to 72nd and Lexington. I got to Jim and Diane’s at 11:00 and Heather had to head back to Valley Stream to stay with her grandmother because they had to take her Dad to the Hospital again. I had a nice visit with Jim and Diane and I got to meet their Daughter Wendy and her daughter too! Around 1:00 I was going to head back to Penn Station when Kim called me and asked if I wanted to meet her for lunch, of course I did! We went to 5 Napkins Burgers and boy were they delicious! The fries were excellent too! After lunch we took a walk over to the Nespresso Store on Madison seeing as the rain finally stopped. We tried a few different kinds of espresso and I bought a few sleeves of pods to take home. I left Kim at 60th and Lexington to get the N back to Penn which took forever to come. Once I got to Penn I had to figure out how I was going to go to get home. There was a derailment on the Ronkonkoma line, the one I usually take, so I had to take a train to Massapequa and have my Parents come and get me. I saw Taylor for a little while when I got home, her mouth is feeling much better. I straightened up a little and made a plan of attack to get the rest of the house cleaned up before calling it a night. Back to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store this morning, I have a bunch of projects to finish!

Monday so it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

mojo469

Today’s card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Herb Garden. I used the Concord & 9th with Simon Says Stamp Cozy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set for all of my images and greeting. The outline image is stamped in Altenew Dark Chocolate Ink onto a piece of Kraft to create my background. Next up is a piece of 48lb Vellum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts. A panel and a strip with the end flagged of Dark Molasses is added next. My greeting from the set is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto more Herb Garden and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped the pinecones twice using my Mini MISTI and more Dark Chocolate Ink to get the layers perfectly aligned. They are cut out with the Coordinating Die. One is adhered to the top after being trimmed and the other next to the greeting, both with 3D Foam Squares. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green and Rose Gold Sequins to complete the card. I love the way that you can get a nice layered look with just the one ink color and the set is definitely a favorite of mine! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG for more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thanks, as always, for starting your week off with me! Have an amazing Monday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Watercolor!

wcmc9-header

This is my second post for today! When this post goes up I’ll be in Manhattan! I’m going to try and see some of my peeps before I head back home. I do love a day in the city as most of you know! The reason for two posts today you may be wondering? Well it’s time for the second challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! This time we are featuring a technique which is one of my favorites… watercoloring! You have a whole month to play along! Winners will be picked on Monday, November 7th and announced on Tuesday November 8th!

Here is this month’s challenge badge…

challenge-2-watercolor

I have been dying to use the Holy Night Dies from last month’s release! I die cut all of the pieces for the main parts of the card from Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. Before I scored them I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to create my scene. After the pieces had dried (I let them air dry to minimize warping) I scored them at the notches that die cuts add and then added Scor-Tape and adhered all of the pieces together. The star just had to be cut from Gold Mirror Card along with the noel. I also cut two noels from a piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered them together and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that die set, it makes it so easy to make a dimensional pop-up card, and the best part is that it folds flat and fits in a standard envelope! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Watercolor Challenge! We hope that you will play along with us and if you need a little additional inspiration stop by the BLOG and see the amazing cards that the rest of the Design Team has created! Hope to see your card in the gallery! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂

Sweet Pineapple Thanks

We had a very rainy and humid end to the day here yesterday. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun as always! I do enjoy spending time with the ladies at the crop. Pat and I had some fun with heat embossing on chipboard, wood veneer and MDF! She made a beautiful layout with some Blue Fern Papers and Embellishments. I did have to run to the Post Office to drop off a few packages and on my way back I stopped at DSW. I needed a new pair of sneakers and I had a $20 off coupon. I always look on the clearance rack first and there was a pair of Frye sneakers. I knew that they made boots, very expensive boots but apparently they also make expensive sneakers! They were $228!! After the markdown and 70% off and my $20 off coupon I got them for $29!! Woo hoo! I do love a bargain and that was a serious one! They are really nice navy blue suede an leather with a hint of brown. When I got home I had Chinese with my Parent’s, it has become a Sunday tradition and I love it. After that I went with Anthony and Bill to get Anthony a new iPhone. They didn’t have the 7Plus and won’t until late November so Ant got the 7. I personally would have waited but he has even less patience than me! Once I got home I chatted with Andrea for a bit and then a little down time before bed. This morning I’m off to Manhattan with Heather to drop her brother off at Comic-Con and then I’m going to stop by and see my friends Jim and Diane. Should be a fun day! Oh, and for a little added bonus I’ll be back later on today at 11:00am with the new challenge post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog so be sure and come back for that! 😀

I started working on this card at the store and finished it when I got home. Apparently it’s stamped background weekend! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the images and greetings are from the Concord & 9th Pop Art Pineapple Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Hero Arts Soft Purple and the You’re Sweet in Fresh Peach onto some Solar White 80lb. I used my Grid Mat to line up the images as I stamped them. The pineapple base is stamped in Dandelion Hybrid and Soft Brown with the crown stamped in Green Apple Hybrid. My greeting is stamped in Soft Brown with the banner stamped in Green Apple Hybrid and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I also die cut a panel of 36lb Vellum with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts. The images and greeting are adhered to the Vellum with 3D Foam Squares and then adhesive is added behind them and the panel is adhered to the card. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Wisteria, Lemon Drop and Sand Sequins completes the card! I really am enjoying the stamped backgrounds, can you tell?! I hope that you like this morning’s card! I thank you for visiting today and don’t forget to come back at 11:00am for my Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Design Team Post! Enjoy your morning and I’ll see you in again a little while! 🙂

Grateful Spooky Halloween Wreath

So I was hoping that when I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday morning there would be internet. Nope! We had to call Optimum and they sent a really nice guy out to fix it. He gave me his cell phone just incase they cut it again! I managed to get a few things done and so did Renee. Today is the start of the weekend crop! The crops are always fun! I’m going to try and be really productive! 😀

When I got home last night I realized that I didn’t have a card for today! I went into the Stampin’ Galley and this is what I came up with. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. To create my background I used the Hero Arts Grateful Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set and Autumn Ombre Ink. The veins on the leaves are stamped in Just Rust. Next up I die cut some more Black 110lb with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and stamped the bats and pumpkins form the Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut in Intense Black and Just Rust. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the bats and pumpkins. They are adhered to the wreath with Dot Runner Adhesive and then the wreath is adhered to the card with Black 3D Foam Squares. The halloween is also from the Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut, I die cut it three times from Black 110lb and used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere them to each other and the card. The rest of the sentiment is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and adhered with more 3D Foam Squares. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin and Metallic Copper Sequins and the card is finished! Even though the background is a little busy I still love the way it looks! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks for spending some of your Saturday with me! Enjoy the start of your weekend! 🙂

Paper Players 315

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I mentioned that they are doing construction right?! Well yesterday it was our turn to have the facade of the building taken down. So much noise and mess! Renee was smart and took the day off! I did have one person come in the morning to make the house. Around 3:30 I lost internet because they cut the cable wire! I called the rest of the people that were scheduled to take the class and said we would have to reschedule and I closed up around 4:00. Don’t ask what the cable is just cut it! So annoying! I stopped home and then went over to Heather’s so we could run some errands and have dinner. Kim and Stephanie came by for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always. Today I need to get a ton of projects finished and hopefully we will have internet!

Today I have my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-315

My friend Andrea very cleverly said to me, well you were going to share the house on your blog so why not use it for the challenge?! She is so smart sometimes! Here is the 3D Haunted House that I made for the class! I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling and the Village Manor Add-On Dies. All of the main parts of the house are cut from Black 110lb Card Stock and the fence, chimneys, door and windows from Battleship Gray. I used Vellum in the windows and the roofs are cut from American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. The windows, doors and chimneys have a little Black Soot Distress Ink added. I used Scor-Tape and Multi-Matte Medium to glue everything together. For a little extra spook I added a sparkly bat and ghost. There is a flickering tea light inside too! I do love the way the house came out! It’s simple but fun! I hope that you like my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 257

I had another dressing appropriately issue again but I wasn’t the only one! When I went outside at 7:30 yesterday morning it was chilly and overcast, I wore long pants and a sweatshirt. By the afternoon I was roasting! LOL! The sun had come out once again and it was a lovely day! Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me cut for today’s Haunted House class. She was dressed for fall too! I cut a few extra kits and will post a picture of the house over the weekend in case anyone is interested. Taylor had text me during the day and asked me if I would pick something up for her and drop it off at her house then Heather called and asked if I would run over to her house and set her DVR to record some stuff. I also had to run to Target, I sold my Nespresso to Heather a few months ago and miss it and they had one on clearance for $138 (originally $279!)!! So I ran all over. Taylor did text me and say that she wanted to get out of the house so I picked her up before Target. She is still in pain and her mouth is swollen but she is feeling a little better. I passed on all of your sage advice to her and she said to thank you! When I got back to the house I had a few espressos and then relaxed for a bit! Yes, caffeine has absolutely no effect on me… I wish it did!

I did squeeze in a little crafty time yesterday and the card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-257

I have had an idea for the Hero Arts Cardinal Set for a while so I gave my idea a try, you’ll have to let me know what you think! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Bluejay Card Stock, subliminal I guess! For my background I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar Ink to create a little sunny sky. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Intense Black. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The “bluejay” is from the Hero Arts Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped him in Soft Granite, Cornflower, Navy and Intense Black. He and his feet are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The pine branches and pinecones are from the Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo and are stamped in Green Fields and Cup O Joe and also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the pine branches with Dot Runner Adhesive and the pinecones and bluejay with 3D Foam Squares. It needed one more thing… oh yes… a few Pretty Pink Posh Cornflower, Mossy Green and Lemon Drop Sequins! I have to say that I really like the cardinal made to look like a bluejay and the background blended with the Hero Inks is just lovely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 214

