Paper Players 278

What a nice day I had yesterday! Kim made some very impressive oatmeal for breakfast yesterday morning, it had blueberries and blackberries and all kinds of other goodness in it! The cable guy showed up on time and was there about an hour. He finished and I left the apartment and headed over to see my friend Isabella. It’s always so nice to catch up with her! From there it was off to the Subway and back to Penn Station to head back out to the Island. I had a little lunch when I got home and then later in the evening Danielle stopped by to get some cards from me. I do miss seeing her and the rest of the crew but after she tells me the goings on at the office I certainly don’t miss that! LOL! Danielle left around 7:00 and I headed over to get Heather and we went to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to her house we watched some ID TV, quite addictive! Like I said, I had a very nice day!

I thought that I would mention that if you are looking for any crafting supplies you might want to head over to my friend Sue’s Etsy shop FlowerCraftEmporium! She has a lot of cool stuff for sale!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to this week I want send some love Claire’s way for selecting me as her headliner for last week’s color challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #278

I do love a Valentine! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of black and white Washi Tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Red Felt and Black 110lb. They are then adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with SNAIL. My tag is cut from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Craft Dies. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black and White Baker’s Twine through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Foam Tape. Another heart is cut out with the Hearts Stackables from a piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas on Market Street Gold Foil Vellum and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. The little red heart is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I die cut a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper along with some Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Dies. They too are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the simplicity of the card and the texture of the red felt adds that little extra something! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players CAS Valentine challenge from Sandy! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! I wish you all a very happy Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 31 – Birthday!

I had a very low key Monday. I FacetTimed with Andrea in the morning and then took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to go over next month’s class with Renee. A bunch of the ladies were there scrapping the day away and Angie was playing with Renee’s new Cricut Explore Air. They were cutting out embellishments for pages. Boy do they require a lot of assembly! After that I came home and UPS delivered my new Vacuum! I got it on HSN for a great price after my Dyson died. I had it for 6 years but I would expect a $400 vacuum to last longer than that! This time I got a Hoover Windtunnel Air and boy does it have some impressive power! The woman in the video on HSN actually had the vacuum stick to the ceiling! You have to take a look at the live presentation video HERE! I was sold! LOL! After dinner I watched a little TV and then made a quick card. Today I’m going over to see my friend Sue and then this evening I’m going to head into Manhattan and stay at Kim’s so I can be there in the morning for Time Warner. A nice little mid-week break from the Island!

Tuesday and we have another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you! This time it’s birthdays…

SIP Challenge 31 - Birthday Theme 800

My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. The patterned paper is from the American Crafts DIY 6×6 Pad and is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Craft Dies. I adhered it on slight angle to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Craft Die and that too is adhered to the card at a slight angle. The balloons pieces of Recollections Red, Gold and Aqua Glitter Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The gold and red one are adhered with SNAIL and the Aqua one with Foam Tape. A piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with one of the other dies from the Birthday Frame and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to balance the bottom of the frame. I love the sparkle on the glitter paper and the background paper makes my want to sing! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Birthday Theme Challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 218

Happy Friday! Yesterday I got some things done around the house and crafted for a bit while I FaceTimed with Andrea. Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a visit and watched My Strange Addiction on YouTube, now that is an odd show! I had some dinner and then ran to BJ’s and Target with Heather . She dropped me back off at my house and I got in my car and headed over to her house for Thirsty Thursday! Brian, Stephanie and Adam came too! We ended up watching Lip Sync Battle with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. That is an awesome show! Today I plan to get some crafty things finished and then clean right after I see Star Wars with Brian in the morning!

Freshly Made Sketches is back for the new year with a new sketch for this week’s challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 218

A very different sketch indeed! My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Blushing Bride and my background is a piece of paper from the Pebbles Yours Truly 6×6 Paper Pad. Across the bottom is a piece of Ivory 110lb that I used the Simon Says Stamp On the Edge Love You Die on and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the top is some more Ivory 110lb, I used the Corner Chomper to round the corners, punched a hole in them with a 1/8″ Hole Punch, threaded some American Crafts Pink Hemp Twine though and adhered them to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The heart and arrow are cut from more Blushing Bride with the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Dies. They are adhered to the card with a combination of Foam Tape and Multi-Matte Medium. I tied the twine in a bow and the card is done! Love that scribble Heart and Arrow and the Love You Edge die too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Paper Players 276

Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #276

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 429

Hmm… the first Monday of 2016 means back to work. Not a happy Monday at all! I did have another awesome weekend! Yesterday Kim and I had breakfast with Heather and then we went to Roosevelt Field mall. I helped them both pick out new comforters, if I can’t spend any money I do like to spend other peoples! LOL! I had seen a backpack, the one that I have been looking for and Heather bought it for me! Isn’t she the best! Later on in the afternoon Kim and I went to SmashBurger for lunch, delicious! I took Kim to the station at 4:00 so she could make her way back home. She needs to come out more often, we had a blast! When I got back to my house I crafted for a little while and watched some TV then around 9:30 Louis called and picked me up and we went to the diner. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday at all!

