Floral Merry Christmas

Happy weekend! It was another chilly day yesterday and we are to have some snow and rain today. The only consolation is that tomorrow it’s supposed get up into the 50’s! What a nice day I had at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The Card Class was great and everyone had a funΒ time! The night group is always a great group and they all had their cards finished in two hours! After work I headed over to Heather’s to help her take some of the Christmas presents over to Geroge’s house. He was out to dinner with friends so I got Heather on a Friday night! We laughed and watched some YouTube videos before I headed home around 12:30. Today Renee has a No-Frills Crop so I will get to see some of my ladies! I also have the pleasure of attending my old job’s Holiday Party! I’m going to pick up Danielle and head over later on tonight! It will be fun to see everyone again!

I just had to share this picture of Daniel and Tristan, it was one of the ones that they choose for their Christmas card this year…

They are both just so cute! It looks like they should be in a children’s clothing ad! I know, I’m biased! πŸ˜€

Today I have a quick simple card to share with you that uses a spring themed die for a Christmas card! I used the Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die to cut out the center of a piece of Herb Garden. To make some of the flowers and butterflies stand out I used my Versa-Mark Pen and some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder! I die cut the merry usingΒ the Hero Arts Merry Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Set from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and two pieces of Black 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The frame is then held over a piece of Chinese Red and the merry is put into place so that I could determine where to heat emboss the Christmas. I adhered the red to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Some 3M Foam Tape pieces are added to the back of the frame and it’s adhered to the red. I adhered the merry to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and used some more to add a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I do love that Floral Frame, especially with the small heat embossed sections and think that it makes for pretty Christmas card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! πŸ™‚

  1. Omigosh what a beautiful picture of Daniel and Tristan. Surely they bring so much happiness into your life! I love the design of your card and the traditional Christmas colors.

    1. Thank you Carol! They are so cute and such good kids! Glad that you like the card too! πŸ™‚

  2. Love the card Justin. I guess I’m partial to red and green at Christmas. I am not happy with the snow already this morning and can’t wait for it to melt away. Talk about not being able to go out, I’m like a shut-in when it snows! I have too much to do this week. After Christmas is a good time for snow. Ha. Ha. Daniel & Tristan do look like they belong in an ad.
Enjoy your day and party tonight.

    1. Thank you Nancy! I know that a lot of people like traditional and this card definitely looks “right” in red and green! I hate the snow! I would have thought that the rain would have gotten rid of more of it. Hopefully more will melt later and tomorrow. I think too about the kiddies! Enjoy the rest of your day too! πŸ™‚

  3. Love this card. Thanks for letting me know that Versamark comes in a pen!!! Beautiful picture of Daniel and Tristan.
The snow looks beautiful right now but hopefully will be gone by the afternoon. It does help put me into the Christmas spirit though.

    1. Thank you Judy! Love the Versa-Mark Pen! Glad that you like the picture too!
I don’t enjoy snow at all! Sorry! πŸ™‚

  4. Thank you Justin for the foto of Tristan and Daniel. They are so darling. What a nice card for christmas the two are. And your card is so outstanding. I will give it a try, because I have the Memory Box Die. Super idea. Have a nice relaxing weekend.

    1. You are welcome Ingrid! Thank you! Glad that you like the card too! Ahh, the Memory Box Die is fun too! Hope that you have a great weekend! πŸ™‚

  5. First, the photo of Daniel and Tristan just took my breath away! They are so beautiful, apart and together in their outfits. They both will be heartbreakers soon!
Second, your cards lately are so pretty, especially today.
Third, enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Aww, thank you Nancy! Yes, they are wonderful kids! Glad that you like the card! I hope that you are having a fantastic weekend my friend! πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Justin:

I, like Nancy, am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas cards. I’ve seen amazing cards that are all kinds of color combinations that are beautiful yet I love the reds and greens of Christmas just as I love the yellows, oranges, reds and browns of fall. I used to tell my Mom she was old fashioned – I guess it’s my turn for my kids to say that to me. LOL I love how you are able to take dies and stamps I would never think to use the ways you use them and yet, they always look beautiful. You’re really good at versatility with your stamps and dies. Me, not so good!

The photo of the Daniel and Tristan is just so heart warming and beautiful. Erica really does dress her children to the hilt! She must be having a great time picking out little girls dresses after all the gorgeous outfits she had for Daniel. They are both beautiful children and I’m sure it will be an amazing Christmas with them.

