Orage You Sweet 16

Another nice day yesterday but some rain this morning. I went over to Heather’s early and spent the day with her catching up on some things while she worked. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s, they needed a ride to a wedding so I drove them over to Floral Park and then came home and watched TV. Today will be a quiet day I hope! πŸ˜€

One of my friends asked me to make a card for a sweet 16 so this is what I came up with. It was inspired by a card that I saw on the Concord & 9th site! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the Sweet from the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set in Carrot Ink. The crate is from the Concord & 9th Petals & Palettes Dies. I cut it from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and stamped the woodgrain in Doe. The leaves are from the Petals Set and are stamped in Noble Fir on Noble Fir Card Stock and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I stamped the oranges in Carrot on Fake Tan and cut those out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the crate, oranges and leaves to the card leaving room in the crate to stick in a gift card. The 16 is cut from more Fake Tan with the Hero Arts Classic Numbers Frame Cuts and adhered to the lower right on the crate. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and American Crafts Orange Sequins finish the card! I love the sweet 16 with the oranges, a different take on a birthday card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for coming by! Have a super Saturday! πŸ™‚

  1. Strange things are happening here Justin. I did not receive your post in my “in box” or any other box this morning. I actually had to go looking for your blog. So, I thought I would resign up but I can’t find a place to do that. Very strange indeed.
In any event, I really love this poppin’ orange card, especially the fact that you left space for a gift card because it seems these days kids would prefer that to having the gifter buy them something (unless it’s a car of course LOL)! I’m sure your friend as well as the recipient is going to think this is the best card EVAH!
You have yourself a Simply Sensational Saturday my friend. Love and hugs to you. XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Every so often the blog doesn’t post as scheduled and I think that’s what happened Grace. I need to put the sign up back on the blog, juts have to figure out how! I thought that the card was a fun different way to give a sweet 16 card! Thank you! I had a wonderful Saturday and hope that you did too! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. What a cute Sweet 16 card, Justin. This is really thinking outside the box for me, but works perfectly and I’m sure the recipient will enjoy it. So far we don’t have rain here today. Our rain gauge says we’ve have 9.11″ so far this month. That’s a lot. Have a great weekend. Mine is going to be quiet with plans for getting inky!!

    1. Thank you HJ! I thought it was different! We have been really lucky with the weather this Summer, it has been beautiful! Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your weekend! πŸ™‚
