Paper Craft Crew 172

Hey there! Do you have all of your festivities planned for Thanksgiving? Will you be going Black Friday shopping until the wee hours of the morning? The answer to both of those questions for me would be no! LOL! I’m not a huge fan of lines and I’ll be going next door to Mum & Dad’s for Thanksgiving. Yesterday was a little colder here than it has been. I played in the new and improved Stampin’ Galley for a bit in the morning and then ran over to see Renee and Angie at Scrap-A-Latte for a little bit before coming back home and spending a little time with little Daniel. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s and we ran to Target and then back to her house for an early Thirsty Thursday! Brian and Patty even came! Always a good time when spent with my peeps! Today I’m going to try and get some serious creative time in and get some on-line things done! It’s supposed to be in the 60’s here on Thursday so I plan to enjoy some outdoor time then!

It’s mid-week so I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS172 DT Sketch 11-25-2015

I used a whole bunch of different products on today’s card! Love when you can mix things from different companies and have them play nicely together! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and it’s cut so that when it’s folded it makes a 4 1/4″ square card. My background consists of a piece of paper from an old My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas on the top and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper across the bottom. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. They are held together on the back with some tape and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The tree is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Leaf and Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink. I used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the frame with SNAIL. Finally, the greeting is from the same Hero Arts Set and is stamped in Green Leaf with the ends flagged and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I do love the bit of sparkle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the eclectic mix of elements! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come by and visit with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 417

Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

The start of a new week also means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Yay! A Tall & Skinny, love those! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Hello Honey that I stamped in Hello Honey with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. My panel is a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s backed with Basic Black and adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the bottom is a piece of My Story Washi Tape that I adhered to a piece of Solar White and then to the card with SNAIL. My square is a piece of Basic Black backed with some Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The butterfly is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Leanna Craft Die and adhered to the square with a Glue Dot. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and adhered it to the center of the butterfly with Foam Tape. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish the card. I do love that My Mind’s Eye My Store collection, great colors and fun embellishments! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Lilac Silhouettes Thank You & Manhattan

Hi there! Despite the rainy day yesterday I had a great day! I headed into Astoria to pick up Michael, put the top down in the car and then off to Manhattan we went. There was quite a bit of traffic going across the 59th Street bridge but it doesn’t seem so bad in the car with the top down! We arrived at my friend Kim’s house around 9:15 and headed to the diner for a little breakfast. After that we went back to Kim’s apartment and dis-assembled the large IKEA bookcase. We sat and chatted for a while and Kim had said that she wanted to go and find a couch. Our first stop was Macy’s and a little Starbucks to help with concentration! From there we headed up to Pottery Barn and that’s where she found the couch. It’s a really nice comfortable one with a matching storage ottoman. After the furniture hunting was finished we went to Nick’s for a really late lunch/early dinner and had some delicious pizza. Then it was back to Kim’s for a little digestion and then Michael and I came back to my house and hung out with Taylor and watched some TV before I took him back over to Sue’s house. I can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday! Here is a little picture of the three of us from one of our cab rides!

Man do I love my peeps!! 😀

The card that I have for you today is actually one that I made a few week’s ago. I was inspired by a tag that my friend Holly had made. I was in my parent’s back yard and was looking at the Lilac bushes and remembered that I had seen a clever way to make some with one of the stamps from Summer Silhouettes. To start off the card I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Wisteria Wonder. The main panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, the Simon Says Stamp Medium Dot Line Die is used to punch out the circles down the right side. I then threaded some Gold Thread with a few purple Swarovski Crystals and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins through the holes and secured the thread behind the panel. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My images are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive. I adhered the stamped panel to some Elegant Eggplant. For the greeting I used the “Vintage” Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. It’s secured to the back of the panel and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I love the sequins and crystals on the gold thread and the simple look of the flowers! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspires you to use a stamp set in a different way! Thank you for coming by and sharing in some of my adventures too! Have a simply lovely Sunday! 🙂

