Paper Players 370

Hello friends. I missed my post on Friday because I woke up and found my little friend Winston had passed away in the night. I miss him so much. I can’t remember a time that he hasn’t been around. I was lucky enough to have spent 16 years with my best friend. It really is true, your furry friends become a part of the family and the loss leaves a big empty space. Heather came over on Friday and spent the day with me working from my house. I managed to keep myself busy over the weekend. I spent the morning at Jim’s on Saturday and then we went to dinner and watched a few episodes of The Fall. Yesterday I was at the Glam Slam Fundraiser and that was a lot of fun! I ran into someone that I used to work with at Pergament back when I was 18!! Such a small world. 😀

To start off the week I have my card for the Paper Players challenge…

One of my favorite challenges! Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of Solar White 80lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. My tree is cut from another piece of Solar White 110lb using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Die. I used the lights from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder on my die cut tree and then adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die with more Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Some more 3M Foam Tape adheres that to the tree and the card is done. I do love a white on white card, you can do so much with a little dimension! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for coming by to see me on a Monday! Have a great day! 🙂

  1. I think Winston was a Schnauzer. I have an 11 year old Schnauzer by the name of Heidi. I hope to have her for many more happy years. SOOOO sorry for you loss. How about a picture of Winston.
I enjoy reading your Notes each morning and finding out about you and the weather in New York. Usually so different from here in Northern California. Thanks for the beautiful card idea.
    Again sorry for your loss.

  11. Justin,
I just read this post. I’m so very sorry about Winston. I lost my little Pekingese (Savannah) in September. She too went during the night. As hard as that is, it is so much easier than having to end their lives at the vet office. I know the empty feeling you have right now. I’m still feeling it too. We were lucky to have all the happiness they brought us. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

    1. Hi Gerri,
Thank you. I’m happy that he went at home and that I didn’t have to have him put to sleep. He will always be missed.