After a little break over the Holiday’s I’m back over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Mojo429

My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. Mojo Monday 428

I had a little bit of quiet day yesterday. I got some crafty stuff done in the morning and then my friend Maureen came over and helped me take some pictures of things for Etsy. After that we grabbed some pizza and then ran into A.C. Moore so I could get some more of the plastic ornaments and make a few more of them like the one from yesterday. From there we headed over to HomeGoods, with the top down again because it was in the high 60’s! I picked up a board to tape my pieces down to when I watercolor them and Maureen got some stuff too. The rest of the evening was spent puttering around the house and then I watched a little TV before bed. This morning I’m off to retrieve Brian, Kim and the kiddies from the airport! I can’t wait to hear all about their Disney trip!

Starting another week with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge, it’s the last one of 2015…

Mojo428

I used some purples and blues on my card for a nice bright winter card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I “embossed” with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley and Nadine Snowflake Craft Dies and a beige Embossing Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Purple Glitter Paper. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then used some Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water to color the tag. The bottom of the tag is trimmed off in a v and some 3/8″ White Grosgrain Ribbon is tied in the top. The tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Circle Sayings Holiday Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama, the snowflake is stamped in High Dive and I cut it out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. To finish the card I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Aqua Sequins. I love the colors together and the cool effect on the tag! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Mojo Monday Sketch of 2015! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

PCCCS169 DT Sketch 11-04-2015

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 415

Happy Monday! I can’t believe that we leave in two days to go home. It’ has been such a great vacation I don’t want it to end! Yesterday we went to my Uncle Steve’s in Harrow for a BBQ and that was really nice! After the BBQ Brian and I headed out to meet Tracey and Jules to go to another BBQ at Tracey’s friend Tracey’s house. That was a good time too! Tracey had to stay in London at her mum’s last night so we hung out with Jules and watched some TV before calling it a night. I’m going into London today to have coffee with my friend Leslie, can’t wait to meet her!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo415Sketch_zps8h1rr88q

I kept my card simple and right to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Island Indigo. Tucked behind it it is a piece of Blushing Bride with some American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine tied through the top. The greeting is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting complete the card! I like the mix of colors and sequins make everything a little better don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Fab Friday 66

Oh yes, it’s my favorite day of the week as you know! Yesterday was hot and muggy here, we made it up to 90, not that I’m complaining, better than snow any day! My friend Robin and I had Panera for lunch, one of my faves! After dinner I came home and Skyped with Andrea and worked on my card for today. My friend Sue stopped by around 7:45 and we chatted and I showed her some of my recent projects and she made a list of things that she wanted to get! It really would be nice if I got commission on the other stuff that I use! LOL! Tonight I have a lot of projects to get through and this weekend is going to be a busy one. I have to make the cards for next week’s card class at Scrap-A-Latte but I get to go and see Renee so that’s always good! What’s on for you this weekend?

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our sketch challenge…

Fab Fri 66 6-12-2015

I had the idea in my head for this card from the first time that I saw the sketch, I just had to wait for my new goodies to arrive before I could make it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack to the base and on the right side is a piece of Washi Tape from Little B. The frame is from a pack from Heidi Swapp and is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. My dragonfly and greeting are from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set. The dragonfly is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then again in Versa-Mark on Vellum. I sprinkled some Gold Stampin’ Glitter on and then covered it in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it. The body and wings are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered together with a Bling Glue Dot. Some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape hold him to the card. The friend is heat embossed in Gold and Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits. A little SNAIL on the ends hold it to the frame. Finally, a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Charcoal Sequins finish the card. I love the dragonfly, especially with the vellum wings! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Be sure and visit the blog to see the rest of the design team’s projects and enter your card in the gallery too! Thank you for spending a little of your Friday with me, have fabulous day! 🙂
