Freshly Made Sketches 267

I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Renee got to go into Manhattan, she had lunch at Eataly and went to The Shops at Bryant Park and then saw the tree! If she has pictures I’ll share some of them with you! Karen stopped by the store in the morning and I got to speak with my lovely friend Grace! After a little trip to the Post Office I worked on a few projects and made a card that I didn’t like at all! Wonder if you will ever see that one?! I also cut for Card Class, I was on top of things! LOL! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then ran to Target to pick up a few necessities including some of that Reindeer Confetti that I used on yesterday’s card! There is a link at the bottom to go to the Store and pick one up if you want! See that… always thinking of you guys! All that was left to do was to make my card for today! 😀

That card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I needed to use that fun My Monthly Hero Kit again so I heat embossed the sparklers in WOW! Metallic Gold, Silver and Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter onto Black Card Stock and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For my tag I used the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies and then cut off a little from the bottom to give me a shorter tag. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Metallic Silver Embossing Glitter. The secondary greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I cut the reinforcement from a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic, adhered it to the tag and then tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine thought the hole. All that was left to do was to adhere it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. How perfect is that Sparkle Embossing Glitter for those sparklers?! It’s also a pretty simple card with a lot of impact! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I always appreciate your visit and wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, great card. Love the colors and the “Adult-ness” of the card. I immediately saw it as a New Year’s Eve Party invitation. Looks great. I can’t believe I can get the reindeer confetti at Target! So close! Yes, thanks for sharing and thinking of us.
    Have a great day!
    🙂

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! Yes, it does have a nice adult feel to it and would make a great NYE invite! Love when I find fun stuff at the Dollar Spot! You have a fantastic day! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

Glitter, glitter, glitter, sparkle, sparkle, sparkle – I LOVE it! Big surprise there huh? LOL You knew I would love it! AND those die cuts are amazing. I think it’s amazing that the dies available to all of us these days are so intricate and so beautiful. Combined with the exact placement of stamping available with the use of the Misti I can’t imagine how the stamping world can get any better. What an exciting time to have stamping as a hobby. I know that I have two hobbies that totally satisfy my needs – quilting when I want a long time working on a creative piece and stamping when I need some fast gratification. Can’t get any better then this. Well, if I could find a cleaning person that cleans for free life would be perfect!

I hope you have a sparkling day today. I have errands to run later and want to get them all done before the sub zero and high winds come through the area this afternoon. The next two days are supposed to be brutal and I intend to spend them “playing” in my craft room while the wind is howling outside. Love and hugs to you my friend, it was great getting to talk to you yesterday. XXOO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
