Sweet Mint Chocolate Chip Birthday

Crop days are always fun at the Store! It was Chevonne’s Birthday so we had cake! My friend Louis came by to show me his new Honda CR-V, so good to see him! I got to discuss This is Us with Linda! My friend Michelle stopped by too, so nice to see her! She picked up a few goodies and I can’t wait to see what she makes with them! After work I came home and went over to my Parent’s and spent some time with them, my Brother, Erika, Daniel, Tristan and Taylor! I even got a little group selfie…

Yes, I look a little bit like a fool, trying to get Tristan to smile! They are such good little kids! After that it was home to do a little organizing! Today is the last day to place your Lawn Fawn Pre-Order with the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! You can click HEREΒ to go to the Collection! Tonight I’ll be getting the order ready! Can’t wait to get all those new goodies into the Store! πŸ˜€

For some reason I had a craving for mint chocolate chip ice cream yesterday so I decided that the card version would be a lot less calories! I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the ice cream and cones onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and an extra one for the main image. To stamp them I used Mint Julep, Tide Pool, Soft Brown and Cup O Joe. The single one is cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My stamped background is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I cut a piece of 48lb Vellum to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and heat embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The die cut ice cream and cone is adhered to the Vellum with 3D Foam Squares and then I added more behind it to adhere it to the card. I love the way the Vellum really softens the busy stamped background and highlights the single come and greeting! I hope that you like my card for today! I thank you for coming by and wish you a nice easy Sunday! πŸ™‚

  2. Good morning Justin,
Wow! Way to cute! Love everything about this card.
Finally, good to see a picture of you with both the children. She’s getting so big. Looks like he’s a great big brother. Take care and have a wonderful day. Hugs, Donna ?

    1. Good Morning Donna!
      Thank you!
Yes, I finally got a pic with them both! They are such good kids and he is a great big brother! You have a great day! Hugs! πŸ™‚

  3. What a fun stamping set and I just love the way you made your background and then softened it with the vellum. THEN you “POP” another ice cream cone on the front of the vellum! Absolutely perfect and reminds me of those miserable hot summer days when the only relief is an ice cream cone. Strange, but I don’t care for coffee to drink and yet that is my absolute favorite ice cream flavor – followed by pistachio! Really great job with this card Justin!

Boy, Tristan is starting to look a lot like Daniel! She is just the cutest little puffy cheeked baby girl and Erica has her dressed so “little princess” style. Daniel is a handsome as ever and boy, anyone can sure tell they are brother and sister. AND Uncle Justin looks mighty happy to have both of them together. You are very blessed Justin – between your artistic talents and your wonderful family and friends. Love and hugs and wishes for a Sensational Sunday my friend. XXOO πŸ™‚ AND, thank you so much for sharing that great photo!

    1. Thank you Grace! I love using Vellum to mute a bold background! I have been in a warmer weather mode card wise lately! Yay for using Vellum!!
Tristan is a little chubby love bug! Erika really dresses them both really nicely. I always have a nice time with both of them. Tristan is always smiling and I’m Daniel’s best buddy, or so he tells everyone! I really am a lucky guy and should remember that more often! Love and hugs to you my friend! Sorry for the backlog of comments! I’ll get back in the swing of things! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. What a fantastic card, Justin! Looks like you are going straight for summer now instead of spring now that the colder temps are sticking around for awhile. ? Love the vellum and how it softens the background, but still allows it to show through. I used some vellum on a card I made last night and thought of you when I pulled it out. ?

I’ll post it on IG and my blog once I finish downloading the latest OS so I can edit my photo. Why did I think it would be a good idea to click yes when prompted? I certainly didn’t think it would take 30 min for the update to be installed, but that’s what I get for waiting so long. *sigh*

    1. Thank you so much Christy! I am definitely in Summer mode! So over this cold weather! I love that you think of me when you use Vellum!! It’s one of my favorite things to add to a card!
Those phone updates always take a little while. I usually start them right before bed! I’ll look for your card on IG! πŸ™‚
