SIP Challenge 75 – Colors!

It is way too cold here for me! I don’t think that the wind is helping much either! LOL! Oh how I miss the Summer! You know how I love my Convertible because the top goes down… well in the Winter I love it for theย heated seats! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy today, Renee had her Home Decor class, I really do wish that I had joined that when it started, it’s so neat! I got to see my friend Arnise, she never makes it out of the store without coming back in! LOL! I always joke with her that third times a charm! Taylor was at my house when I got home and she is watching Grey’s Anatomy from the start. Apparently it was too good to leave to go over to my Parent’s for dinner! When I got back to my house she had finished her episode and was off. I watched a few YouTube videos and then messed around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. Today I have a lot of things to get done at the store. We are closed on Wednesday and Thursday and Renee won’t be in on Friday. I’ll be there avoiding Black Friday shopping! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

I’ll admit that I had a hand in the color selection… they are some of my favorites! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Hunter Green. For the background I used the Your Next Stamp Scallop Heart Edge Die to cut out the right side of a piece of Tropical Sea. It is then heat embossed with my favorite Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background Stamp in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. I used a piece of Post-it Tape to mask off the right side and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My tree is made up of all of the open hearts from the Your Next Stamp Stripe-tastic Heart Die. I cut them out of more Hunter Green and stamped all but the smallest one with the Hero Arts Forest Floor Bold Prints Background Stamp and Emerald Green Ink. The small heart is heat embossed in more Copper Embossing Powder five times. For the trunk I heat embossed a piece of Dark Molasses with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp andย yet more Copper Embossing Powder. The trunk is adhered with E-Z Runner and the hearts are adhered with 3D Foam Squares on the bottom and E-Z Runner on top. I added the hearts cut from the border with a Quickie Glue Pen and decided the tree needed some lights so I used my Uniball Signo White Gel Pen for that. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is again heat embossed in Copper. I used one of the small heart dies to flag the ends and adhered it to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. It’s definitely a different card than I’m used to making, it almost has a country feel to it but I do like the hearts used to make the tree and of course all of the Copper embossing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! 1. You are absolutely right Justin……this card has a very country feel to it which makes it a HUGE hit with me. I never would have thought to use hearts to make a Christmas tree. You are one creative fellow for sure. Turquoise and copper are a few of my favorite colors and together they are absolutely sensational. I use a square punch to flag the ends of a greeting banner but now that you have shown me the look using a heart shape I do believe that would be even easier. See, I still learn something new from your blog every single day. Whoever said “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” didn’t have a clue what they were talking about. This old dog learns something new every day………now, remembering it is a different story. LOL You have yourself a Treasured Tuesday my friend. Make it special just like you are! Love & Hugs, XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I thought that you might like this card Grace! I saw the heart die on my desk and thought… hmm… I’ll bet I can make a tree out of that! I love the colors too, especially the copper! The heart makes fun banner end, slightly rounded! I’ really am happy that after all of this time I still get to show you new stuff! I hope that you are enjoying your day my friend! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. OMG! I LOVE THS!!!!!!!Hearts are my favorite shape, but the color combo is what really grabs me. this is so beautiful! I’m glad your off for two days, enjoy your time.

Me, I’m like a nut here. One loaf of bear bread left to make and then back to banana bread. My kids are home and they have done most of the cleaning.

Things always get done in tme, I just hate the stress

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I thought that the stacked hearts made a fun tree and I love the teal with the copper! I have to go to the store today anyway, UPS & FedEx need me! LOL!
You are too funny! See, I told you that the extra groceries would be worth it! It that way all the time and yes, it will all get done and then you can relax! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I love this card, Justin, in these colors. Copper is one of my favorites this year. The copper embossing goes perfectly with the Pool and white. So pretty. Like Grace, I learned something new about using the heart punch for the banner. Cool idea!! The wind seems to have died down now, so maybe it will in your area as well. It has really been fierce the past few days. When did you say summer is coming??? You and I are definitely on the same page about cold winters. Take care. Have a great day in the store tomorrow. Since I’m not cooking for Thanksgiving, I’ll have time to craft tomorrow. Yay!!

    1. Thank you so much HJ! I too am really loving copper, it goes quite well with rose gold! I need to lay dies out on my desk more often and see what happens! LOL! It has died down here too, thankfully! Summer cannot get here soon enough! I know that it just left but I really want it back! Hate the Winter and technically it’s not even cold yet! Yikes! I’ll hopefully only be in the store for a few hours and then off for fun things! Enjoy your crafty time! ๐Ÿ™‚
