Simple Monday

Good Monday morning to you! How was your weekend? Mine was fantastic, mostly due to the fact that it was a three day weekend for me! I got all of my little projects done, cleaned the house, spent time with my peeps and crafted for like 16 hours!! Now that’s a good weekend. I have two cards for you today. I made these last night, one was from some scraps I had left over and the other one was just because. Sometime you just need a simple card and that’s just what these two are.

The first one is really simple. I had these triangles left over from something else I was working on and I thought maybe just glue them down the center of a card base of Pool Party and have them point to a greeting. The greeting is from the Best of 25 Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. The triangles are Basic Gray, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay. Super simple yet sleek and modern. Triangles are very big right now too so it’s a little trendy!

Blog Post Simple Card 5-12-2013

The second card is a case of a card that I had seen either on Pinterest or a magazine. Simple base and background of Whisper White. The feather is from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay (think I like the color a little?!) and the greeting is from the A Little Greeting Wood Mount Stamp Set. Some Calypso Coral spritzed and a little piece of Epic Day This & That Washi Tape and we are almost done. I happened to have some sequins that match the Bermuda Bay color perfectly so I added three! Again super simple card but it still has some wow factor. Perfect just let someone know you are thinking of them.

I hope that you enjoyed my two simple cards and that they have inspired you to create some of your own. Thanks so much for dropping by today, I’m happy that you did! Now go and have yourselves a nice Monday! 🙂

Paper Players 145 :-) & Sneak Peek

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, how has your weekend been. Mine has been stellar! I had off of work on Friday and I crafted for about nine hours yesterday. It rained almost all day so it was the perfect day to be creative. I plan on being crafty again today too! It’s Sunday so that means its time for this week’s Paper Players!

This week we have a color challenge from Jaydee…

Paper Players #145 Colors 5-12-2013

I have to admit that I had a little trouble with these colors at first. I decided that I would use some new goodies to jump start the creative juices. The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I cut off 1 1/2 from the front after I used the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. The panel on the right is embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The paper on the left is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*. All of the large postage stamps are from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* and the small ones are from the Lovely Little Labels Stamp Set, I let them hang over the edge for a little something different. The Postage Collection set is great because it’s a builder set, you can make the stamps the way you want. I was inspired by my friend Sandy to cut off some of the front of the card, it’s a nice change from the usual. I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s color challenge from Jaydee. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary 251

Hey there! How are we all doing today? I’m doing great! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, lots of sun and topless driving! I did my cleaning in the morning and then some crafting, went and had lunch with my friends, did some more crafting, went to my daughter’s school to see her art exhibit and then went to dinner with Anthony and Bill. A very nice day indeed! Today it’s supposed to rain so it will be a good day to do some more crafting!

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 251

CCMC 251

I’m really liking the new Photopolymer Stamps, they have a nice modern feel to them and lining them up is a breeze. The base of my card is Smokey Slate Card Stock*. The lines up the card on the right and all of the other stamped images are from the Show & Tell 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and are either stamped in Bermuda Bay* or Smokey Slate*. The piece of paper is from the Floral District Designer Series paper Pack. The chevrons are cut out with my Paper Snips and the panel of DSP is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a nice simple modern graphic card. Thank you very much for visiting with me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 251 card. Have a great Saturday no matter what you do!

Fab Friday 18 & Sneak Peek

A very happy to Friday to you all! I’m off today and am going to do some cleaning, crafting and relaxing. I look at a day off as a chance to catch up on some neglected things. Cleaning as of late has been neglected and relaxing is always neglected, the crafting is just a necessity! The weather here today was torrential downpours and then some sun. It was alittle muggy but not cold so I’m ok with that!

Today’s post – Fab Friday Design Team 18 Color Challenge…

Fab Fri 18 Color 5-09-2013

The idea for this card started out with wanting to punch the new alphabet out with the new Mosaic Punch and grew from there. The base of the card is Soft Suede. The middle consists of some Print Poetry Designer Series Paper, Summer Starfruit embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Primrose Petals stamped with the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. The letters are from the ABC – 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set* stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Mosaic Punch*. I think I have mentioned how fond I am of the new alphabet, it’s a great size and I like the sketched look. Thank you for visiting with me today to see my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Check out the Fab Friday Blog to see what the other designers have for you and enter your card for me to see! Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #85 & Sneak Peek

