Bloom ‘n Butterfly

Hello my peeps and happy Saturday to you! I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see my friends Jim and Diane and hopefully meet up with my friend Kim to have some lunch! It’s been way too long since I’ve seen her! Yesterday was a quiet day at the Store. I think everyone was still trying to recover from the snow! Renee, Angie and I worked on projects and Renee got her new Ranger goodies put away. After work I came home and straightened up some more, ran to Target and then my friend Jim came by and we went out and had Pizza for dinner. A fun end to a good day! πŸ˜€

I wanted to make a simple card for today, but then decided that I wanted to do a little masking, not that that doesn’t mean that it’s not simple! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the butterflies from the the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Merman, Peacock, Fresh Lavender and Sugarplum Inks masking them as I went up the right side. When my stamping was finished I cut the right edge off with my Scissors. I decided that I wanted to add something to the inside for a change so I stamped the leaves from the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘n Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass and Noble Fir Ink. They needed something to ground them so I ran a piece of Plum Glitter Tape along the inside edge of the leaves. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze, Orchid and Amethyst Sequins and the card is done! I love the fun unexpected cut off edge and the surprise of the leaves and glitter tape inside! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by! Have a superb Saturday! πŸ™‚

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! I love your mix of colors, dark and jewel tones offset by light. The inside may be the highlight! I love the glitter tape. I love the way you cut out the butterflies along the edge. Do you get the feeling that I “love” what you did on this card? We are expecting temps in the 50’s with rain throughout the weekend and then seasonal weather again. Have a great time in NYC! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! It was fun to make the card! I think that you might like the card! LOL! I would take 50 degrees over the snow any day thanks! Hugs to you! πŸ™‚

  3. Hi Justin:

I have to agree with Nancy B on your color choices. Just gorgeous to say the least. The cut edge on the front backed by the leaves showing through from the inside – plain old delightful and oh so unique. I love the Lawn Fawn ink colors and as soon as I win the lottery I’m just going to send you a note saying “send them all”! LOL Just a fabulous card all around Justin and I bet it was lots of fun to make!

I just found out my friend’s daughter who is in her late 40’s has gone to spend 5 days in Manhattan. She has never been out of Maine before. I would give a lot to be with her when she first sees the City. I bet she will be overwhelmed and that is so much fun to watch as I have taken people there for their first visit. I have such fun watching them watching everything going on. The crowds, the traffic, the noise, the smells of food from every country in the world. Such fun. I have nicknamed these people NYC Virgins! LOL I’m so glad you are getting to go into the City today. Wish I was there. It’s snowing here again today and we are supposed to get a blizzard Tomorrow into Monday with several feet of snow expected. Unfortunately the hubs is sick with the flu so I’m not sure how the driveway will be cleared. I know he will try to go out and do it but frankly I will attempt to talk him out of it. He is just too sick. You have yourself a Super Saturday my friend. Love and hugs to you! XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I like to do something different every so often! I do like the Lawn Fawn Inks, they give good coverage!
Wow! She will have a good time! I hope that she has someone to show her around! The city has so many things to do and see and taste! LOL! I can’t even remember being a NYC Virgin! I started going when I was on my early teens. You get far too much snow up there! Isn’t there anyone by you that can help clear the driveway? Hope that someone was able to help! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚
