Pals Paper Arts 247

Yay! It’s the weekend! I had another busy day at work yesterday, lots more running around! I did get a nice little treat, Andrew came and met me for lunch! We went to the pizza place and then he came back to the office to hang out for bit. Always nice to see Andrew! I came home and took my dad to get his truck from the repair shop, spoke to Michael for a bit and then Anthony and Bill came to get me so that we could run to Costco. I haven’t been there in a while, I always go to BJ’s so I picked up some stuff that I can’t get at BJ’s. We went to SmashBurger for dinner and it was quite tasty! On the way home we stopped at Starbucks and I got some coffee. When I came home I sat down and watched a movie and by the time that was done it was 12:00, time for bed!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 247

A sort of monochromatic look with all shades of purple! I have been dying to use a new set that I got from Altenew and as a bonus they recently came out with dies for it too! Card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles for my background. My main panel is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles and adhered some fun foam to the back and then adhered the panel to the card. My roses and leaves are from the Altenew Sketched Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped using the MISTI Tool in Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant. I used Pear Pizzaz for the leaves and then used the matching dies to cut them all out and adhered them to the card with SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Super Script Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I didn’t add anything else so as to not take away from the awesome font in the greeting and those pretty layered roses! The MISTI made stamping the roses with the multiple layers so quick and easy, love that tool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks very much for your visit and I hope that you all have a simply wonderful Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 180

Well, I finally recovered from the “street meat” last night. Boy let me tell you that I felt it work it’s way through my entire digestive tract! I will definitely not partake in that delicacy ever again! LOL! That was rough! Other than that my day was relatively quiet and that is always a good thing! Little Daniel was over my parent’s when I got home form work and he wasn’t in the best mood because his back teeth are coming in. Poor little guy. I did manage to distract him for a bit with turning the light on and off. He now checks to make sure that it’s on or off too! Such a smart little man! I came home and spoke to Andrea on Skype, Kim on FaceTime and Eva on Skype while I made a few cards. A nice finish to the day!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 180

I got a few new stamps and dies in the mail yesterday and just had to use them! My card base is yes, you guessed it, Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. On the top is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with some DMC Gold Metallic Thread tied through one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons. I heat embossed one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tucked it underneath the Crisp Cantaloupe piece. The hello is from a company called Altenew, they are actually based not far from where I live on Long Island! I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A very simple card but I love the way the hello fades out towards the top! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Have a terrific Thursday and thanks for visiting! 🙂
