Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Ink Only!

Another cool morning here on Long Island, but it’s sort of refreshing sleeping with the windows open and enjoying a little fresh air. I had a nice busy day yesterday, I cleaned and did some laundry in the morning, ran a few errands and spoke to my friend Kim. Jim came by around 4:30 and we headed down to Jones Beach to go for a walk. A nice four mile walk, it’s amazing how good you feel after a little exercise! We stopped on the way home and picked up dinner and then finished off the evening with some TV. A pretty great Friday! I think that this morning I will try and get a few more cabinet doors done! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s time for a new challenge and I have the pleasure of sharing my card with you for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge

I do love to do some stamping! To create my card I stamped the hydrangea from the Concord & 9th Petals & Palettes Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a Post-it and cut it out with my scissors. My card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock is place into my MISTI and I stamped the flowers in Grape Soda and then just the edges in Peacock using the mask that I cut out. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in the same colors. The background needed a little something so I took a stylus and pressed it into the ink pads to create my dots! A nice somewhat simple one layer card that would be easy to make multiples of with the MISTI!

I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Embossing Challenge! We hope that you will play along with us and enter your card in the gallery over on the BLOG!ย Donโ€™t forget that you can follow us onย Instagramย andย Facebook! Thanks for coming by and spending some time with me! Have a super Saturday!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Justin:
Sounds like you had great Friday – good for you! It used to be easy for me to make cards with ink only. These days I seem to absolutely have to make cards with dimension. You did a great job. I probably would have ended up throwing out a half dozen cards because I didn’t like what I put together. You did a much better job then I would have. My eyes are glued to the TV weather channel. So many relatives and friends in Florida – it’s really scary. Hope you have a Sensational Saturday my friend. Love & Hugs for you. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Yes, I did have a great Friday! I used to only make cards with loads of layers now I prefer to have them as simple as possible! Thank you! Oh, I have thrown out plenty of cards because I didn’t like the way they looked! I heard from most of the people I know in FL and they are all ok. I hope that the same is true for you. Love and hugs! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Gorgeous! Love your colors. I had a awesome day scrapbooking with friends. My son ran a marathon today and qualfied for Boston. Fingers cross he gets in, I’m heading to my favorite city in the Spring!

    1. Thanks Linda! I love when you tell me that you have been scrapbooking! Your Son is just an amazing guy isn’t he?! You should come by way of NY so we can hang out! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Great card, Justin, with stamping only. The hydrangeas are beautiful. Love how you colored the edges in Peacock. That is a great tip about using a stylus for the tiny dots. I’ll have to remember that trick. Have another great day! At least we don’t live in Florida and surrounding states that might also be in Irma’s path. Most of our friends in Florida did not evacuate and I’m hoping they are safe. Take care.

    1. Thank you HJ! I love the dots with the stylus! Jennifer McGuire is very clever! I’m happy that Florida didn’t get it as bad as they could have. Hope all of your peeps were ok! ๐Ÿ™‚