Can You Case It #73

So, I’m later that late this morning and I will show you a picture of what that is, no judging! LOL! It was an odd day here yesterday. I woke up to rain and that lasted until around noon. The sun then came out but it was pretty far from 80 degrees which is what they had promised. I did make the most of the day, I had lots of crafty time and I spent time doing something that has needed to be done… cleaning! Sandy stopped by for a little bit, love her visits! Then I got a text from my friend Marissa asking if Anthony, Bill and I wanted to go out. Sure… why not? We went to Houlihan’s and I had a drink, well it was more like three drinks in one and that was a poor decision! We left there and went to Croxley’s and I had a Whiskey Sour and we danced and all was good. There was a stop at Taco Bell on the way home, that’s never a good decision. I’m sure that you can imagine how my morning was and we’ll leave it at that! Here are Marissa and I, who just got a really nice haircut and then there is the drink.

Marissa and I Croxley's

Huge Drink

The picture doesn’t do the drink justice, I should have had something next to it for scale! Never again! LOL!

Now on to the fun stuff, my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge…

CYCI #73

The colors were actually my choice! The card base for today is old reliable Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. A piece of Sahara Sand is spattered with some Heidi Swapp Gold and Tinsel Color Shine and two strips of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape go across the middle before I adhered it to the base. I used the Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments – Slide Frame Die to cut out a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and adhered that to the card. My flowers and leaves are cut from Basic Black and Blushing Bride using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flowers with little pieces of Foam Tape. Another piece of Blushing Bride is cut out with the Ellen Hutson Love Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium. The three hearts are more Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Ellen Hutson Home and Hearth Dies and they too are adhered with Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the Ellen Hutson Dies and the Color Shine Sprays! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge! Thanks for stopping by, sorry I was late! Have yourselves a Good Sunday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 254

Hello there my friends and a very happy Friday to you! Thankfully we didn’t get any rain yesterday and it was actually not too bad, we even had some breaks of sun! Today it’s supposed to be overcast but no rain again and the weekend is to be nice too! It was another busy day at the office and straight from there I went to see Renee. I missed her! We FaceTimed with Michael for a bit and then I went to my parent’s to have some dinner. From there I headed over to see Brian and Kim for a bit with Taylor. Love catching up with them, they are just the best! When I came home I sat down and made my card for today. Another full but fun day! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill, not sure where we are going yet but it will be a good time no matter what!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 254

Thankfully I have some Strawberry Slush left! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of So Saffron. I used the Simon Says Stamp Ring Frame Wafer Thin Die to cut out some Strawberry Slush. The rings are adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The Simon Says Stamp Circle Smile Die is cut from So Saffron and Soft Suede, I adhered it to the circle that was cut out with the Ring Frame. Some of the other circles along with the smile are adhered back into the frame with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Soft Suede and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A strip of paper from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper Pack is adhered to the card base on the right. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins are randomly adhered to the card and that finishes the card for today! I really do enjoy that Ring Frame and love that Circle Smile Die too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Have yourselves a simply awesome Friday and thank you for spending some of it with me! 🙂

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

PCCCS147 DY Sketch 6-03-2015

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams projects! I also hope that you enjoyed the cards from Nicole and that you check out her blog too! Thank you so much for sharing in my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! Oh, don’t forget that today is the first day that you can order from the NEW 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!! You can also order from the 2014-2015 and Occasions Catalogs today too! Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simply amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Fab Friday 65

Oh yes peeps it’s Friday! A nice short week, loved it! Yesterday it was rather humid here but sunny. We had a little patch of rain last night but only for a few minutes. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents! Love to see that little man. We went for a little walk and he shared some of my red velvet whoopie pie. He really liked it! He is like a little bird with his mouth open when he wants a taste of what you have! So cute. I come home after and Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then made a few cards. A nice quiet evening, so nice to have them once in a while!

