Better with You… and Coffee

OMG! It feels like Winter is back! I don’t think that it got out of the teens yesterday and that wind was as strong as ever! Hey Spring, where’d ya go?! I did have a nice productive day at the Store, managed to get two cards made and survived Renee’s kids class! LOL! After work I had a quick dinner with my Parents, they were going to my Brother’s to watch Daniel and Tristan. Taylor came by and we ran a few errands. I cleaned the bathroom, Saturday night fun, and watched Sweet Home Alabama! I never realized but Reese Whitherspoon drives the same car that I have in the movie! Sunday’s are usually quiet at the Store so I’m going to try and get all caught up on my projects! ๐Ÿ˜€

Today I have my solo post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th blog and I’m sharing another card for the Love Theme Challenge that just finished! You can see my post by clicking HERE and heading over to the Design Team Blog! The post will go live at 11:00AM.

I started by heat embossing the images for the coffee cup and plate onto a piece of Kraft Card Stock with some White Embossing Powder. I do enjoy a little fussy cutting and these images are super easy to cut out. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th By Your Side Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto the plate. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of black and creamย patterned paper for the background. I decided that it was a little too bold so I used a piece of Vellum to soften it adhering the images with Foam Tape, including a spoon that I heart embossed onto a piece of gold metallic card, to it and the hiding the adhesive behind them to hold the vellum to the card. A relatively simple card to make that will get sent to someone special just to let them know I’m thinking of them!

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! We will be starting a new challenge on March 9th so be sure and play along with us for that one! Thanks for stopping by and spending some of your Sunday with me! Have a simply wonderful day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love the white embossing on the Kraft. I am wondering what the background paper looks like without the vellum. Another winner! Hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thanks Nancy! The background paper is a little more bold than what I wanted but it’s nice paper! Hugs to you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Really cute, sweet card, Justin. I love the vellum over the checked “tablecloth”, so creative! Stay warm. Spring will be here again the middle of the week, but only for a couple of days. I’m good with it as long as don’t have to shovel!! Just saying! Have a productive day.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! I love using Vellum to soften bolder paper! I need Spring to stay! LOL! I never shovel! ๐Ÿ˜€

I want you to send me some of your artistic talents. Not all of them, but just a bit so that I can turn colors into fabulous creations like you do. By the way – I’d bet you a dollar I know who this card is for! LOL Stay warm and have a Sensational Sunday my friend. Love and Hugs to you, XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚
