Freshly Made Sketches 289

Happy Saturday! What was supposed to be a rainy day turned out to be a very lovely day! It was partly cloudy but a lot sunny! I got a few things done around the house in the morning and then went out with Michael for the afternoon. We went all over, Pizza for lunch, A.C. Moore, Old Navy, Kohl’s and finally Target. I took him back to Sue’s and then came home and had dinner with my Parents. Taylor stopped by briefly and then I had some TV time. I’m going to get some more things done around the house and this morning and then who knows what the rest of the day will bring?! 😀

My little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper from the DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper Pad and heat embossed my greeting from the Concord & 9th By Your Side Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The paper is then adhered to a piece of Island Indigo and then adhered to the card. I die cut the butterfly from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock using the Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter Dies. It’s adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. It needed a little something else so I took my Signo Gold Gel Pen and added some dots to the patterned paper. I love the nice subtle pattern on the paper and that butterfly is still one of my all time favorites! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks so much for coming by today! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

  1. This is one of the prettiest cards! What a great stamp set. I love that you show us them! The butterfly and and the gold embossing enhance the elegance and grace. This would make a lovely Valentine card.
Do you still “work” at the store? Have a Super Saturday! Back to getting the house ready for our cookout… I could use your cleaning up help! Love you, Nancy B

    1. Thank you very much Nancy! It’s simple but has a nice impact! It would make a fun Valentine!
I don’t still work at the store unfortunately. LOL! I have enough cleaning to do here! Hope you are having a fun weekend! Love you too! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

That butterfly looks amazing cut out of the gold glitter paper. I think adding the little gold dots really perfected the entire look of the card. Fabulous job as always! Thanks for continuing to share your talents with us.

So, is Michael up from Brasil for the summer? I think it’s great that he manages to get back to New York once a year for a bit. The day started rather drab this morning but now the sun is out and I’m sure the weather is going to be beautiful. Lots to do today. You have yourself a Super Saturday and enjoy every minute of it. Love & Hugs to you my friend! XXOO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! I do love that butterfly die!
Michael is up for a few weeks. He hasn’t been here for two years. We were lucky to get sun too! Hope you enjoyed your day! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  3. OMG this is gorgeous! It is amazing how abeaitiful sheet of DP can work for you!

awesome day today. Finally the rain stopped and we has SUN!!!! It was70, just beautiful.

Went out to brunch with some old friends from HS. Then my mom and I went out shopping for flowers. I love to garden. Honestly, that tokk the whole day. I got home after 6pm, planted a few veggies and thats it. Slowly getting my junk out of the family room and put away. I have chosen to no longer stress over it. Even a few pieces a day will eventually get the room emptied. They ae calling for rain again tomorrow…..maybe I will then get more than a few things put away

    1. Thank you so much Linda! I do love the papers in that pad!
We had a little sun but raining again.
Sounds like you had a super fun day again! You will get it all put back together! Rome wasn’t built in a day! 🙂

  4. This card is so dreamy Justin. The moodiness of the patterned paper is offset beautifully by the gold glitter butterfly and the gold sentiment. Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
