Simple Butterfly Beauty

What a fun and busy day I had yesterday! It was a little overcast in the morning but by the time I got out to Wading River for the Wedding the sun came out. The couple that I married, Nacole and Cal, we very nice! It was a small ceremony and went really well. From there I stopped home, ran over to see Heather and we went to Old Navy to return some things. A quick stop back home to pick up some stuff and off to Jim’s house. I helped him with some projects, we had lunch and then got ready to go to the Relay for Life. There were a lot of people there and I got to meet a bunch of Jim’s friends. This morning I’m headed back over to finish up a few more projects! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card for you today! This one is a one layer with some masking. I stamped the butterfly from the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Licorice onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and also onto a Post-it Note. A little fussy cutting and I placed the Post-it over the stamped butterfly and used my Stencil Brush to apply some Ballet Slippers to highlight the butterfly. To give it a little more color I stamped the fill-in image in Minty Fresh and then added the greeting, stamped in more Black Licorice. It doesn’t get more simple that that! I do love the way the pink gives the card a little bit of dimension! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you for spending a little of your day with me! Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  1. How the heck did you get so much done in a single day? Gosh, I got tired just reading about it! Love that butterfly and especially the stippling you did around the mask you made. It makes the butterfly look like it’s coming out of a pink cloud. Very cool.

Sunday – race day – beautiful sunshine and I have supper all made and waiting in the refrigerator for us. Life is good.
Love and hugs and wishes for a Sensational Sunday for you. XXOO 🙂

Ahh, yes, you love your races! Hope it was a good one! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  2. Simple yet elegant. Do you like the stencil brushes? Alot of the blogs I follow have used them, but no comments as to either thumbs up or down, or don’t waste your money.

How do you pack all that activity into one day?

    1. Thank you Linda! I do like the Stencil Brushes, you can get a nice soft look easily!
I do like a nice busy day!! 🙂

  3. I love this simple Sunday card, Justin. It is beautiful and doesn’t look simple. I love the stippling around the butterfly in pink. It adds just the artistic touch needed to make it perfect. I’m so glad you are having lots of fun with friends and doing so many different things. You are a very busy guy who really likes being busy. Take care. Have a great week, my friend.

    1. Thank you HJ! It wasn’t too difficult. Once I cut a mask for something I save it on the back of the stamps. I do love to be busy and being with my friends makes me the happiest boy in the world! Hope you had a wonderful week! 🙂
