Freshly Made Sketches 310

Another somewhat gloomy fall like day yesterday. I worked on a bunch of projects in the morning and squeezed in a little TV too. Last night I went over to Jim’s and we met up with Laura and Michelle and went over to the venue for the fundraiser to check out and brainstorm a few ideas. After that we went and had dinner, it’s nice to get to meet really nice people and Laura and Michelle are just that! This morning I have some projects to complete and then who know what I’ll be up to later! 😀

Today I have a card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I’m really loving that Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Stamp! I used Black Licorice and my Mini MISTI to stamp the background and then filled the images in with Jalapeño, Noble Fir, Merman, Peacock and Sunflower. There are two flower clusters on the background that you can cut out with the Coordinating Dies, I cut one of them out. Then I trimmed the leftover and adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Peacock. I added that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cut out flower cluster is then adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! I’m having so much fun with that background that I left it in my MISTI so I can stamp a few more later! Paper Craft Crew 265

It started out gloomy in the morning yesterday and then was sunny in the afternoon. The evening however delivered the rain and wind as promised! We even had a little thunder and lighting. I had a semi-productive day, got some things accomplished in the morning and did a little cleaning. Taylor came by last night and we watched a few episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow, so nice to spend time with the child! This morning it’s a little gloomy but should clear up. I have some errands to run and then a meeting later about a charity event on November 12th that I’m volunteering for. Good times! 😀

Mid-week and time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp with some Merman Ink and a piece of Mermaid Card Stock with my Mini MISTI to create the background. It’s adhered to the card in the lower right askew to match the sketch. The tree is cut from a piece of Peacock using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. I heat embossed the greeting from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered the tree to the card with 3M Foam Tape. For a little pop of color I used the star die from the Trim the Tree Dies and attached that to the top of the tree with more 3M Foam Tape. A simple card using one of my favorite Holiday color combos! SIP Challenge 122 – Product Feature!

A rainy dreary Tuesday here on Long Island. It was such a nice day yesterday. I made sure that I spent a lot of time outside, especially since I knew it was going to be nasty today. My list of things to do didn’t get much checked off but that’s what today is for. I had a quiet evening, Taylor stopped by for a bit and then I watched TV. I have to find another book to read so I’ll give that a little effort this morning. I’m feeling a little dreary myself! Why does the weather have such an effect on us?! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

We figured that we would try something new so we are featuring using a product and that product is Washi Tape. I know that I have way too much of it and don’t use it nearly enough! I’m sure that some of you out there are in the same boat! My card is very simple, I stamped the images from the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Kit in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Solar White 80lb and colored them in with my Copics. The Coordinating Frame Cuts cut them out. Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of Washi Tape across the lower half and then stamped the mountains. The tree and house are adhered with 3M Foam Tape and the greeting is stamped under and to the right of the Washi. Like I said very simple! Paper Players 367

Hello! I hope that you all had a nice weekend! Mine was great! Saturday I went over to Jim’s and we worked on some projects, fishing the last of the chairs and putting legs on the end table that we made, along with a few others. I had to go and pick up Taylor from the train around midnight, she said that she had a wonderful time in Massachusetts and can’t wait to go back! Yesterday I did a little cleaning and then Jim stopped by in the evening for a bit and we watched some more of Ozark. This morning I’m playing catch up on a few things, it’s a Monday for sure! 😀

I’m staring the week off with my card for the Paper Players challenge! But before I get to that I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge! You can see my original post HERE and the winners post HERE. Now for this week they have a sketch…

Hero Arts had a little sale last week and I couldn’t resist! Sometimes I have the idea for the card in my little brain and this is what my desk looked like when I started my card…

To start I stamped the squirrel from the Hero Arts Color Layering Squirrel Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wet Cement, Soft Granite and Charcoal using my Mini MISTI. The peanut is stamped in Wet Cement and Cup O Joe. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. Next I used my Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp to stamp a piece of Desert Storm 80lb in Wet Cement, a piece of Smoky Slate with Soft Granite and a piece of Basic Gray with Charcoal. The Desert Storm piece is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged the end of the Smoky Slate piece and added that and then heat embossed a greeting from the set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Basic Gray piece and added that. My squirrel and peanuts are adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! I love that squirrel! I think this would make a fun masculine card, maybe even for a birthday! Christmas Blooms

Ahh… happy Friday peeps! It’s been cooler here but sunny and pleasant so no complaining! Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. I did get a bunch of things done in the morning. Then in the afternoon I got an email from IKEA that the couch that I have been waiting to get was on sale so Jim and I took my Dad’s truck and picked it up. We stopped and got dinner on the way back and had that before embarking on the couch assembly. It didn’t take too long and I’m really happy with it! It is also a sleeper so when my cousin comes from London again she will have someplace to stay! We finished off the evening with a little TV, enjoying the new seating! This morning I will be cutting up the three huge boxes that it came in and seeing if there is anyone that wants the old one! 😀

