Freshly Made Sketches 272

Happy Friday! I had a little private class with two ladies at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday morning. It was so much fun! I also had time to catch up on a lot of things that I had gotten behind on. After work I stopped by my Parent’s house and saw Daniel for a bit and then came home and straightened up quickly. I had the pleasure of hosting Thirsty Thursday last night! It was just Heather and Stephanie and I, which is more than enough! We had a fun time! Today I need to get lots of orders together at the Store and then I’m having dinner with a friend tonight. A nice way to finish out the week! 😀

While I was going through some supplies the other day I came across my Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die and that’s what inspired me to make my card for today! It’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! But before we get to this week’s sketch I want to thank Karren for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

So I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die from some Black and adhered it to a base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock. In between the two I added a strip of American Crafts Plum Glitter Tape. Next I stamped my flowers and leaves from the Aletnew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set using my Mini MISTI in Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet. The leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Sketchy Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Mix Sequins and the card is done! I love the flowers in the purples and the unexpected filmstrip peeking out from behind them! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks very much for spending some of your Friday with me! Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  1. Hey . . . have a great weekend.
Love the colors and the contrast of this card. The flowers could be growing up the filmstrip. Nice.
    🙂

    1. Hey you! You have a great weekend too!
I love that Film Strip die is great, yup they could be growing up the Filmstrip! Thank you! 🙂

  2. Justin,
Beautiful card! I never would have thought to use the filmstrip in that way. It’s Perfect!!

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thank you! It’s funny, I looked at the Filmstrip die and then saw the flowers! Love when the card just pops into my little brain! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin:

First of all Congratulations on your top pick for FMS! Today’s card is another that shows you know exactly how much white space to leave on a card front!!!!! The color combinations you use for your flowers and leaves are perfect and the stamping is flawless. I agree that I would not have thought to use the filmstrip die this way but then again I”m me and your the stamping genius! I think one of the most artistic traits you have is the color combinations you use when triple stamping. I usually have to try several combinations before coming up with one I think is suitable. So, I envy you that talent. Needless to say I think this card is amazingly beautiful and anyone would be lucky to receive it.

Glad you had a good day yesterday. We have actually had some quick peeks of sun this morning but boy, it sure would be wonderful to have an entire sunny day for a change. I think it would brighten everyone’s spirits. Housework today and then I need to finish up a few Valentine’s cards for my great nieces and nephews. The little ones love to get mail. Try mailing Daniel a card and see his amazing reaction to having the mailman bring something with just his name on it. You have yourself a Fun Filled Friday my friend. Love & Hugs to you, XXOO 🙂
