Colorful String of Lights

We had a somewhat overcast day all day yesterday. But it was bright and fun inside the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte! Renee had her cookie exchange and it was a good time! My Parents stopped by and picked up some of the chocolate that Cara makes for Daniel and had some of the cookies that I asked my friend Melissa to make! My Grandmother always made Coconut Wheaties and they have always been my favorite! They were also the winner of the cookie exchange! They tasted just like my Grandmother’s, even my Dad agreed! Melissa also gave my scarf that she made for me yesterday! I LOVE it! Here is a quick pic of me wearing it…

I love the colors and it’s an infinity scarf, fits around my neck twice perfectly! You can also see that the scaffolding is still up! Will it ever go away?! Today I have the new release from Lawn Fawn coming as well as a few goodies from My Favorite Things! 😀

The card front for today’s card has been sitting on my desk for almost a month so I thought that it was about time I completed the card! I took a piece of Lemon Lime Card Stock and used the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Lawn Cuts to cut out the negatives of the lights. I then cut the string from a piece of Black and the tops of the bulbs from Silver Glitter Paper. My greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice. The sparkles around the lights are from the same set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I adhered the string and silver bulb tops to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and then adhered a piece of Acetate with E-Z Runner to the back. Next I created wells for the sequins with 3M Foam Tape and filled them with Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Pansy Purple, Lemon Drop, Cobalt and Pumpkin Sequins. All that was left to do was adhered the card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to the back and the card is finished! I think that it’s a very festive card that will go to someone special! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for starting your week off with a visit to the Blog! Have a merry Monday! 🙂

    1. LOL! This one did take a little time Emily! Something for later on when it’s not the week before Christmas! 🙂

  1. Good Morning Justin:

I love that you did the base of the lights with the silver glitter paper. Of course all the different colors of sequins really do add a lot of sparkle, which you know I love, to this super festive card! Great job (as always)!

How sweet of Melissa to make you that nice warm scarf. She obviously knows that you aren’t a fan of cold weather. LOL The cookies sound wonderful and I’ve never heard of Coconut Wheaties cookies. I’ll have to Google it and see if I can find a recipe on line. Sounds really interesting. Also, I love cookie exchanges! How neat that everyone made enough cookies so that your parents were able to sample a few also. Melissa was really great to make cookies for you to bring but you did cheat – you are supposed to make them yourself! I know you could do it because you have a stove and you can read and follow a recipe I’m sure. So, next year you need to make them yourself and then have Melissa make some in case yours don’t quite come out the way you want! LOL You are just too funny and lucky enough to have friends that will spoil you.

Still cold today. I want to go out to eat and get to Staples to buy a new printer early today but I have to hang around as UPS sent me an email telling me I’m getting a delivery from Godiva today. I’m sure that my nephew in West Haven sent them for my birthday and I wouldn’t want them to freeze on the front porch for sure. So, hopefully they will come early so we can go out and be back before dark as I’m very fearful of black ice on the roads.

You have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend and enjoy your day at the SIP shop! Love & Hugs to you! XXOO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
Thank you! I think that it’s quite a festive little card myself!
Yes, it’ was very nice of Melissa to make me a scarf! I will send you the recipe for the cookies! I would have made the cookies myself but I just didn’t have any time. And Melissa is an extremely good baker! I’m very lucky that I have such great friends!
Oh, I would wait home for a delivery from Godiva! Love their chocolates! I hope that you got to get your new printer.
I always have a nice day at the SIP shop! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  2. Love it! I really like Christmas lights, both on cards and in reality. Aside from family, friends I think that lights are one of my favorite things about Christmas. Everything is so bright and cheerful.

Love the scarf, I’m sure it will come in handy, if not ship it to me. -14 last night, with no wind chill. Its 11am here and we made it to 0. Heat wave.

No mojo here, so I sat and colored with my Copics yesterday. Relaxing, and got about 4 images done. I need to head out, my sons phone crashed and he is not an authorized purchaser on our bill. GRR….. dreading this. Then I really need to wrap gifts. I start my new job on Wednesday and I want gfts to be done. Take care

    1. Thank you Linda! I’m with you, family, friends then lights!
The scarf is really nice and it didn’t take her long at all to make! I think that I need to send you you for sure!
I love to color and I do that too when I’m not feeling any Mojo. That’s a bummer about the phone. Always happens at the most inopportune times. 🙂

  3. I love this card! What a perfect way to brighten up the day after all of the dreary weather we’ve been having. I love the colored lights–even though I am a white light kind of gal when it comes to my own tree. And this year, I finally got my wish…1,000 lights on our Christmas tree thanks to my husband. Now I just have to finish hanging the ornaments and putting the boxes away. So much to do! Love the scarf! Have a great day!

    1. Thank you Linda! I definitely needed a little bright! I too like white lights, that’s a lot of lights on your tree! I need to finish mine! Maybe not! The scarf is great! I hope that you are having a great week! 🙂

  4. One of my favorite cards–and it’s too late to do it for this year! Appreciate the links to your store!
