Sending You Flowers

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I’m in it for the commercials and the Half-Time show! LOL! I had a fun day at the Store! Taylor came by to visit and so did Heather! Heather brought Starbucks with her, bonus points! I made a few cards and got some other things done too, a very productive day! After work I had Chinese with my Parents and then came home and cleaned out my bedroom closet. Can’t take all of the clutter any longer, everything must go! Today Renee has a Super Bowl Crop and I have a party to go to later with Heather. Should be a fun day! ๐Ÿ˜€

Before I get to today’s post one of our blog friends Ann left in the comments yesterday that her sister works in hospice care and oneย of the residents is turning 104!! She asked that if anyone has time if they could send a card to wish Miss Ireneย a Happy Birthday! Lets see how many cards we can get to her! You can send the cards to:

Karen Powell
13 Branch Street
Suite 100
Methuen, MA 01844

Thanks in advance!!

I have a fun sort of single layer card to share with you today. I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock and cut it to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored it at 5 1/2. I made a few masks and then stamped the flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts For You Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Pink, Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Lime Green on the card front. I skippedย the second layer onย the leaves. After that was finished I die cut the love from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut Set from the card front. The card was placed into my Mini MISTI and I lined up the love stamp, opened the card and stamped it in Intense Black three times to get a nice crisp impression on the inside of the card. The centers of the o and e are glued to the inside of the card with my Quickie Glue Pen. I added the rest of the greeting to the front and one to the inside with more Intense Black. All that was left to do was to adhere a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with some Multi-Matte Medium and the card is finished! I really “love” the negative die cut card front and then the inside of the card! Looks complicated but was actually really simple and fun! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for spending some of your Sunday with me and enjoy the game! (or commercials and half-time! LOL!) ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you! My sister will send me a picture, if she’s allowed to, of Miss Irene and her cards. If she can’t (patient privacy rules), she’ll send me a picture of the pile of cards on her desk. I’ll be sure to post a total! Once again, Justin, you have elevated the c& s card to the level of stunning. These droplets are new to me and I think I’m in love! I am a little more invested the Super Bowl this year since I live in Massachusetts. But if the Pats aren’t playing, I’m in it for the commercials and halftime as well. Whatever the investment, it’s all about the food and fun!

      1. her birthday is the 12th, I think. But they are doing a little party for her on the 10th. and thanks again!

    1. You are so welcome and I thank you for letting me share it on my blog! I hope that Miss Irene gets a huge pile of cards! Can’t wait to hear the total! I love the droplets, just a little subtle bling! I’m so glad that your team won!! I had a fun time at my party! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Justin,
Beautiful card!! Love the way the die cut Love opens onto the stamped word. The droplets look like rain – very cool!

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thank you! I really had fun making this card! The droplets are very neat and yes, they do look like rain! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh yes, I love it. What a surprise to open it. Really different “love” it. I liked it closed with the stamping on, what I thought was, the flowers and then . . . even better. Looking forward to watching the game. Go Falcons!
    ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks Nancy! I love the effect and will use it again! Hope you enjoyed the game! Sorry your team didn’t win! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. What a beautiful card Justin! Those droplets appearing as dew on the flowers is the absolute perfect touch. Every one of the Hero Arts layering sets create amazing stamped images. The way you have the love inside the card is so neat. Whoever gets this one is going to be super impressed for sure, I know I am.

I’m the bad one of this group. I love the Pats but I’m boycotting the NFL until they take action against the players that refuse to stand up for the National Anthem. Being a Veteran I find it to be an insult to those of us who have served in the Armed Forces so these multi million dollar players who have chosen not to serve their can have the freedom to do so. Lady Gaga has already stated her half time show will be political. I’m sorry but I needed to post on something so dear to my heart. I promise I will never post anything political again. I still hope the Patriots will win as Tom Brady is………………well, he’s Tom Brady. Wishing you a Super Sunday Justin, Love and hugs, XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! Yes, I do love the droplets, they do look like water! The Hero Sets are among my favorites and I love when I can use a set over and over again!
LOL! Good for you! I don’t think that they should be allowed to do that either! You live here and make money here, if you don’t like it off you go! I enjoyed Lady Gaga! She was great! You can be as political as you want! Everyone is entitled to their opinion! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Sending a card to Miss Irene from Winnipeg, Canada…hope it arrives on time. Thank you Ann for this lovely request and Justin for posting it on your blog. Such acts of kindness truly reflect all the good to be found around us. Have a lovely Sunday !

    1. Yay! Thank you so much Julia!! We need more acts of kindness! We all have it in us and I think its bets to share that with everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. What a beautiful card, Justin. I love this new-to-me design your creative mind has given us today. Miss Irene being 104 boggles my mind. That would be almost half as long as I have lived and I am old!! Wow! She’s my role model for aging! I’ll get a card out to her soon. I hope the game today is close, so it holds my attention. The commercials are usually the best part. My son and his family are invited to a Super Bowl party near NYC and the invitation said they have five tvs and one in the bathroom, so no one should miss a play no matter where they are! I thought that was funny!! Enjoy your day!

    1. Thank you HJ! I’m so grateful that I can still show you something new after all of this time! You are not old!! Thanks for sending a card! The game was actually really great! And I don’t enjoy football at all! Now that sounds like a great place to see a game! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I’m pretty sure you forgot to mention the snacks! I’ve made coconut chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cake, cheese dip, and homemade bread because that’s how we roll. My son is making baked potato soup and sliders…

    Love this card!

    1. Your snacks sound amazing! I’m coming to you next year! LOL! Glad that you like the card! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Beautiful! I love the cut out love on the inside. Perfec, clever.

Mojo came home yesterday, thank god…..three Valentines cards done, and I used my new products. Thats always good. Three more to go today. No football for me ever….. I’ll check the commercials later on FB

    1. Thank you Linda! I’m so glad that you found your Mojo, I hate when mine goes missing! I don’t watch the game either but the party was fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Absolutely fabulous! Move this one right onto my all-time favorite Justin Creations. (I really should start keeping tabs of that actual list!) I love how you used the diecut as a peek-a-boo into the inside of the card! It’s spectacular!

I wound up watching the game at home because my son was sick. His tonsils were so enlarged that they were threatening to block his airway so I didn’t want him to be alone. The good news is my husband won the pool again. And thankfully, it was cash and not a tv. I’ve run out of places to put the televisions he has won! Lol!

    1. WOW! Thank you Linda! LOL! I would love to see your list! It was a fun way to get some more use out of the sets!
Glad that hubby won the pool and that it was cash! I guess you can have too many TV’s! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚
