Paper Players 315

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I mentioned that they are doing construction right?! Well yesterday it was our turn to have the facade of the building taken down. So much noise and mess! Renee was smart and took the day off! I did have one person come in the morning to make the house. Around 3:30 I lost internet because they cut the cable wire! I called the rest of the people that were scheduled to take the class and said we would have to reschedule and I closed up around 4:00. Don’t ask what the cable is just cut it! So annoying! I stopped home and then went over to Heather’s so we could run some errands and have dinner. Kim and Stephanie came by for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always. Today I need to get a ton of projects finished and hopefully we will have internet!

Today I have my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

My friend Andrea very cleverly said to me, well you were going to share the house on your blog so why not use it for the challenge?! She is so smart sometimes! Here is the 3D Haunted House that I made for the class! I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling and the Village Manor Add-On Dies. All of the main parts of the house are cut from Black 110lb Card Stock and the fence, chimneys, door and windows from Battleship Gray. I used Vellum in the windows and the roofs are cut from American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. The windows, doors and chimneys have a little Black Soot Distress Ink added. I used Scor-Tape and Multi-Matte Medium to glue everything together. For a little extra spook I added a sparkly bat and ghost. There is a flickering tea light inside too! I do love the way the house came out! It’s simple but fun! I hope that you like my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! šŸ™‚

  4. Oh my gosh Justin! That is the BEST little haunted house I have EVAH seen! I especially love that it sparkles! AND the little ghost and bat – well they are so perfectly placed. I also think that it will be amazing once you put a flicker light inside. I am at a loss for words – an boy, for me that’s saying a lot! I so, so, so, so wish I could be at that class. I just know you aren’t going to have enough space to accommodate every one that wants to take it.

Sorry that the construction is making things difficult. You certainly can’t run a business without electricity and I hope it’s all restored today for you. It does sound like you make the best of the situation though and that’s all you can do.
So glad that Taylor is starting to feel better. Having those wisdom teeth taken out is really tough and recovery time is not the same as having a regular tooth out. I know for my girls it took a solid week for the swelling to go down. My girls are small in stature and their little cheeks looked like they were chipmunks with their cheeks stuffed in preparation for winter. LOL

You have yourself a Fruitful and Fabulous Friday my friend. Love and hugs from the North Country. XXOO šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! I thought that the Glitter Paper for the roof was perfect! The ghost is neat peeking out of the front door! The flickering tea light inside looks really cool when the room is darker! I needed to advertise the class more, I need to get on top of things like that!
The construction is frustrating, especially when they do silly things like cut wires without asking! The Cable guy was really nice and everything is back to somewhat normal today.
Taylor’s face is still swollen but not as bad, yes, it takes longer for sure. LOL! I can see the chipmunk cheeks on the girls!
I would like to be sitting on the porch with you today! Hope you have a nice day! Love and hugs! XOXO šŸ™‚

  5. Oh my gosh, I just love this! It turned out great….I always wanted to do one of Tim’s houses! Spooky but not TOO scary! So happy you shared this with us at the Players this week!! It’s awesome!

  6. Your house is just great! I especially like the vellum windows. Your ghost looks like he’s heading out to do errands. Have a great Friday. Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, he does look like he’s in a hurry to do something! LOL! Hope that you had a nice Friday! Hugs to you! šŸ™‚

  7. Kind of ironic that you posted your haunted house on the same day the were doing construction at the shopping center! This is a great project–and I bet not as messy as the shopping center facade! ? Hope things return to normal soon!

    1. LOL! Yes indeed Linda! No, the project is no where near as messy as the construction! I can’t wait for it to be finished! šŸ™‚

  8. Justin, I cannot find where I said I wanted to buy the house kit and you gave me the price and I said I’d take it. I don’t know how to contact you otherwise.
