Magical Pink Birthday

Despite the overcast weather and a little bit of drizzle in the afternoon I had a really nice day in Manhattan yesterday! The train was empty on the way in and on the way home! I went and visited my friends Jon and Mary in the morning and then walked from 86th and West End Avenue to 57th and Lexington Avenue. I got my steps in yesterday, a total of 6 1/2 miles! I wandered around Midtown and then went to visit my friend Carolyn and got to meet her parents! They were very nice people! After the city I stopped home and dropped off my backpack and went over to BK Sweeney’s to meet my friend Jim for dinner. I also ran into my friend Melissa, so great to see her! After a little coffee at Starbucks and some dessert I called it a night. I’ll be happy to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today, I have missed it!

The card that I have to share with you today is one that I made for one of Taylor’s friends for her birthday a while ago. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor card and spritzed it with a little water. My flying unicorn is from the Waffle Flower Magical Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the wings. The magical is cut out using the Waffle Flower Magical Word Die from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper. My background is adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and the unicorn and word with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s definitely a very girly card, perfect for the sweet 16’s recipient! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a very nice Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin,
Sounds like you had a lovely time in the city. Plus, you certainly got your exercise in.
Your card is so sweet! It reminds me of my nieces when they were little.

    1. Hello Gerri!
I do love a trip into the city and the best part is all of the exercise that I get!
Glad that you enjoyed the card! It’s definitely a very girly card! 🙂

  2. I’m so glad you were able to see so many friends in the City. Six and half miles is enough exercise for a while in my book!! Your card is beautiful and I know Taylor’s friend loved it. Your coloring is awesome. Have a great day.

    1. Me too HJ! I do so enjoy the city! I wish that I could get 6 1/2 miles in every day! Glad that you like the card and yes, Taylor’s friend really did enjoy it! I hope that you are enjoying your week! 🙂

  3. Ahhh . . . routines are nice. This card is a great birthday card, after all, aren’t birthdays magical?!

  4. Gorgeous, I’m sure she love this card. OMG 6.5 miles, wow, want to wear my FitBit?

We had spring yesterday, made it to 50 degrees, just beautifull. Then the winds shifted and the cold moved in. hubby and I took our sons out to breakfast before one went to work and the other went back home. Just a relaxing day, and Mojo came by, two cards done.

    1. Thank you Linda, yes, she did like the card, she’s a very pink girl! I love to get a nice long walk in while I’m in the city! My Apple Watch tracks all of my steps! I can wear yours next time and get your steps up too!
It was the same here! I almost put the top down in the car on the way home! Now, the same, chilly again! Love that you get to see your kids so much! Don’t you just love when Mojo sneaks up?! 🙂
