Paper Players #147 :-) & Sneak Peek

Good Sunday to you! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is pretty good despite the rainy and cold weather we had yesterday. I did spend most of the day crafting, I have a lot of projects to do and I would like to get a little bit ahead. I did make some progress so I’ll continue on today. What is going on on by you?

It’s Sunday and that means it’s time to play with the Paper Players! This week we have a sketch from the talented LeAnne…

A very different sketch from any that I have seen recently so this was fun! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. The paper rectangles are all from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack*. They have some great distressed and fun patterns in there. The greeting is form the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso. I cut out the Birthday and popped it up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the other one that is punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. They are backed with a piece of Island Indigo that I cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Not an overly complicated card but the DSP really gives it some oomph! Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Create with Connie and Mary 253 & Sneak Peek

It’s the weekend people, a three day weekend! It’s going to be rainy and dreary today so I will be crafting the day away. What are you all up to? Any BBQ’s and gatherings going on? It is supposed to be miserable until Sunday Evening but Monday is supposed to be nice so I’ll be sure and make plans to get out of the house on Monday.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary, Sketch 253…

Now that is an awesome sketch! CAS and some flags! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White for the background. I stamped the greeting from the A Word for You Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush* before I embossed it. The piece of paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack* and a piece of Daffodil Delight is on top of that with some Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. The circles are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Strawberry Slush*. I love the all white background with the pop of colors. Mojo 294

I’m a little happier than usual today and we all know why… it’s Friday! Three day weekend Friday! I have a serious amount of crafting to get done this weekend and it’s just as well seeing as it’s supposed to rain through to Sunday. What are you all up to this weekend? I had dinner in Manhattan last night and it worked out great. It didn’t rain until we got to the restaurant and it had stopped by the time we left. We also stopped in Brooklyn to see my friend Brian on the way home. All in all, a great evening!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 294, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Some Photopolymer and Paper Pumpkin helped out with this card. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the paper is from the Epic Day this & That Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit for the piece of Calypso Coral along the bottom and across the top is some Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon. The greeting and the dots are from the Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets and the Thank You is from the Essentials Stamp Set. For the three arrows and the flag I used the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets. The flag is in a Soda Pop Top, boy am I going to miss them! I think the Photopolymer sets make great additions to any card and the Paper Pumpkin stamps are great for so much too. Paper Craft Crew #43 & Sneak Peek

Yeah, it’s Wednesday and that means we are halfway there to a three day weekend! I completely forgot that Monday is a holiday! What a nice surprise that was when I remembered! When I woke up yesterday morning it was really foggy and then it went up to 85 degrees with some mugginess. I’m not complaining but I did leave the windows open in my house and when I got home everything had a thin coating of pollen. After I Swiffered the cloth was green! It really is amazing how much of that stuff there is around!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #43…

I’m really having such a good time with the new stuff! It’s so much fun to see what works with what. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The middle panel consist of some Soho Subway Designer Series Paper*, Crisp Cantaloupe* and Early Espresso. I stamped the image from the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set in Crisp Cantaloupe*, I thought it slightly mimicked the pattern in the DSP. Some Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon goes around the lower half. A piece Vellum that is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit is behind a Window Frames Collection Framelit. The greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch* and is backed by a piece of Early Espresso cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. The button is a new Very Vintage Designer Button* that I threaded some Early Espresso Bakers Twine all around the edge. SUO Challenges #71

Hello! Happy Tuesday! How are you today? I’m doing well. My Monday was a good one and that never happens. The weather cleared up after it rained all day yesterday, it was sunny and 75 degrees which was actually quite nice!

It’s time for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges once again. This week we were asked to use our favorite retiring stamp set. I have a lot of favorite retiring stamp sets and other goodies so I used two and some retiring colors!

My card starts off with a base of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. I added a layer of Lucky Limeade on top of that. The stamped images are from the French Foliage Stamp Set and are stamped in Lucky Limeade, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake. For the greeting I used the Word Play Stamp Set and some Not Quite Navy ink. These two sets are definitely on the top of my list along with the two colors. I never realized how well Not Quite Navy and Lucky Limeade look together either! Paper Players #146 :-)

Ahh, Sunday morning is so much nicer in the Hampton’s! LOL! It is really relaxing out here, very quiet and woodsy. My friend has a lovely little house on a very quiet street. We went to see another friend yesterday and she lives on Bluff Road, you can see and hear the ocean from her house. It is a different world out here and it’s only an hour and a half drive (off season with no traffic!) from where I live. If you are ever in the area it’s definitely a must see place! Here is a picture of the sunset last night…

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players and we have a fun CAS Masculine challenge from Ann…

I decided to use one of my favorite sets from the Spring Catalog and some of the new In-Colors. The base of my card is Costal Cabana* Card Stock. I used a piece of adhesive cork sheet in the middle and flagged the bottom. The main panel is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar* using the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set backed with some Baked Brown Sugar* Card Stock. The watch is from the Dapper Dad Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The center dial is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar* and cut out with my Paper Snips. For the greeting I used the From My Heart Stamp Set and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Dapper Dad, I think is one of the best masculine stamp sets we have had and I love the way the watch looks embossed. Pals Paper Arts 159

Saturday! My work free, glorious Saturday! How are you today? I’m doing well. I’m off to the Hampton’s this morning with my friend Chantal. She has a beautiful house in the Springs in East Hampton. It’s supposed to be a nice day today and for most of the day tomorrow too. I’ll be blogging from out East tomorrow as we say here on Long Island. As I sat down to make my Pals Paper Arts card I was going through my mental inventory (which is dicey to say the least!) and I remembered an oldie but goodie!

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 159, a sketch from Margaret Moody…

The base of my card is Baja Breeze Card Stock, which I apparently hoarded at some point, I have a lot left! The paper is from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper Pack. For the greeting I used the once controversial Carry On Stamp Set, the crown is also from that set. A piece of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Sating Ribbon goes across the middle of the card. The two tiny butterflies are from the Collage Curios Stamp Set and are cut out with my Paper Snips. Just a reminder that all of these products will become “Vintage” as of June 3rd, you get some extra time to order as well being able to order from the Spring Catalog and the new 2013-2014 Catalog. Freshly Made Sketches #86 & Sneak Peek

Thursday… so close to Friday I can taste it! This has been another really long week, lots going on. Have I told you that if I could give up sleep I gladly would?!?! I could get so much more done! LOL! It’s supposed to be really nice here today with temps going up into the 80’s. Later on I’m going to Star Trek – Into the Darkness in IMAX 3D. I loved the last one and the IMAX part makes any movie better. I’ll give you my review tomorrow!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #86, a sketch from Amy…

Super clean, super simple, that’s what I was going for with my card. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the greeting from Loving Thoughts in Costal Cabana* right on the base. The paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. To make the scallop along the bottom I used the the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. The stamps are form the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush* and Costal Cabana*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pop them and the line across the middle up. I like the happy colors from the new 2013-2015 In-Colors and the stamp set is so versatile. Thanks for visiting me today to take a look at my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Hey, what’s up?! How are things by you? Things here are ok. It was chilly again today but it’s supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow but we are to have some rain again. I’m liking when things are slightly askew on cards more and more. The base of my card is Pear Pizzaz Card stock. I used the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on some Island Indigo for the background. The paper is from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack*. The large greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the 7/8″ Scallop Circle punch to create the flower and a Vintage Faceted Designer Button is in the center. The happy birthday is from the Wishes Your Way Stamp Set. Mojo 293 & Sneak Peek

Why are Monday’s always so difficult?! Let me tell you that a three day weekend makes them even harder! Oh, and it felt like fall here again today. What is up with that?! Yoo hoo… Mother Nature, we are supposed to be getting warmer now thanks! I saw that someone said they had snow yesterday! Yikes!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

I have to say that so far out of all of the new stuff I’m thinking that the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* is my favorite! It has some great colors and I love the vintage graphic feel to it. The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the background is Very Vanilla stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on some Early Espresso on top of that. The piece of Summer Starfruit and the Island Indigo Circle are pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the flags are made using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The circle of Designer Series Paper is Soho Subway* and the greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Punch*. I made my “bow” with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and the 1/2″ Circle Punch. With a Soda Pop Top in the middle and the No. 1 from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* it completes the card. I managed to use the Postage Collection Stamp Set again and I’m a little bummed that the Soda Pop Tops didn’t carry over. What are you going to miss?