I have a just because card for you today! I wanted to give the new Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Stamp a try! I inked it up with Jalapeño in my MISTI and stamped it three times onto piece of Solar White 80lb. Next I used Cranberry, Lobster, Noble Fir and Sunflower to stamp the fill-in images and added it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the greeting I used the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die to cut out another piece of Sailor White 80lb. The words are from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Noble Fir. All that was left to do was to use some 3D Foam Squares to add it to my card! I have to say that the Blooms Fill-In Stamp is pretty neat! A fun background in any colors that you can imagine! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Freshly Made Sketches 309

I don’t think that the internet is enjoying the shift to cooler weather, it’s painfully slow here lately! I did had a very productive day yesterday despite my little three hour trip into Manhattan to drop off Taylor. She was little anxious but after 6 hours of travel she made it safely to her destination. We also finally got one of the contractors to send an estimate for the work on Jim’s PA house. Things move at a very different pace up there! This morning I’m going to try and check a few more things off my to-do list and then Jim will be by later for dinner! 😀

My little bit of craftiness yielded my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…

To start my card I stamped the large flower from the Concord & 9th Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Fresh Lavender and Sugarplum using my Mini MISTI so I could double stamp. The flower is cut out with the Coordinating Die. Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock trimmed to 4″ wide I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card and then the flower. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 65lb Vellum. I used the squashed hexagon die from the Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Dies to cut out the greeting. The right edge is folded over and adhered to the inside of the card with a few dots of Multi-Matte Medium behind the heat embossing to keep it in place. A simple card with that awesome huge flower! Paper Craft Crew 264

Hey there peeps! Mid-week already! I managed to get a bunch of stuff done yesterday, some computer stuff in the morning and a little cleaning in the afternoon. I do so love a productive day! Had a little dinner with my Parent’s, Dad is doing much better. I saw Taylor for a bit, she is going to Massachusetts to see a friend and has never taken Amtrak before so I get to go into Manhattan this morning and put her on the train and then come back home. Good times! LOL! 😀

Today’s card is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I felt a little Deja Vu! Typically Halloween colors but not for me! LOL! I stamped the ornament from the Concord & 9th Ornamental Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and the merry and bright with Carrot using my Mini MISTI. The image is then colored in with Copics. For the ornament topper I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Concord & 9th Ornamental Dies. The middles of the flowers have a little Singo Gold Gel Pen. The background looked a little plain so I added dots with pen, one of my favorite ways to fill in a background! Yes, it’s not your typical red and green but it’s still merry and bright! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! SIP Challenge 121 – Tic-Tac-Toe

A crisp good morning to you! We got a taste of Fall last night with temps in 40’s! I’ll take Summer back now thanks! I had a pretty productive morning yesterday which is always a good way to start the day! In the afternoon I got a text from Heather that one of her cats got out so me, Kim, Stephanie and George spent a few hours combing the neighborhood. They eventually found the cat and are going to get a GPS collar for her, she gets out a lot! I went back over to Heather’s later and we ran a few errands. My evening was finished off with a little TV. This morning I have a bunch of things to get to and some cleaning to do around the house. 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means it time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I went diagonal from top left to bottom right on the Tic-Tac-Toe board. My card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock has the front covered in a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Essentials – Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. I heat embossed a flower and two leaves from the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White and Copper Embossing Powder onto some 65lb Vellum. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut them out. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in White Embossing Powder onto the woodgrain paper. The leaves are adhered with E-Z Runner and the flower with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Copper Sequins completes the card. I love the nice pop of white against the dark woodgrain! The card would work well for a wedding, don’t you think?! Paper Players 366

A good Monday to you my friends! I had a very nice weekend! I was over Jim’s on Saturday working on some more projects that I’m happy to say we got them finished! Saturday night we went over and had dinner with Kim. So nice to get to see her, it’s been way too long. Yesterday I had a lazy day, it was rainy so I watched some more of the Arrow on Netflix. This morning I’m going to get stuff done! Have to make up for yesterday! How was your weekend?! 😀

I used the Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and the bats in Hero Arts Black Sparkle Embossing Powder onto a piece of Pluto Stardream Curious Metallic Card Stock. That is then adhered to a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. They wanted clean and simple, I think that fits the bill! Love the nice sparkly bats on the shiny dark card stock! Fab Friday 123

Happy Friday! I had a quiet day yesterday, got some thing done and ran a few errands. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Isabella. We always have a nice visit! I’m going to make dinner tonight for Jim and I, I haven’t cooked in a long time so wish me luck! LOL! 😀

My card that I have to share with you today is for the Fab Friday challenge…

I used some new goodies from Concord & 9th! My background is the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp. I stamped the images in Black Licorice using my MISTI and then used the fill in’s and Moonstone, Lobster, Doe, Sunflower, Noble Fir, Carrot, Sugarplum and Jalapeño Ink. It’s trimmed and adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die. It’s adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A strip of Black 110lb and Chili Pepper are adhered to the lower right to stay true to the sketch and the card is done! I love the Turnabout Stamps and it was so much fun using the fill in images to just stamp! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge!