Ahh… Thursday! For me it’s Friday! I’m off from work tomorrow! Woo hoo! It rained here yesterday for a good part of the day, and when I say rained I mean poured buckets! The sun did peek out from time to time just let us know that it was still there. Temperature wise it was pretty nice just a little on the muggy side. Are you all ready for Mother’s Day? I made 4 cards last night so I’m good!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #85, a sketch from Narelle…

Freshly Made Sketches #85

You see it… there are some flags on there! The base of my card is Strawberry Slush* Card Stock. I used a piece of the Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper* across the top and embossed the rest with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The image in the middle is from the A Round Array Stamp Set that you can get now either alone or in a bundle with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind it is some more Strawberry Slush* punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind that is an image from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set” cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. A 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle completes the middle and under are the flags in Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. I love the nice mix of colors in the DSP and layering the stamp from the A Round Array Set makes it seem bigger than it is. Thank you for dropping by to see my Freshly Made Sketches Card for this week’s challenge. I hope you all have a very lovely Thursday! 🙂

SUO Challenges & News!

Hello peeps! We made it through Monday again! I had card class last night and the child tagged along. Father daughter bonding is so much fun! It was a very nice day here again today so the top was down in the car, always enjoyed on my drive home from work! Oh, I have some news for you today! I have been asked to join the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges Design Team! The talented group of designers is headed up by Robin and I’m so happy to give you my first card for the group. This time around the challenge is to use butterflies. My mother, being a huge fan of butterflies (she even has a tattoo of one!) made this an easy one! So here is my butterfly card.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple. I used the World Treasures Stamp Set for all of the images and greeting on the card. The flowers are stamped in Pacific Point and have Basic Jewels Rhinestones in their centers. I used the Elegant Butterfly Punch to create a negative in the strip of Raspberry Ripple and some International Bazaar Designer Series Paper punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch fill it in with two more Rhinestones on the butterfly. Three Pacific Point butterflies cut out with the Beautiful Wings Sizzlit are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals next to it and the greeting is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I’m loving the colors together and my mom is sure to love the butterflies! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my first card for the Design Team over at SUO Challenges. Head on over to the blog and see the other designers projects and upload one of your own. Have a great day! 🙂

The last picture is my friend Danielle and I all geared up. It really was a lot of fun! Now, it’s Sunday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a theme from Anne Marie, Mother’s Day…

Paper Players 144 Theme 5-05-2013

Perfect timing for next week! The base of my card is Melon Mambo Card Stock. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits and a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper* to cut out a frame. In the center of the frame are images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. They are stamped in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzaz. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy and backed with some Night of Navy that is pierced on the edges. Thanks for stopping by to see my framed flowers Mother’s Day card for this week’s Paper Players Theme Challenge from Anne Marie. Please go and visit the Paper Players blog to see what the other talented designers have for you and enter your card for a chance to be A Cut Above or Make the Headlines. I hope that you all have a nice Sunday!

Pals Paper Arts 158

Ahh. Saturday, usually the beginning of my weekend but not this week. I’ll be working this morning at an Over the Edge Charity event. I’m supposed to rappel, I’ll let you know if it happens. If there is no post tomorrow you’ll know it didn’t go well. LOL! Kidding… I hope!! What’s on tap for your weekend?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 159, colors…

PPA 158

Definitely not a color combination that I would have thought of but they do go quite nicely together. I decided to have some fun with the Photopolymer Stamps. The base of my card is Pool Party. I created the background using the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamps Sets. I created a pattern in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. The circle is Lucky Limeade and embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The image is also from the Show & Tell Sets, the letters from the Designer Typeset Alphabet. I really like how easy the stamps are to line up and the modern trendiness is great too! Thank you for stopping by to see my Pals Paper Arts card for their color challenge. I hope you have a great day and that I will see you tomorrow!

Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set! It’s called Designer Typeset! Create with Connie and Mary #250

Happy Friday! Not so happy for me as I have to work tomorrow. Sigh… oh well what can you do?! It was gorgeous here yesterday and is supposed to be a little chilly today and then back to beautiful tomorrow. I really do love riding around in my car with top down. It’s so nice to feel the sun and the wind on you face. Sometimes it’s the little things that make our day! What’s on tap for your weekend?

Today’s card – Create with Connie and Mary Colors #250…

CCMC 250

A very neat color combo and I immediately thought of This & That Epic Day goodies. The base of my card is Pool Party. Some Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper makes up the background and the hexagons that I cut out with my Paper Snips. For the chevrons I used my 1″ Square Punch to punch out some Calypso Coral. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Ticket Duo Punch to punch it out and the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack to create the backing. I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary Color challenge card for this week and thank you for stopping by. Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂
