Mojo Monday 482

And to begin our week here we have snow! Not a lot but snow none the less! Oh Winter go away! LOL! I had a very busy day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I got all of the Lawn Fawn Pre-Orders together, there were a lot so thank you very much! Finished them up last night and will get them off today! I also have a boat load of projects to start or get finished, but it’s mostly crafty things so it’s all good! I got a few things in from Sunny Studios too and they will be up on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Site later on today! 😀

Monday and we have a new Mojo Monday sketch for you…

I kept very true to the sketch and used a bunch of Lawn Fawn goodies! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Battleship Gray and then a piece of Authentique Fabulous 12×12 serves as my background. Next up is another piece of Battleship Gray that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts and on top of that is another piece of the Fabulous 12×12 cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts, some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres it to the card. Two squares of Rose Chintz are cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts, they are adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My heart is a piece of Ballerina Pink cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts, again adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The greeting is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card Stock and two more pieces of Battleship Gray cut out with the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hugs Lawn Cuts. I adhered them to each other, the top one slightly offset, with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with 3D Foam Squares and Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins and the card is done! Love the pinks with the gray and the nice sparkly greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see your take on the sketch in the gallery! Thank you for staring another week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Grateful Wintry Leaf

Well, what snow we didn’t get on Friday we certainly got yesterday! I think the final total by my house was 6 inches and further out on the Island they got up 12 inches. When I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store it had just started. We decided to close early so I stopped by the Post Office to drop off a bunch of packages and then headed home. The roads were terrible, it was really cold so none of the snow melted. It was like you were driving on little tiny frozen marbles! Thank god for traction control! I’ll tell you, my little car is packed full of nice surprises! The rest of my evening was spent relaxing, I did make another quick card and today I want to get some projects finished at the Store. Hopefully they will have done something with the roads by morning! 😀

As I always say I do like to stretch my stamps and use them for more than what they are intended for and I think that we could all use a little more grateful in our lives! Today’s card uses a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Authentiqe Wintery 12×12 Paper. I heat embossed the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lacy Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. The coordinating dies are used to cut it out along with three pieces of Black 110lb that are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. On my strip of Kraft I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Onyx Black and adhered the strip over the leaf to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the grateful to the strip with Multi-Matte Medium. A nice simple card that gets stepped up by the heat embossed Vellum leaf! I hope that you like today’s card! As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 80 – Card Makers Choice!

Well, yesterday was definitely a Monday! When I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store I found out that we had no electricity! One thing after another! Renee and Angie were there so I decided that I would come home and work on some projects that I needed to get finished. It was a rainy day anyway and what better place to be than in the Stampin’ Galley! I did that until dinner time and then after that I came home and watched a little TV before running to Target to get a few essentials. Hopefully the power will be back on at the Store today! Who knows what’s next! 😀

I’m happy to announce that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

I have been on a quest lately to come up with relatively simple cards that don’t look simple! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Gray. The background is a piece of paper from the Authentique Believe 12×12 Collection. My greeting is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Card Stock and a piece of Black 110lb. The black is adhered to a piece of 48lb Vellum with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then the Silver Glitter is adhered on top and slightly offset. Next I added a few Silver, Watermelon and Mossy Green Pretty Pink Posh Sequins. After they dried I applied a little Multi-Matte Medium behind the greeting and sequins to adhered the Vellum to the card. I think that card definitely doesn’t look simple but it really wasn’t too complicated to put together and is easily duplicated if you wanted to make a set as a gift for someone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Maker’s Choice Challenge! Make sure you stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fantastic inspiration cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for visiting today! Have an exciting Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 222

I felt a little punky yesterday, my stomach was a little off and I had a headache in the morning. I felt it coming before I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and as usual, I think it will get better but it didn’t until I finally broke down and took some Excedrin. Finally around 2:00 I felt better and finally got to start on some of my projects. When I got to my Parent’s I got a very nice surprise, my little buddy Daniel was there and so were Tristan, my Brother and Erika! Tristan sat with Erika while I ate dinner and she was fascinated by me for some reason! She just kept smiling and laughing. After I finished eating Daniel was ready for me to build some buildings so he could knock them down! He did share a cookie with me with Erika said he does that with no one else! It’s official, I’m the favorite! LOL! It started to rain as I made my way to my house and once inside I watched a little TV and relaxed. Today they are starting on the parking lot at the Store, that should be loads of fun! 😀

We are at mid-week so today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

pcccs222-dt-sketch-12-06-2016

My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Authentique Classic Christmas 12×12 Paper. Down the left I flagged both ends of a piece of Black and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. For my focal point I die cut a piece of Gold Glitter Card and a piece of Ice Gold Curios Metallic using the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and adhered them to each other and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My ornaments are from the Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Cut Set, I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 48lb Vellum, cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the circles with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Black with both ends flagged, it’s adhered with Black 3D Foam Squares. I have missed my sequins so I added a few Gold Pretty Pink Posh ones to finish off the card. I love the almost monochromatic look with the gold and kraft and I still think the ornaments are amazing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to visit with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Players 318

Remember when I said yesterday that I was going to be one tired boy today… I was right! LOL! I didn’t get much accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Renee and I had our friend Evelyn stop by to work on a project and Taylor came by to see me again. After work I came home and waited for my Parent’s to get back from the closing on my Grandmother’s house in Pennsylvania. We had dinner and then I came home and watched TV. I was too tired to do anything else! Today I feel much better and will continue to work on getting some more projects finished. 😀

Thankfully I worked ahead and have a card to share with you today that is for this week’s Paper Player Sketch Challenge

paper-players-318

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card stock. I took a piece of Shale and inked the edges with some Hero Arts Navy Ink and a mini Ink Blending Tool. Down the right is a piece of Authentique Strong Collection 12×12 Paper. My little buildings are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s It’s Christmas Time Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Navy that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Kelly’s Warm & Cozy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Navy, flagged the ends and inked the edges. It too is adhered to the circle with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To complete the card it just needed some sparkle so I added a few Little Things by Lucy Nautical Mix Sequins and Rhinestones! And to think that this card all started because I wanted to use the Crossword Paper! I also happen to love that little set of buildings! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge! I appreciate you coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 70 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

It was so nice to have an actual day off yesterday, too bad it was to say goodbye to Heather’s Dad. The church service and the service at the cemetery were very sweet and thoughtful. After, all of us went to a restaurant called Paddy’s Loft. Heather’s Brother Scott spoke of their Dad and it was great to hear his memories. We all had good time and remembered him for the wonderful person that he was. In the end it was not sad but rather a lovely day dedicated to his memory. I was unusually tired when I got home and after I had dinner and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit I took a two hour nap! Not like me at all! It did feel good but that resulted in me staying up much later than I wanted to! Today I’m flying solo at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee has the day off. I’m going to make it a very productive day!

It’s Tuesday and that means that we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge for you…

sip-any-tic-tac-toe-70-800

I went diagonally from top left to bottom right! This card was sort of an evolution, more on that in a bit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Dark Molasses. My piece of patterned paper is from the Authentique Fresh Collection 12×12 and the greeting from the Hero Arts Grateful Leaves Stamp & Die Combo is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. I die cut the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die from some Gold Mirror Card and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The leaves are also from the Hero Arts Grateful Leaves Stamp & Die Combo and are stamped in Hero Arts Vintage Metallic Ombre Ink. I heat set the ink, because I have no patience to let it dry (LOL) and then heat embossed the veins in more Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. They are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A piece of May Arts Natural Twine is tied in a multiple bow and adhered to the leaves with a Glue Dot and the card is finished. Or so I thought, the more I looked at it the more I felt it needed something more. So I used the Hero Arts Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo and some Wet Cement, Forever Green, Red Raspberry and Black Ink to make a female Cardinal. I Googled to see what they looked like because I didn’t want a red Cardinal and I think I got pretty close. Her is a picture for reference…

female-cardinal

I cut her out with the Coordinating Frame Cut and adhered her to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. Some Black Gelly Roll Pen and Signo White Gel Pen is added to the eye for a little extra detail and a few Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Rose Gold and Gold Sequins for some sparkle and the card is finished! I think that the female Cardinal is just as pretty as the male in her own way and the card definitely feels more finished with her added! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you very much for sharing in a little of my Tuesday! Have a terrific day! 🙂

Paper Players 314

Tuesday it was warm and muggy and I had on jeans, yesterday it was warm when I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and by 12:00 it was cold and I had shorts on! I guess I need to pay a little more attention to the weather before I leave the house! LOL! Speaking of the store Angie was with us today, she worked from “home”! I also got a very nice surprise, my friend Patrice stopped by with her mum! It was so nice to see her and she brought some of her fabulous cards to show me! I wish I had taken some pictures, she is so talented! I’m going to get her to join Instagram and share her work! Today Renee has her Home Decor Class and I’m going to get my newsletter out!

Before we get to my little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today I want to thank Clare for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s Taste of Fall Challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-314

I’m really loving the new “hand drawn sets” from Altenew and I think that this set might have my favorite greeting ever! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the coffee bean stamp from the Altenew Coffee Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Copper and Gold Embossing Powder. The strip down the right side is a piece of Authentique 12×12 Paper from the Fabulous line. I used the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a circle and another piece of the 12×12 paper. My greeting and all of the images are also from the Coffee Love Set. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black. Some E-Z Runner and Fun Foam adheres the circle to the card. I heat embossed the coffee press in Copper onto a piece of Vellum, cut it out with my Scissors and colored in the back with a Copic. It’s adhered to the circle with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. For a little bit of a change I heat embossed the cups onto a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock and cut them out too. They are adhered with 3D Foam Squares. Of course no card would be complete without a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Rose Gold Sequins! Someone saw the card at the store and said that it reminded them of an ad for coffee! I do love the Stamp Set, especially the embossed coffee beans! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit and I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 66 – Anything But a Card!

What a lovely rainy, drizzly, overcast day we had here yesterday! I overslept, got up at 9:00! Made it to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store by 10:05! Renee and I both had very productive days! I got a lot of work done and managed to get a few projects finished too! After I came home and had some dinner I saw Taylor for a bit and then went over to Brian and Kim’s too meet up with Heather for a little early Thirsty Thursday! We had a nice chat and got caught up! Today I want to get some more projects finished at the Store and maybe even get my calendar finished! Yay! Before I get to today’s post though our friend Linda from Chicago accused me of being organized! LOL! Well, here is a picture of the fine tuned organization that I use for my cards…

card-pile

There are many more piles just like that! Filed away… I think not! 😛

Today I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog for this week’s Anything But a Card challenge…

sip-challenge-66-but-a-card

Being around all of that scrapbooking with Renee makes me feel the need to do a layout every once in a while! My page background is a piece of paper from The Authentique Fabulous 12×12 Line and it’s mounted to a piece of Black 110lb. The photo of Maggie and I was taken in January 2015 in Disney. I mounted it to a piece of Crisp Green and then to piece of Rose Chintz. To the left of the picture is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Bo Bunny Picture This Die that I borrowed from Angie! The strips across the top and down the left are more Crisp Green with a flower from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black. My flowers are from the same set and are also stamped in Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them and the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the page with 3D Foam Squares. Finally I needed the perfect greeting (or journaling in this case) and I found it in the Altenew Painted Inspiration Photopolymer Stamp Set. I really love that Golden Garden Set with the sketchy flowers and the Painted Inspirations Set for the lovely greetings! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team project for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Anything But a Card Challenge! The rest of the Design Team has some amazing projects to share with you over on the BLOG so be sure to go and pay them a visit! We would love to see what you come up with so make sure that you post your project in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to see me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 206

I have come to realize that there just aren’t enough hours in the day for me! I’m sure that many of you feel that way! I try to get ahead but time just gets away! One day I’ll get it figured out and when I do I’ll share it with you! LOL! It was yet another busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I tried to get my Newsletter done, that didn’t happen. I do get quite a few interruptions throughout the day from peeps with little questions. I’m always happy to help someone out and I really don’t mind it at all! But there goes that time! We had a nice steady flow of customers, Taylor stopped up and had lunch with me. She is really into coloring lately and brought her coloring book and pencils. I FaceTimed with Andrea, we always have a laugh. After work I headed over to see Heather. He dad is doing a little better, she has been busy with him and school and work. We took a ride over to Bed, Bath & Beyond so that she could pick up some stuff. A lovely evening for a ride in my little AC-less convertible. It’s supposed to rain on and off for the next few days. That will be fun! I guilted Jessica into cutting my hair this morning. I have had enough of the man bun. I did it and now it’s time to cut it all off! After my haircut I’m going to head over to LaGuardia Airport to pick up Ken Oliver. He is teaching classes for Renee tonight and tomorrow. I like to see Ken, he’s a really nice guy!

It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS206 DT Theme 8-10-2016

So I found this really cool Patterned Paper by Authentique, but I failed to write down the name! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Wildflower Honey. The background is that piece of Authentique Paper. My little pieces of wheat are cut from another piece of Wildflower Honey and Slate with the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it on a piece of 48lb Vellum in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and then adhered the Vellum to the back of the paper and then adhered the paper to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Yes, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and some iridescent yellow sequins that I failed to write down the name of too! I do love the soft yellow and gray against the chevron patterned woodgrain and the leaves are so delicate and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thank you for stopping by and sharing in a little of my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

SIP 44 Lighthouse Inspiration 800

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Don’t forget to visit the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see what you make so be sure to share it with us in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂
