Paper Players 294

Happy weekend peeps! It was overcast here and rained for the afternoon yesterday. We just get a taste of Spring! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I ran over and got Heather and dropped her off so that she could pick up her car. When I got back to the house I crafted for a while and then went over to see Daniel at my Parent’s. Erika brought home pizza and rigatoni alla vodka for dinner for all of us. After dinner was over I came back home, made another card and then watched Transformers – Age of Extinction. I thought I had seen it but I hadn’t and it was good! I like techie movies with robots and lots of explosions! LOL! This morning I’m going to meet Sue at Scrap-A-Latte for the garage sale that they are having there. That should be fun!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Player’s challenge to share with you, unfortunately not in time to be added…

I used some new Altenew Stamps that I got the other day! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Broken China Distress Ink to make my subtle “sky” background. The flowers and branch are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder for the flowers using my Mini MISTI and the branch is stamped in Soft Suede. A little dot of Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink is stamped in the middles and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The branch is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with Foam Tape. My hello is form the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Pink Pirouette. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out and a piece of Pear Pizzaz. The stamped hello is adhered to the Pear Pizzaz one, slightly offset, with Multi-Matte Medium and the same attaches it to the card. I love the simplistic look of the card and the way the Wisteria Wonder took on a brownish tinge when stamped over the So Saffron is pretty cool! OSAT Blog Hop – May Flowers!

I had a busy day yesterday! I had to run out to Riverhead to get some documents, it’s an hour from me and thankfully Sue came along for the ride! We were in and out so that was good. The weather was absolutely gorgeous here too! Nice bright sun and temps in the 70’s! We stopped and looked at few things at a store and then had some Sonic for lunch! When we got back to my house Sue took a bunch of stuff home to work on for me and then I went over to see my parents and little Daniel. He has a cold that he got from his cousin! Those little ones do like to pass around the germs don’t they?! I stopped back at my house and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to watch the store for Renee while she went and spent some time with her grandkids! I got to FaceTime with Andrea for a bit and I worked on some stuff while I was there. Today I’m going to meet Bill for lunch and then get a bunch more stuff done. Hopefully it will be nice again! I did enjoy my time in the convertible yesterday!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here after seeing Megan’s fabulous projects, welcome! This month we have a May flowers theme! More flowers! LOL! I have been on a flower kick lately, thankfully I have some new ones for you today!

First up is a card that uses some Altenew goodies! The card base is Neenah Solar White cut to 4″ wide with the front covered with a piece of Black 110lb. My flowers are from the Altenew Painted Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Hero Arts Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam Ink for the flowers and Simon Says Stamp Jellybean and Green Apple Ink for the leaves. The outlines of all of them are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and arranged them on my card. Some Press ‘n Seal is used to pick them up. I added some Foam Tape and Tombo Mono Adhesive to the back and then pressed them to my card and peeled off the Press ‘n Seal. The little black and white leaves are tucked in and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. You can see how nice and easy it is here…

I stamped the butterfly from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam and used the Coordinating Dies to cut him out too. Some more Foam Tape holds him in place. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I love the loose artsy feel of the flowers and butterfly and I think they really pop against the black!

Next up is a fun tag! I painted a Wooden Tag with some Black Acrylic Paint while it dried I heat embossed a Wood Rose with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. My greeting is heat embossed in more Gold and is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered the rose to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then tied a piece of American Crafts Pink Twine though the top! I think the tag would make a very nice package decoration and then whoever you give it to can keep it and use as for a little home decor!

Masked Vintage Roses

Nice weather here again yesterday! Sunny and warm, still could be warmer but I’ll take it! I didn’t do very much yesterday, I slept which was actually nice. I did get some crafty time but not as much as I would have liked! My parent’s went to Pennsylvania yesterday and they brought back some really good old fashioned donuts! Last night I got to catch up with Michael and did some more research. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can gain from the internet! Today I definitely have some projects to get finished! I will be getting up at 4:00am tomorrow morning to take Heather to the airport. She has to go to Dallas for business overnight. Could she have picked an earlier flight?! That’s going to hurt!

Last night I had the urge to do a one layer card. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I thought that I would give it a go! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Altenew Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks and the leaves in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink. I created my mask with a piece of Masking Paper and used it over and over! By the time I was finished it didn’t have any stick left to it and was covered in ink! My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped in Onyx Black and trimmed out with my Scissors. I used some Foam Tape to adhere it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, I love how they look like water on the flowers! The Altenew Crisp Inks are really nice and I can’t wait to get some more colors! I hope that you enjoyed my sort of one layer card for today! Mojo Monday 433

And we’re off to the start of another week and a new month! I had a very productive day yesterday! I helped my dad do the brakes on his truck in the morning and also got through my mountain of laundry. I also straightened up around the house and got a few crafty things done. Today I have some more organizing to do and I also have to make a plan as to what I’m going to with life in general! Pretty broad description but it needs to be done. I have a few airport runs to make this week dropping people off as they head off on vacation. I’m thinking that one day they will be nice enough to have me tag along! LOL!

The start of the week means another fun sketch from Mojo Monday…

This card all began with the thought that I wanted to use a specific patterned paper! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Blushing Bride for the background. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Basic Gray adhered with more SNAIL. My square is a piece of Black 110lb that is also cut out with the Stitched Squares and is adhered with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my MISTI to stamp them in Simon Says Stamp Rosy Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Slate Ink with the leaves stamped in Khaki and Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips. I placed them where I wanted and used a piece of Glad Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some SNAIL and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are all adhered in place and the Press ‘n Seal is removed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to remember exactly where you had them! Thanks Jennifer McGuire for the tip! My greeting is cut from more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it in place! I love the texture that the Woven 3D Embossing Folder gives the card and the layered flowers go so well with the patterned paper! Crisp Blue Winter Cardinal

It was another fun filled day here yesterday! I got my hairs cut in the morning and then came home and FaceTimed with Andrea while we both made cards. My mum had a Doctors appointment so I got to hang out with Daniel for a bit. When my brother got home he hung out here for a while until my parent’s got back and then he and Daniel went over to my parent’s. Later on I met up with my friend Louis and we went over to Seaford Middle School to see the winter concert that they were having. Andrew and Satellite Lane performed, it was great to see all of them. We sat with Kayleigh and Andrew’s parents. Kayleigh is Andrew’s girlfriend and she is awesome! After that we went to the Freeport Diner for a late dinner and then came back to my house and watched some YouTube videos. There is a new artist called Troye Sivan and he was on Elvis Duran the other morning. He has an album out called Blue Neighbourhood and it’s fantastic! We watched some of his videos and then called it a night. I’m off to The Ink Pad today to hang out with Anna, always fun!

My card that I have for you today uses some more new goodies that I got on Black Friday from Altenew. My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to create that subtle sky that I love so much lately. The cardinal, branches, feet and berries are from the Altenew Winter Cardinal Photopolymer Stamp Set, the branches are stamped in Hero Arts Cup O Joe, the feet in Butter Bar and the berries in Altenew Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the background is then mounted to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. For the cardinal I used my MISTI and Altenew Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk and Desert Night Crisp Ink to stamp the layers from lightest to darkest. He is cut out with my Paper Snips and then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. You know how I love some layering stamps and the cardinal is amazing! Mojo Monday 422

Another weekend for the books. I really enjoyed myself at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair with Anna. I had fun demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut and chatting with all of the people that stopped by. I even got to see my friend Jessica! There were all sorts of talented people selling things and demoing Calligraphy. I used to do Calligraphy when I was younger and definitely need to get back into it, I forgot how much fun it is! Driving was an extremely pleasant experience, it took me 35 minutes to get there! I also got a space right outside the Synagogue. Going home took a little longer, about an hour, still not bad. I was worried that there would be a lot of traffic because of the marathon but I guess so was everyone else! Here is a look at Gramercy Park, you need to live in one of the buildings that face the park in order to get a key to get into the park!

One of the buildings across from the park has actual gas lamps outside, how neat is that?!

And now on to today’s post! The start of another week and it’s time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

I have had this frame sitting on my desk for a while and thought it would make a good addition to my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with a strip of Basic Gray going across the middle. Next up is that Frame, it’s from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Pack and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My roses are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. They are all cut out with the coordinating Vintage Roses Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. For the greeting I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Foam Tape holds that in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added to the roses with Multi-Matte Medium and some Onyx, Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins to finish the card! I still love those roses and the Clear Droplets are really neat! Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday! The fabulous Julee has given us another great sketch…

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too! Woodgrain Vellum Embossed Butterfly Wish

Ahh… Wednesday, the halfway mark! My day yesterday was nice. I had a somewhat productive day at work, got some things done which like I always say is a good thing. After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Renee and Michael. We discussed some crafty things and I got my stamps for the next class. We headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and made sure that we embarrassed Renee with some birthday shenanigans, it’s her birthday on Sunday. An early happy birthday to her! The rest of the evening was spent crafting. Another great day! Yay!

I also got a very nice present from a wonderful person… so nice to get a just because, thoughtful gift! I’m a little obsessed with London, especially the Underground. This is a vintage map of the London Underground from circa 1950…

Today I have a nice simple card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I inked up the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand and stamped it directly onto the card base. The greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the card too. My butterfly is heat embossed with two of the three layers form the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set in “Vintage” Pool Party and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. The body is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I used a piece of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. A nice simple card that would make a fun birthday, thank you or thinking of you card to brighten someones day! Paper Players 241

Yes, this is my third post in the last 24 hours! LOL! I had busy Sunday! My dad and I fixed my convertible top, it decided that it didn’t want to go up anymore! Took the back seat out and refilled the hydraulic pump, now it goes up like a champ! After that I worked on projects, I had lots of them to do and I’m happy to report that I managed to get them all finished! Around 1:00pm Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte, she is going to mind the store for Renee today. Renee has some personal business to take care of so Taylor volunteered. She had to learn the register and I needed to pick out paper for next month’s card class. We came back to my house and had dinner with my parents and then I had to go and get Kim so that we could go to my friend Erin’s grandmother’s wake. I think that they said that she was 94 so she had a nice long life. Came back to my house and finished up some last minute stuff. A very busy but productive and fun Sunday!

Well, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Thankfully I knew just what I was going to do! My card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a piece of Watercolor Paper to heat emboss the hello from the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To do my watercolor background I used my Aquapainter and some Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride Ink. I tried to give the Bermuda Bay a little bit of an ombre look before moving on to the Blushing Bride. A quick shot with the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process and it was time to die cut the hello with the coordinating dies. I also cut out three more on plain white card stock and glued them all together before putting them in the negative space from the first die cut. A super clean and pretty simple card! I love the stacked die cut with the nice subtle watercolor background! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge along with my barrage of other posts! LOL!
