Paper Craft Crew 222

I felt a little punky yesterday, my stomach was a little off and I had a headache in the morning. I felt it coming before I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and as usual, I think it will get better but it didn’t until I finally broke down and took some Excedrin. Finally around 2:00 I felt better and finally got to start on some of my projects. When I got to my Parent’s I got a very nice surprise, my little buddy Daniel was there and so were Tristan, my Brother and Erika! Tristan sat with Erika while I ate dinner and she was fascinated by me for some reason! She just kept smiling and laughing. After I finished eating Daniel was ready for me to build some buildings so he could knock them down! He did share a cookie with me with Erika said he does that with no one else! It’s official, I’m the favorite! LOL! It started to rain as I made my way to my house and once inside I watched a little TV and relaxed. Today they are starting on the parking lot at the Store, that should be loads of fun! 😀

We are at mid-week so today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Authentique Classic Christmas 12×12 Paper. Down the left I flagged both ends of a piece of Black and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. For my focal point I die cut a piece of Gold Glitter Card and a piece of Ice Gold Curios Metallic using the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and adhered them to each other and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My ornaments are from the Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Cut Set, I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 48lb Vellum, cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the circles with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Black with both ends flagged, it’s adhered with Black 3D Foam Squares. I have missed my sequins so I added a few Gold Pretty Pink Posh ones to finish off the card. I love the almost monochromatic look with the gold and kraft and I still think the ornaments are amazing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to visit with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Gold, black and music notes–you are hitting some of my favorite high notes (get it?!) for holiday cards! Hope you are feeling better and that the construction ends soon! Have a great day!

    1. Yay! I too am a bog fan of music paper or newsprint Linda! LOL! Yup, got it! I am feeling much better, must have been something that I ate. I can’t wait for the construction to be over, I’m over it! Hope that you had a wonderful day! 🙂

  2. WOW! Your card for today is not beautiful, it’s STUNNING! I think this is the most beautiful card I’ve see all season and I’ve seen some amazing cards. The Kraft and gold accentuated with black is so chic! This card is rich, joyful, romantic and meaningful all put together. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

So sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well yesterday. Did you ever get the heat in your apartment straightened out? I hate having a headache. It is totally debilitating to me. I take some Tylenol as soon as one starts to try to avoid the pain that doesn’t even let me open my eyes to light. Glad you are better and that you were feeling well enough to get to play with Daniel and share his cookie! Yes, you are number one and not just with Daniel. LOL

Snowing again this morning. I have a feeling this year we will be inundated with snow to make up for the lack of it last year. That’s a good thing as I don’t want to face another year of drought. The ski resorts here have been open since Thanksgiving week and boy, the owners are smiling away. You have yourself a “feeling great” day today. Love and hugs to you my friend! XXOO 🙂

    1. Well, that you very much Grace! I realy do love your descriptions of my cards!! You have a wy with words my friend!
The heat in my apartment is the same, but I think that I have gotten used to it. I really do need to start taking aspirin as soon as I feel the headache, they really do put me out of commission! I think that Daniel is just better than an Excedrin! He always makes me feel great! Aww, thanks Grace!!
Again, you can keep all of your snow! I think that snow in ski resort areas is where it should all stay! Hope you had a nice day! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  3. Justin,
Love this card!! I especially love the gold embossed on the black. Stunning!!! The ornaments are just beautiful too!

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thank you! Those ornaments are great, love the stamp set! Hope you are having a good week! 🙂

  4. Awesome! Kraft, gold, black awesome combo. Glad you are feeling better…..cookie sharing always helps. So does Excedrin

I somehow got a fricken cold, sore throat ….the works. GRR…..no time for this nonsense

    1. Thank you Linda! Cookie sharing with a three year old makes everyone feel better for sure and no, the Excedrin doesn’t hurt!
Oh no! I hate having a cold! Overdose on Echinacea and Vitamin C!! Fell better! 🙂

  5. Wow! What a totally fabulous card, Justin. I love the embossed vellum ornaments, etc. The colors together make a very pretty card. Glad your headache subsided and you got to have some time with Daniel. Good luck with getting the parking lot paved in a timely manner. I hope parking for customers to get to your shop is not impaired much. Take care.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! I do like the kraft and the gold with the black and the ornaments are fun! I always love my Daniel time! Nothing construction wise here takes the amount of time it’s supposed to! So annoying! 🙂

  6. What a gorgeous card. It’s so very elegant looking. I haven’t visited your blog in awhile and I do miss your Stampin’ Up creations. Still lots of great cards–so many stamps, so little time. Congratulations on your new business!

    1. Thank you so much Shari!! I miss Stampin’ Up! too but there is so much other awesome stuff out there I couldn’t resist! Glad that you still enjoyed the card! Thank you! If you ever stray you know where to come! 🙂
