Paper Players 327

Happy almost Friday! We had another gloomy day here again, but not too cold so not too bad. Renee and I both worked on projects at the Store today. Tomorrow is National Popcorn Day so we are having a Pop-In to make a project event. Should be fun. After work I had dinner and then came home and turned on the TV. My exciting nights continue. I always try to keep everything positive but have you ever had that feeling like someone has tied a rock to you and thrown you in a lake. No matter how hard you try to you just can’t seem to get to the surface. That’s me lately. Things will get better I hope sooner rather than later. πŸ˜€

In keeping with my simpler cards I have one to share with you for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I used the Lawn Fawn Love Letters Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the bird and speech bubble on some Solar White 80lb. I used Copics to color in the bird and then used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. I decided where I wanted them to go on the card and then stamped the back and front envelopes on another piece of Solar White 80lb. The hearts are colored in with Copics and then the panel is adhered to a piece of Black and then to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added the bird and speech bubble, adhering them with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! Super simple but I love the stamped background! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you so much for visiting! Have a good Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Great card!! Hang tough, Justin! This is a bad time of year for a lot of people….dark gloomy days, dreary weather….I think I read where the 3rd Monday in January is the most depressing day of the year. You’re not alone!! I, too, feel like I’m in a “rut”. ?

    1. Thank you Lynn! Yes, it’s the short days and so many other things right now. I need to kick myself out of this! πŸ™‚

  2. This card brought a big smile to my face today, Justin. Any recipient would love receiving it. Great job on the color challenge. Since you haven’t been up to par lately and the weather is drab, that’s enough to drag anyone down. You are always a really upbeat person and that will return soon. Take care and know you have a ton of peeps in your corner, my friend!

    1. Yay! Thanks HJ! I did have a lot of fun with the card, especially the colors! I don’t like being drab, it’s not me! I love that I have all of you in my corner and that makes me instantly happy! πŸ™‚

  3. Oh Justin, I love this card and I love the address. Today is Thirsty Thursday and that is something to look forward to tonight. Tomorrow is National Popcorn Day . . . OMG! That is my favorite snack.

  4. OMG, Justin! This card is so tweet! (I can’t resist a good pun!) Seriously I LOVE it! I so wish I lived a little closer to the store and had less on my plate so that I could pop into the store today. But between work deadlines, getting Melissa ready to go back to school on Sunday and my Book Club meeting tonight, that’s not going to happen. (Insert sad face emoji!) I hope you have fun! Sorry to hear that you still don’t feel like yourself. (AHEM… Did I hear someone say DOCTOR?) Seriously, hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. Have you watched This Is Us yet?

  6. Hi Justin:

A fabulous card today! I love the background and the pops of red with the bird and the hearts is absolutely just the right amount. Now I’m going to have to get you to order that stamp set for me! This is the perfect Valentine card for friends. Not too mushy but just perfect to put an “I miss you hug” inside.

Total recovery time from the “bug” is 2 weeks. You should be almost there. Or, to brighten your day, we had snow yesterday all day and last night. See you just had dreary, we had snow – pick which one you would prefer! LOL A few more weeks and we will be turning the clocks ahead for another hour of daylight. There, that should brighten your day. Have yourself a Terrific Thursday my friend. love and hugs to you, XXOO πŸ™‚

  7. Oh Justin. When I lived in Queens / Manhattan I would get what I called the mid winter blues. This will pass. Just keep breathing. Pamper yourself. Have your favorite hot drink, watch your favorite movies. Know we are pulling for you.

    1. Thanks Linda! Yes, I definitely have the Winter Blues. It does help to know that I have all of you! πŸ™‚

  9. What a cute card!!! Aboslutely ADORABLE Justin, and it cheered me right up after a looooong and hectic week… that is thankfully coming to a close with your favorite day tomorrow… FRIDAY!!! πŸ™‚ You inspire so many of us with your daily dose of creativity and humor, so if you are having a hard time, especially with this drab weather (which could be worse and much colder, but still!) & just not having your energy back, it’s completely understandable. I like all the kind & supportive sentiments above, and I especially like both Linda’s suggestions… I can SO relate and plan on taking some time for me with that fav warm drink and my softest blanket this weekend!!! Plus tomorrow is Popcorn Day?!! Woooo hoooo!!!! I am smiling more already and hope you are too!!! Take care and know things can & will improve, even if it’s not as fast as we would like!!! πŸ™‚ Sending you HUGS across the miles!!!!!

    1. Thank you very much Laurie! Yes, I still do love Friday’s even though I’m a 7 day a week person! I appreciate the understanding. This is definitely not me, I just have way too many things going on right now. They will straighten themselves out soon one way or the other. I appreciate all of the kindness, it really does help! Hugs back to you! πŸ™‚

  10. Hi Justin,
    This card is adorable!
I have that same rock lately. Politics and the weather have got me down. But I am determined to not let it defeat me. Life is short. We need to enjoy every day we can. Smile. Think of all the good people surrounding us. πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Gerri,
      Thanks!
You are absolutely right! Life is too short to let things get us down! I need a trip to the city! That would help! And all of my peeps are the best part of every day! πŸ™‚