It’s snowing pretty hard right now. I’m not sure if it is supposed to turn to rain or not but, either way, I’m in for the day. Thankfully all my “have too’s” for the holidays are taken care of so I’m just playing catch up on stuff today. I’m putting some Christmas CD’s in the Bose and singing like crazy. Lucky for you, you aren’t here to hear me or you’d scream like a cat whose tail is being stepped on. Enjoy your day and your party tonight. Remember, drink responsibly! Love & Hugs to you my friend. 1. Hello Grace!
I do like a traditional card every once in a while but I definitely prefer non-traditional colors! I really like that Die and the fact that it’s a Spring one and you can really use it for everything! I’m glad that you like it!
I love those two cute little ones! Erika does do a fabulous job of making them look great!
I’m happy to report that all of our snow is gone and it’s a little over 50 degrees today! I have endured Christmas music at the Store for far too long! My party was great! I am not a big drinker and I drove my friend Danielle so I will be extra good! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  7. Wow! Justin, this is a beautiful card. I love that you used the pretty spring floral die to make this. Of course, Gold Mirror card is one of my favorites this season. Great job!! Thanks so much for sharing the adorable picture of Daniel and Tristan. I agree they should be in ads. Glad you’re getting some time to enjoy your friends during the holidays. I’ve been adding some decorations around the house today to make it a little more festive. Our son and his family will be here next week for a short visit and we don’t want to look like Scrooge!! We weren’t going to put out many decorations until we found out they were coming. The more we take out, the more we have to put away…read “lazy”. LOL. Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you HJ! I do like that Die a lot! I’m glad that they included it in the Valentine’s Catalog! I’m glad that you like the picture of my little niece and nephew! I love spending time with my friends and have gotten to do that a lot lately! I need to do something about my tree in my house, maybe tonight. That’s nice that you get to spend some time with your son and his family! I try to put out some decorations, not as many as I used to. Hope that you have are having a fantastic weekend! πŸ™‚

  8. Your niece and nephew are beautiful!!!! You are blessed.
i love this card, and I also cecked out yesterdays post from the card class. Beautiful creations, cant pick a favorite.

    50’s PLEASE send some here.

i am so lucky, I can proudly say that I have 4 college grads in my home. My final child graduated with honors from i
Iowa State on Friday. my prayers wre answered . The weather was good for our 5.5 hour drive there. We had a mini ice storm after the graduation but roads were salted pretty good and except for the stairs leaving the ceremony no much to complain of. And today we were ahead of the storm the whole way home.,

It is snowing like crazy now, and temps are dropping. We are back to single digits all week with below zero wind chills, thank God that spring is like 89 some days away! Yep, I’m counting down.

    Take care…

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I am very lucky to get to spend time with them!
Glad that you enjoyed the cards!! They ones from class were really popular!
I thought that you usually sent the weather my way? I’ll try to send it back over by you!
I’m glad that you trip was uneventful! Wow! You did a good job raising your kids!

  9. Lovely photo of the children, and great cards, always enjoy your blog.
Would you like some warmth, we have had 39+c here in Sydney….i.e. about 100F I think. I’d love to experience a white Christmas sometime. Today is cool and slight showers, but it will warm up and the humidity from the rain will be awful. Here endeth the weather report from downunder!!

    1. Thank you so much Narelle! I’m happy that you enjoy the blog! I’m glad that I get to share with all of you!
I would love some warmth! Anytime that you would like to switch you are welcome to come here and experience the frigid temps and snow! I don’t like the Winter at ALL!
Thank you for the weather update! Makes me want to come to Oz! Enjoy your week! πŸ™‚

Your niece & nephew are adorable!!! Love that bow in Tristan’s hair!
This card is awesome! I love the die cut and the gold embossing in the center is perfect. And of course the sequins… as always perfectly placed. Beautiful!

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thanks! I think that they are pretty neat! Glad that you agree!
Happy that you like the card too! The Die is great, love that it’s a Spring themed one and it works just fine for a Holiday card! Hope you have a lovely Sunday! πŸ™‚

  11. Justin, I wish you could come to Oz and maybe do some classes!!! (then it’s a tax deduction??)
Keep Warm and a very Merry Christmas.

    1. How much fun would that be Narelle?! I’ll have to look into that! Send some of your lovely weather this way and I’ll have no trouble keeping warm! Merry Christmas to you too! πŸ™‚

  12. Hey Justin I know I haven’t commented for quite sometime. My health has not been good last couple years, but I still read your blog every day. I have got to tell you about those kids. Omg. Daniel and Tristan are sooo adorable. Love that green bow in Tristans hair. They are absolutely gorgeous. Your card is pretty good too. Just kidding. I love that die you used as a frame. Fabulous die, gonna check into getting one for myself. I can see it having lots of uses, not just for Christmas either.

    1. Hello Cynthia! I was wondering what happened to you! I’m glad to “see” you again! I’m sorry that you haven’t been well, but I’m glad that you still come by! Thank! The kids are quite a lot of fun! I’m glad that you like the card too! I love that frame and it’s designed for spring but I think it works for so much! I hope to hear from you again soon! πŸ™‚

  13. Love the card and how you used spring products for a Christmas look! But., your card is overshadowed today by the sheer cuteness of your niece and nephew! Can anyone say Gap kids?! They are just adorable! I am sure this will be a very fun Christmas for you and your family with those little loves around!

    1. Thanks Linda! I love that Die and thought I’ll bet I can make it Christmasy! LOL! I know, they really very cute kids! Christmas will be great this year with them! Hope you have a nice day! πŸ™‚
