Freshly Made Sketches 276

Well, that was a very busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The Lawn Fawn order came in and went right back out! I couldn’t have gotten it all done with the help of my friend Sue! We worked all day on making sure that everything was sorted, packed and mailed. Everyone that placed an order had their packages mailed out yesterday! I stopped at the Post Office and dropped them off and the lady couldn’t have been nicer! From there it was home to have a little dinner and then off to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! We endedย up running to Target and met up with Stephanie there. Back to the house for a lot of laughter! Taylor stopped by and George even hung out with us for bit! I do love my peeps, they are pretty awesome! Today I will input the extra Lawn Fawn and get it back up on the Store site! ๐Ÿ˜€

I have my card for they week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge to share with you today…

I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Magnolias for Her Photopolymer Stamp Set in Jet Black Crisp Ink. To color them in I used my Prismacolor Pencils, I’m getting better but am far from where I want to be with them! I did really enjoy the coloring and blending and that’s what it’s all about right?! After they were colored in I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. For my card I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel was actually left over from a card that I made a few weeks ago. I heat embossed the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder onto a piece Kraft. My greeting is from the Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum. I wrapped the Vellum around the back of the woodgrain panel and then adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The leaves and single flower are adhered with more E-Z Runner. I choose to forgo the sequins to keep the focus on that pretty flower! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by to see me today! Have a fantastic Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Justin: I saw that my Lawn Fawn order mailed out yesterday. Thank you so much for doing this for us! So appreciated and can’t wait to play with all the goodies. =)
Does the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store shopping site have a ‘Wish List’ setting? I like to add things to a Wish List and then place an order from there. I didn’t see one when I clicked on the Altenew Magnolia’s for Her in your supply list for your card. Anyways, Great card! Love your coloring (made me check the set out in the Store)! I actually thought it was a two step stamp when I first saw your card.
Thanks again! Have a great weekend!!!

    1. Hi Lynn! Yup, got everything checked in a shipped out! I don’t like to wait for stuff and you shouldn’t have to either! I will look into the wish list setting, that’s a very good idea! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I did have fun with my pencils! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Good Morning Justin:

You did a fabulous job with the Prismacolor pencils. I’ll have to try embossing my wood grain stamp with clear embossing powder. I tend to just use a dark brown ink and leave it at that. Your card was a lovely “soft” take on what I would call a “hard” sketch. Not in difficulty but in feel. Just lovely.

Sun is shining but not for long. I’ll spend the day with those obnoxious little errands and phone calls we all hate to do and make. Oh well, at least the taxes are done. Once I get through that I can come home and finish putting up Easter decorations. Yeah! Love and hugs to you my friend and wishes for a fabulous Friday. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Grace!
Thank you! I really do love a woodgrain with florals! I understand what you mean by hard sketch, but I love it and will use the layout again!
We had a couple of nice days and yes, I hear you about the little things that we hate to do! Hope you got all of your Easter decorations up! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Justin,
Very pretty card. Great job with the coloring and I love the way you use vellum. I need to try using it more myself.

  4. It’s funny how a certain image brings back memories. I grew up in the city and we had a magnolia tree in front of the house. I loved the beautiful flowers. I have had a tree planted in the front yard of both of my “adult”homes” this image is just as beautiful! OMG, I was so excited to see that y LF order shipped, you are AMAZING!!!!!

Hubby and I just came back from a quick dinner and yep, white stuff is falling, so depressing. My son is at Iowa State, he had ice storms all day and now a blizzard. Crazy, just crazy

    1. I love that we see things and they conjure up memories! I have to make sure that you get your goodies as fast as possible!
Snow! You can definitely keep that! I do wish the weather would make up it’s mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Absolutely gorgeous, Justin! I love everything about this . Always a joy to see your cards in the gallery at Freshly Made Sketches!
