Freshly Made Sketches 271

Not a lot to report today! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was quiet, I did get to work on some of my projects and that is always a good thing. I left a little early and came home and watched TV, had dinner and watched some more TV. Aren’t I just super exciting lately?! Today Renee has a private crop and I’ll get to see some of the ladies. That is always fun. What’s on for you this weekend?

My little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Sometimes my card starts with the idea that I want to use a particular set, that’s what happened with this card. I began by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts For You Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Soft Pink, Bubble Gum and Crimson Hybrid and cut them out with the coordinating Frame Cuts. The leaves are stamped in Green Apple Hybrid and Lime Green right on the card front. Next up I added a strip of American Crafts Rouge Glitter Tape across the top and bottom of where I was going to mount my main panel. The flowers are then adhered and the main panel added over them with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Set. I cut the love out of a piece of Chinese Red and two pieces of Solar White 110lb. They are adhered to each other and to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Last thing to do was to stamp the you so much, also from the Love Stamp & Cut Set, in Crimson Hybrid. I decided not to add anything else to the card, I like it just the way it is! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a stupendous Saturday! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Justin, I like this card very much. Just enough pop of glitter. I can see sending this to a few close friends or relatives. Not too gushy! Ha. Ha.
    Have a great Saturday.

  2. Great design on this card! I like how you layered all of the elements. Don’t worry about being “super exciting”! Sometimes we all need to slow down and “just be”. You’re doing great!

  3. Hi Justin! This is a beautiful card. I like the 3 shades of pink/red. But wait! No sequins? I guess you are not yourself lately. Hey, that happens to the best of us, and YOU are one of the best. Take advantage of the slowness of your life right now. Your body must need the rebuilding time, and you will be back to your sequin glittering self in no time.
I am subscribing today. I am getting ready for my total hip replacement surgery. I WILL be back soon(?), but I shall return. I’ll be in good hands. In the meantime, you take very good care of yourself. I am counting on all the friends here and at home to look after you.
Love and hugs to you and yours, Nancy B

    1. Hello Nancy! I really did try to add sequins but it just looked nice with none at all! Nope, haven’t been myself. That is really sweet of you to say! LOL! Maybe all I need is a little more glitter and sequins! LOL!
Oh, I will be thinking about you! We can’t wait for you to be back and good as new! Love and hugs to you!! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. First of all – Nancy, thinking of you and including you in my prayer list for a successful surgery and quick and easy recovery.

Justin – On your “slow” days you do twice as much as I do! LOL Yes, it sounds like you have the mid winter blues which comes to those people who really need sunshine. Not to worry, it’s almost February and soon the clocks will be turned ahead for an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day. From there are – spring will be here in no time.

Meanwhile, I fell in love instantly with these flowers. I have a lot of flower sets but none with the three part stamping. Your design is gorgeous and I love the dimension you’ve added. The glitter tape – well that is the coup de gras (hope I spelled that right) of this particular card. Just beautiful. One question – how did you know where to stamp the leaves on the base before adding the florals? You are amazing. Love ya, XXOO πŸ™‚ Wishing you a spectacular Saturday.

    1. LOL! Yes, I might do a lot but not as much as I’m used to. I do have a touch of the Winter Blues, it will pass soon. I really can’t wait for Spring, warmer weather and longer days!
I’m so glad that you like the set! I used the panel to draw pencil lines so that I would know where to stamp the leaves! Guess I forgot to mention that! Oops! Love you my friend! XOXOXOXO πŸ™‚

  5. This is beautiful. I like how you placed the sentiment over the flowers, and the colors are gorgeous.

It is SPRING!!!! here. upper 50’s blue sky and sunshine which we have not had fior 5 days. Oh I know we will get punished for ths weather but its so worth it. Hubby is fixing my brakes right now, then tonight we are going to see a movie, Hidden Figures.

OK since I have no wheels, mojo is calling. Yep, I know i should start on housework……

    1. Thank you so much Linda!
I’m so glad that you are having some warmer weather! I want to see that movie, I heard it’s really good!
Nope, housework will wait! LOL! πŸ™‚

  6. Wow! This is just a stunner, Justin! Your take on the sketch is wonderful and I love the colors you used on the flowers. Makes me feel like spring is here even though we still have 2 more months to go (or just under 2 months). Makes me inspired to get my craft on, but I’m not home so I can’t do anything. ARGH! Naturally, when I get home I either won’t have the incentive to craft or I won’t have the time.

    1. Thanks Christy! I needed a little Spring, I’m done with Winter! LOL! You need to get in your craft room! Pull out a set and just got for it! πŸ™‚
