Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Well, I think that I experienced a new level of freeing cold yesterday! Not so much the temperature which was 22 but the wind was had gusts up to 60mph! It was the kind of cold that gets into your bones and you can’t get rid of it! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun! My friend Jan comes in between the two times so she can be nice and relaxed! She does such a great job when she does! I had to run out to the Post Office, I drove because it was way too cold and windy to walk! Renee and I spent the rest of the day finishing up projects and around 5:15 my little buddy Daniel called me to ask me when I was coming home because he was waiting for me! I left at 5:30, can’t keep that little boy waiting! When I got my Parent’s I had dinner with him and Taylor. After he showed me a new truck that he wants, I’m sure that my Parent’s have already bought it! LOL! He also insisted that we take a selfie! He members better than I do!

As you can see from the picture he was trying to push the button! My Parents took him home around 7:00 and I headed over to Heather’s to get her so that we could run some errands. We finished that quickly and went back to her house. I helped her wrap one of George’s Christmas Gifts and was home by 10:30. Today is the second day of Card Class sure to be even more fun! 🙂

I have seen a few requests in the comments recently asking me to share more of the things that I do at the Store so today I’m sharing the four projects that we made in this month’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class. The featured company is Hero Arts!

The first card is the shaker! I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies to cut out the window from a piece of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Fun Foam. Then I traced the inside the window onto a piece of Moonstone Blue. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe and the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Holiday Mittens Stamp & Die Combo in Tide Pool. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Black. Next I added the Acetate to the back of the white panel and and then adhered the Fun Foam with E-Z Runner. Some Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter is sprinkled on the blue and then the white window panel is adhered to it with more E-Z Runner. My tree is from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo, it’s stamped in Mint Julep and Tide Pool. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying so that I could emboss the snow layer in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. The tree is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the card, it’s a simple shaker but looks like you are looking out of an apartment window at the Brooklyn Bridge in the snow!

The second card is another simple Christmas card. I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with Mint Julep Ink. My tags are from the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Stamp & Die Combo. The large tag is stamped in Dark Quatz and the smaller one is heat embossed with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine into a bow and adhered the panel to my card base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The tags are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins are added with two to hide the adhesive holding on the Vellum tag. Love the simplicity of the card and the different colors!

My third card is actually one that I CASE’d from Yana Smakula! As soon as I saw the card I loved it and had to make it right away! The background is created by stamping some of the images from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Die Combo, the first layer is heat embossed in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing powder and the second layer in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add a little Soft Pool Ink to highlight the heat embossed images. Next I used the die from the set to cut out a notch in the side of the card. I turned the card over and placed a gift card so that it showed though the notch and traced around it on a piece of Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the place where the gift card was traced onto the Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the background. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhered the greeting over a piece of Natural Twine and then adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are added, a gift card is slipped into the slot and the twine is tied in a bow! I really do love the idea of this card, that Yana is so clever!

Finally, instead of another card this month I thought it would be neat to make two quick and easy tags! All of the images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped the jars in Soft Pool, the trees in Green Hills, the deer and bear in Cup O Joe and the house in Wet Cement. A little snow is stamped in more Soft Pool and then they are cut out using the Coordinating Dies. I punched a hole in the top and tied some Natural Twine though. Super simple yet really neat gift tags! That Winter Scene Set is still a favorite of mine!

  1. Nice cards and tags Justin. I’m thinking what to do. That card with the gift card is really neat. I might be CASEing that.
I wish I lived closer and could come to some of your card classes. It’s freezing cold here too, I didn’t go outside yesterday except for about 2 minuets, the wind was brutal.

    1. Thank you so much Virginia!! I love that gift card card holder! Yana is pretty clever!
I wish that you lived closer too! We are having the same weather as you! I’m over it! Stay warm! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin, I love your choice of cards this month. I especially love the gift/birthday card. Things are very around here just because of the holidays. Did you put a tree up yet? Daniel is growing up too fast and is so, so handsome! Look at that face . . . you can just read his mind.
    Happy Friday.
    🙂

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you! I thought the cards were fun and so did the class! I have a little tree up and will put one that is slightly bigger up tomorrow. When I get it done I’ll post it on the blog. I do love my little Daniel! He is growing up so fast, and he is so clever! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin!

I positively, absolutely HAVE to get to one of your classes. I loved every single one of these but especially the tags. I bet those classes are so much fun and I need to do a shaker card just to avoid being so intimated by them! LOL I bet the people in class go gaga over them!

Daniel is growing up way too fast. He is quickly losing that toddler look and becoming a mini man. He is just so cute and I love that he loves you so much. What a great selfie and so much fun. Thanks for sharing and I know he is going to be such a joy to be around Christmas day with all the excitement that only children can bring to a holiday.

Freezing our bazoonie off here but it’s so beautiful with the sun shining on the snow that it makes up for the below zero temperatures. Now I just want good weather from the day after Christmas until New Year’s Day so that we can be with our children and share Christmas with them and some of our very dear friends. Wishing you a Fantastic Friday and hoping all the construction will soon be done so you can enjoy being at the store even more. Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you so much! The classes are a lot of fun and the people are great! I would be happy to take the intimidation out of the shaker for you!
Yes, he is growing up way too fast! He is a little love and really enjoy spending time with him!
We too are all freezing here! We had three inches of snow this morning and then rain so it’s like a big slurpee outside! Over it! LOL! I hope that you had a great day! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂
