SIP Challenge 82 – Natural Elements!

Still not feeling great! It has been over a week, I’m over the stuffy head! I was only at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store in the morning, I left around 2:00 to go over and work on some things with my friend Sue. I got to see my friend Buddy too! He’s a 60+ pound lap dog! LOL! So lovable and cute though! After I left Sue’s I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and then it was time for TV once again. I wish I had more energy when I get home, time go cold! 😀

I’m having another big SALE over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Web Store! You can take 30% off anything in the CHA Clearance section and 40% off all products in the 2016 Holiday collection! The sale is on through Wednesday! The codes are CHAFIN17 for the 30% and CHAHOLFIN17 for the 40%!

I did make a quick card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge and that’s what I have to share with you today…

Ahh… Natural Elements, we all know how I enjoy a little woodgrain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I wanted a piece of newsprint and couldn’t find one so I went to good old Google and printed a sheet out from there. It’s cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Infinity Dies and adhered to the background with E-Z Runner. My tag is a piece of Kraft and I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp on it in Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting and all of the other images are from the January My Monthly Hero Kit. I heat embossed the greeting onto the bottom of the tag with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. My images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, the rose and bow in Red Royal and the leaves in Green Hills and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and used a Craft Knife to cut slits in the jar so I could pass the stem through. Everything except for the bow is adhered with Tombo Dot Runner. I used a 3D Foam Square to adhered the bow. A little dot of Multi-Matte Medium holds the twine in place and the card is done! I have said it before, I love the way flowers look against a woodgrain background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Natural Elements Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin . . . do you think it is time to go to the doctors? I like this card so much. I like the colors, the single rose, the red bow and the “natural” elements including the paper DSP in the background and the twine.
    🙂

    1. Hey Nancy! With no medical the Dr is not an option. Glad that you like the card! Hope you are enjoying your week! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

It took me 2 full weeks plus a few days to get over the “bug”. Then I felt great for about a week and now I’m into the stuffy nose/clearing my throat thing. So maybe it would be wise to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics.

Today’s card, in addition to being an adorable “encouragement” type card would make an awesome Valentine’s Day card too. Love the single rose in the mason jar. So sweet and so pretty. I too love to use the woodgrain background stamp. It’s probably one of the most versatile stamps I own.

Hope you are feeling better soon. We are preparing for another snow storm tonight into tomorrow. This afternoon we will make a trip to Sam’s Club to restock supplies and pick up some gas for the generator in case we lose electricity yet again. You have yourself a Terrific Tuesday my friend. Hugs from the North Country – XXOO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
The cold is just lingering, it’s so annoying! No Dr. for me, no medical. Hopefully it will be gone soon!
The woodgrain background is definitely one of my favorites, I use it enough! LOL!
We have just had a lot of rain, better than snow. It’s very gloomy here which isn’t helping with the mood! Hope that you didn’t get too much snow! Love and hugs to you my friend! XOXO 🙂

  3. Fabulous card! I love the mix of woodgrain and newsprint! I’m sorry that you still aren’t feeling well. I do think its time to go to the doctor, my friend. They will probably tell you that its viral but it’s better to be safe than sorry and you have CHA coming up so you need your energy!

    1. Thank you Linda! Love my Google Newsprint Paper! LOL! I really am not happy about how long I have had this cold! No Dr., no medical! The joys of being a small business owner! LOL! 🙂

  4. What a great card, Justin. I love the woodgrain with the newspaper and the mason jar with rose. The greeting may be something you should follow…about slowing down and taking it easy. Just consider your peeps here as sisters caring about you. Every day I keep hoping to hear you are feeling some better. Take care. You and your family have been through a lot with everyone having this bug. Time and possibly antibiotics are the answer.

    1. Thank you very much HJ! You know how I love a little woodgrain and the newsprint was cool to get from the internet! I have benn taking it easy, I don’t do much once I get home. I do appreciate you guys a lot! I’m getting better just not completely. I’m giving it until the end of the week! LOL! And then it has to be gone! 🙂