Sometimes a day away from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store is actually more work than being there! LOL! I had somewhat forgotten that I have my first solo post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog today so yesterday morning I made a card and typed my post for that. (If you want see that post you click HERE, it goes live at 11:00am!) Around 11:30 I went over and picked up Taylor and took her to the Dentist for her 12:15 appointment. At 1:05, still sitting there in the waiting room I started to get a little miffed! I had to be on a 1:44 train so my Parent’s came over and waited for her to finish. My Mum text me and told me that she was hysterical laughing when she came out from the anesthesia, I’m sorry that I missed that! I did make my train and relaxed and listened to my music all the way in. I went in a little early so that I could get a late lunch. I found a Chop’t in my travels and had a lovely salad and my favorite Pelligrino Lemon! From there I went over to see my friend Ella. She made me two Illy Lungos and we chatted for a while. Around 6:30 I headed back to Penn and got the 7:11 home. The train was packed but I had my headphones on and was in my own little world! I had a corn muffin (good thing I had the salad!) for dinner and then watched a little TV. Today I have to get ready for the Haunted House class, Sue is going to come and help me! She is so good!

Mid week and I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

pcccs214-dt-sketch-10-05-2016

This time the challenge will run for two weeks! Yay! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the brushstrokes from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Pool Ink. Across that, a little tilted, is a piece of Carta Bella Winter Fun Paper. I curled up the edges just a little for some added interest. My ornament is cut out with the die from the Hero Arts Winter Cheer Tag Set by Lia from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper. I also cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the silver with Multi-Purpose Adhesive. The tag is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. Both of the greetings are from the same set. The winter wishes is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and I used my Scissors to cut out. Some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape adheres it to the ornament. My season’s greetings is also heat embossed in Gold onto more Solar White 110lb, I flagged both ends and adhered it with more 3D Foam Squares. Here come the sequins! LOL! I added some Cornflower, Silver, Gold and Sparkling Clear ones with Multi-Matte Medium and the card is finished! I really do love that tag cut from the Silver and the gold greetings, especially the fussy cut one, are so cool! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Take a minute and stop by the BLOG and see the rest of Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 68 – Card Maker’s Choice!

Well, the sun finally came out yesterday after not seeing it for a week! I wasn’t sure what it was at first but then I remembered! LOL! I had a busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and the ladies wandered in and out all day making their cards. I managed to get two cards made and a lot of other administrative stuff done! After work I came home and had some dinner and then went over to Heather’s to catch up on some TV. I’m off from the Store today, I have to go and take Taylor to get her wisdom teeth removed. Not fun. And then I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Ella for a bit. Yay for back to Manhattan!

Tuesday’s mean a new challenge over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

sip-challenge-68

Cardmaker’s Choice is always a favorite! I played with some more soon to be released Mama Elephant! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Hero Arts Navy and Grape Juice Ink to create a night sky background. Next up I die cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts. The skyline is adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and the road has a piece of white behind it and then 3D Foam Squares hold it in place. My houses are from the Mama Elephant City Sidewalks Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color in the buildings and the Coordinating Creative Cuts to cut them out, some more 3D Foam Squares adhere them to the card. My trees and phone box are also from the set and are adhered to the buildings with still more 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Spreading Holiday Cheer Creative Cut. I used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to hold it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give it just a little shine! I love those cute little buildings and the way the Hero Arts Ink blends is just fantastic! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the talented Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery and share it with us! Thank you very much for visiting today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 468

I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! Yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store we had our first Hand Lettering Class taught by the lovely Paula Andrea! I took the class and learned the basics, included in the class is an excellent workbook so we can all practice, and I’m going to need a lot! If you want to see some of Paula’s work you can find her on Instagram HERE! She was an excellent teacher and we can’t wait to have her back! After work I came home and saw my little buddy Daniel at my Parent’s for a bit before heading over to pick up Kim so that we could go to Govenor’s Comedy Club for the Fire Department Fundraiser. We met up with Brian and I got to see my friends Mike and Michelle who I haven’t seen in ages! It was nice to catch up with them! The last comedian of the night, Mick Thomas, was hysterical! I think that the Irish accent made him even funnier! What a nice way to end the weekend!

And it’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

mojo468

Of course I had to play with a new Mama Elephant set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Echo Park Wintertime 12×12 Collection. For the band across the lower half I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim off the lower part of a piece of Gold Mirror Card and added a strip of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper across it before adhering it to the card. That super cute “Charlie Brown” tree is from the new Mama Elephant O’ Tiny Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the trunk and branches in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink and colored in the image with Copics. The pine needles are stamped in Evergreen Crisp Ink. My lights and string are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder, the ornament hook in Platinum and the ornament in Gold. I colored in the lights and ornament in with Copics and added a generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ornament. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Up in the left corner is a piece of Black 110lb adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I hand cut the tag from more Gold Mirror Card and then added a Natural Twine bow to it before adhering it to the card with a Glue Dot. I’m totally in love with the little tree! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the Design Team BLOG to see more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off with me! I really love you coming by! Have a fun Monday! 🙂
