SIP Challenge 79 – Anything But Christmas!

Yes, another freezing cold day! What a way to start the week… NOT! Luckily when I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store my Lawn Fawn and MFT orders were delivered early so I got those checked in. Almost all of the Lawn Fawn is gone! Guess I’ll have to do a re-order on that one! I had to run to the Post Office to mail out some orders and the line was crazy long but I ended up talking to lady in front of me which made for a nice wait. When I got back to the store I worked on my card for today which was a lot of fun to make! After work I went over to Geroge’s to have dinner with Heather and him. From there Heather and I went out to see Patty and Tom for a bit. When we got back to Geroge’s we hung out for a while, watched some TV and then I came home. Today I have a lot that I want to get accomplished, I would like to start working on my cards for next month’s class and get a Newsletter out! 😀

Today I have the pleasure of sharing my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I don’t know about you but I’m all Christmas’d out at this point! LOL! Plus now is a good time to get a head start on all of those thank you and birthday cards that you will need for the new year! I used the December My Monthly Hero Kit to make a very sparkly birthday card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I used the Hero Arts Party Confetti Fancy Die to cut out a stencil from a piece of Solar White 80lb. I taped the stencil over the card front with some Washi Tape and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply Grape Juice Ink. Next up I cut out a frame from a piece of Gold Glitter Card using the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangles Dies and adhered a piece of Acetate and a perimeter of 3m From Tape to the back. Some Little Things by Lucy Purple Velvet Sequins Mix is added to the card front and the frame is adhered over the top to seal in all of that sparkly goodness! My images and greeting are from the December My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with Copics and used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. The greeting is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card and two pieces of Solar White 110lb, they are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of the images and greeting are then adhered to the Acetate with more 3M Foam Tape. I do love all of the sparkle from the Gold Glitter Card and Sequins! What a fun birthday this will be to send to someone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Anything But Christmas Challenge! 1. Hi Justin,
Another fun card! Love the shaker cards… this one is great!
It’s too cold out there. I’m ready for Spring.

  2. Love this one Justin! Very colorful and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shaker card that was the entire front of a card. Putting the small images (cake, etc.) on the front of the acetate instead of inside the shaker really does give this card a lot of dimension. By the way, I would allow you to send this one to me as a belated birthday card – my birthday was yesterday and I won’t tell you how old I am. LOL Just really, really old will do.

Spent yesterday buying a setting up a new printer since the old one bit the dust on Friday. I positively, absolutely must have a working printer at all times. The new one is a bit bulky for the space I have but I’m hoping it won’t turn out to be a pain to deal with. Installation was easy, it practically installed itself once we had it all connected. I sure am glad the hubs came with me to carry it in, unbox it and get it connected to the computer. It’s really heavy. Then we went to Applebee’s for supper and hubby had steak and I had their wonderful ribs with the best ever mac & cheese and fresh broccoli. It was all delicious. Today I will be playing catchup for all the things I didn’t get done yesterday. The sun is shining and it’s a bit chilly out there but no wind and clear skies for now. Have yourself a Tremendous Tuesday my friend. Love and hugs to you, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace,
Happy belated Birthday! Hope you enjoyed your day. No worries, age is just a number! Have a great day. Hugs, Donna 🙂

    2. Thanks so much Grace! I’m so mad that I missed your birthday! Not a very good friend! I hope that you had a lovely day! You are not really old, you are wonderful!
I’m glad that you got your new printer and it’s all set up! Hubs is great! Mmmmm, your dinner sounds lovely! I love their mac and cheese! Hope you got your stuff done and that you had a nice day! Love and hugs to you! 🙂

  3. Love your color choices. I reallylike hoe Hero Arts products can be used for multiple occasions. Yep, I’m with you, done with Christmas. Not the day or seson, just the prep. And its funny I still have gifts to wrap.

My sons cell phone died so I had to go with him yesterday to get a new one. He’s not the account holder…..So we drive an hour to the only store that had his phone. and guess what, “We are sorry, that email was sent in error, we have no phone” I was flippin. My son works night shift security and really needs a phone so he was like, “Fine just set me up with something else” Store manager, “I’m sorry but since this phone is still on your account we need the account to clear or you are not eligible, my take up to 48 hours” “But you never had the phone,” right but ts on your account”

Long story short Sprint refused to credit our account because the ordered phone is somewhere. Per their records. My son is off today he can solve this problem,

    Inflippin incredible!!!

So I need to get gifts done today. Take care

    1. Thanks Linda! I love Hero Arts goodies! I still have gifts to buy so you are ahead of me!
OMG! There would be a big hole where the cellphone store was! How annoying! Happy Holidays from Sprint! I would contact corporate and make a big stink and see if they will make it up to you. That’s ridiculous!
I hope that you got your gifts finished and that you have a good first day of work! 😉

  4. Beautiful card, Justin. It makes a great New Year’s card, but also using the same elements can be a fun birthday card. Happy Birthday, Grace. Glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday dinner and your new printer is working, which is always a plus.

    1. Thank you HJ! I would work for New Year’s, or a birthday for sure! Isn’t it nice that we get to wish each other Happy Birthday here?! Hope you had a good day! 🙂