This Friday it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a color one for you…

Fab Fri 65 5-29-2015

I just got my Simon Says Stamp Card kit in the mail yesterday and wanted to play with some of the stamps and die that is included! The card base for today is the usual and it’s covered in a piece of Marina Mist. My panel is a piece of Whisper White and across the middle is some Beach House Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The sun and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, the sun is stamped in Hello Honey and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it to the card with Ranger Matte Multi-Meduim. A strip of Night of Navy that I flagged the right of side goes across the middle and is adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen finishes the card. I love the simplicity and happy feel of the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Color challenge! Click on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with for your viewing pleasure and make a card to post in the gallery so we can see your magic with these colors! Another nice day here! They said that we might get some thunderstorms but they stayed to the north of us. When I got home from work I was Skyping with Andrea and she was showing me the storm clouds and a tornado to the north of her! There were some crazy things going in Colorado! I was part of a text conversation during the day that involved Brian getting his tongue pierced so I headed over to meet Heather at his house and we went to see my friend Mark at his Tattoo shop. I spoke with Mark about my next tattoo that I wanted to get while Brian got his tongue pierced. He didn’t even flinch, however my knees got a little weak at the sight of it! After we went to 7-Eleven to get him a Slurpee to help with the swelling. We got back to his house and I dropped him off and I headed over to Heather’s to meet up with Stephanie for some cocktails and conversation! I had my Whiskey Smash and all was right in the world again! I also got some fun news! Michael will be coming back to NY soon! I’ll keep you posted and let you know when he arrives! 🙂

Thankfully I made my card Tuesday night, 10:00pm is a little late to start making a card! That card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo399

I decided that I wanted something fun and colorful so I pulled out some bright Designer Series Paper and a fun Stamp Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Pumpkin Pie. The background and strip across the middle are pieces of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut a banner from a piece of Rich Razzleberry and adhered it to the card under the striped piece. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is flagged on both ends and adhered on too of that. My greeting and crayon are from the Lawn Fawn You Color My World Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circles. The crayon is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Daffodil Delight and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back of the circle and then it’s adhered to the card. The crayon is adhered to the circle with SNAIL. A scattering of Doodlebug Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects for a little sparkle. I do love the bright colors and fun stamp set! I hope that you like my card fort this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Thank you so much for visiting with me today and I wish you a very nice Thursday! 🙂

It was chilly here again yesterday but sunny! It did warm up a bit later in the day, enough to take a ride to Scrap-A-Latte with the top down! In the morning I crafted for a bit and then Taylor came by in the afternoon after she got out of work, that’s when we went over to see Renee. We also had some Blaze Pizza for Lunch. That has become one of my favorite places to get pizza! You can make your own with like 40 different toppings and it $7.95 per pie, and it’s delicious! We came home and puttered around the house before running out to Michaels to pick up some necessities! LOL! The rest of night was spent crafting and chatting. A nice way to spend a Saturday! This morning I’m out to breakfast with Sam and Kim, it’s been too long and we need to catch up!

It’s Sunday and that means that it’s time for another Can You Case It challenge, This week we are bidding a fond farewell to the soon to be Vintage 2013-2015 In-Colors…

Yes, I was the one who threw in the gold! LOL! I really am going to miss Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. The panel has a piece of PinkFresh Studio Mint to Peach Ombre Airmail Washi Tape just for Michael! 😛 The greeting and cake are from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set, I promise that I will stop using it soon! LOL! I stamped the greeting in Crisp Cantaloupe and quickly coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. If you do it fast enough it will stick! The neat little card is the Reverse Confetti Mini Circle Garland Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts die cut from some Gold Foil Sheet. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. My cake is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crisp Cantaloupe and cut out with my Paper Snips. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I really am very obsessed with that Stamp Set, I just love it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge! Head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the design team have made and enter your project in the gallery! I thank you for coming by today and I wish you a creatively amazing Sunday! 🙂
