Mojo Monday 473

Another weekend done! I enjoyed mine and hope that you all did too! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun for day two of the crop. I really do enjoy spending time with everyone! My friend Sandy came by to visit me, love when she pops in! I have some serious ordering to do today, need to get things restocked. I’m also working on a bunch of kits as a trial. They will be very limited edition to start and depending on how they do there will be many more (hopefully!)! After work I enjoyed a little time with my Parents and then came home and straightened up. Andrew’s Mum stopped by to pick up two thank you cards that she had asked me to make. We had a nice little visit, she’s such a sweet lady! I also got to see Taylor briefly, nice to know that she’s still around! We are to have nice weather here all week, cool but sunny! I can deal with that! πŸ˜€

It’s Monday so we are starting the week off here on the blog with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

You know how I love my non-traditional Holiday cards, well I like to think of this one as Christmas in Key West! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Carta Bella Beach Day Surf Shop 12×12 Paper for my background and across the lower half is a piece of Candied Yam. My panel is a piece of Mosaic Blue that I heat embossed my greeting from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I backed it with a piece of Silver Glitter Paper and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cute Christmas bulbs are cut out with the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Lawn Cuts. I cut the backers from Solar White 80lb and the fronts from Tropical Sea, Candied Yam, Lemon Lime, Classic CherryΒ and Lemon Sorbet. The tops are cut from more Silver Glitter Paper. I adhered all of the pieces together and then adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A piece of Lawn Fawn Silver Sparkle Single Cord Lawn Trimmings is threaded through them and the ends are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. For a little sparkle I added Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze, Tangerine, Lime Sorbet, Raspberry, Lemon, Cobalt and Silver Sequins. When I look at this card I see a string of lights on a little beach shack, see why I said Christmas in Key West?! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and lets see your take in the gallery! I thank you so much for starting your week off here, with me! Have an amazing Monday! πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thanks, yes they remind me of the big old lights that we used to have when I was little! πŸ™‚

  1. Oh Mr. Clever! I love the string going through the lights! Kind of ties it all together (tee hee)! Sorry, I couldn’t resist and yes, you can all boo me for that one! LOL

Glad to hear yesterday was another great day for you but I’m even more glad to hear that you might start doing kits! Oh joy, I can’t wait. Seriously, I can’t wait! This is the most exciting news I’ve had in a while. I have tons of questions like when will you start, will we get a preview before buying, are the kits going to be set on a theme – and many more. I’m considering this my early Christmas Gift! Yupper – love it. You have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend. Love and hugs, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. LOL! Thanks Grace! Yup, that’s me! NOT! Ha ha!
Yes, I’m starting to do Kits, they seem to be popular so I’ll give my hand a try at them! I will give a preview, I’ll email you a pic of what I did with the first one. You are too kind! I hope that you enjoy your Monday too! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. Oh, wow! Beautyful card! Like the lights and your choice of colors! So nice!
It will be cold here, in the Netherlands, maybe even some snow….

    1. Thank you very much GerJanne! Love a nice bright Christmas card!
I’m over the cold and it hasn’t even started!! I can’t wait for summer again!
      Stay warm! πŸ™‚

  3. Too cute! Definately a “Key West or Caribbean” Christmas card. Love the lights, my childhood trees all had those big lights, hated them, now love them.

    1. Thanks Linda! Can’t you just hear the ocean and feel the warm breeze with the Christmas music playing?! LOL! We had the big lights too! I think they are fun! I want to get some Edison lights! πŸ™‚

  4. Justin, this is such a cute, bright Christmas card. It reminds me of some of the brightly colored “out of the box” cards that Michael in Brazil makes. It is such a great take on the sketch. I love the greeting and the striped background paper. Your kits sound very interesting. I’m with Grace, I’d like to see what you put together. You amaze me how you can keep so many things going and add new ones all the time. Take care and have a great Tuesday.

    1. Hi HJ!
Thank you! Yes, it is very colorful and Michale does make bright cards! It’s just happy! It’s not easy doing all of this stuff but I do so enjoy it! I only have one of the kits left but am working on some more! As soon as I make the next ones I’ll post pictures! Enjoy your day my friend! πŸ™‚
