SIP Challenge 80 – Card Makers Choice!

Well, yesterday was definitely a Monday! When I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store I found out that we had no electricity! One thing after another! Renee and Angie were there so I decided that I would come home and work on some projects that I needed to get finished. It was a rainy day anyway and what better place to be than in the Stampin’ Galley! I did that until dinner time and then after that I came home and watched a little TV before running to Target to get a few essentials. Hopefully the power will be back on at the Store today! Who knows what’s next! πŸ˜€

I’m happy to announce that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

I have been on a quest lately to come up with relatively simple cards that don’t look simple! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Gray. The background is a piece of paper from the Authentique Believe 12×12 Collection. My greeting is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Card Stock and a piece of Black 110lb. The black is adhered to a piece of 48lb Vellum with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then the Silver Glitter is adhered on top and slightly offset. Next I added a few Silver, Watermelon and Mossy Green Pretty Pink Posh Sequins. After they dried I applied a little Multi-Matte Medium behind the greeting and sequins to adhered the Vellum to the card. I think that card definitely doesn’t look simple but it really wasn’t too complicated to put together and is easily duplicated if you wanted to make a set as a gift for someone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice Challenge! Make sure you stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fantastic inspiration cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for visitingΒ today! Have an exciting Tuesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Justin:

I just love glitter paper! The best part about using it is that it draws the eye right to it and, against the vellum with your floral background paper, it really jumps out. Great card and the blog certainly showed off a lot of talent from the SIP group.

We had lost electricity while we were on vacation and did without it for 2 days after we returned home so I know how annoying that is. Unfortunately for our area, we are prepared to lose it again if the weather prediction is accurate. The talk is that we could possibly receive up to half an inch of ice tonight into tomorrow. In that scenario we will be running generator power once again. Hope things are back to normal for you today. Have a Terrific Tuesday my friend. XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I like the little sliver of black peeking out, makes the greeting really pop!
Thankfully the lights are back on today. It’s annoying to loose electric anywhere but at the store it makes to hard to do anything. Sounds like you have some bad weather headed your way, stay safe! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. Very pretty card, Justin. I love the vellum over the pretty floral paper and the silver glitter greeting with, of course, sequins. I hope there is electricity at the store. Glad you made the best of a bad situation. Have a great day!

    1. Thank you HJ! I love a little Vellum, give the card a nice soft feel! We have electric today thankfully! Can’t let anything get you down. You have a fantastic day! πŸ™‚

  3. I love your card, Justin! Simple is the way to go these days after all of the holiday festivities. My tree and decorations stay up until the Little Christmas on the 6th. While I am not ready for the work involved in de-Christmasing my house, I am looking forward to getting things back in order. Just hoping I can remember where things all go. Hope you have power at the store today? Was the outage due to the work or the rain?

    1. Thank you so much Linda! Yes, I definitely needed some simple! I don’t know when I will take my tree down, I actually like all of the Starbucks ornaments on it! We have power! It was something underground that affected it. No clue why! πŸ™‚
