Paper Players 288

Sometimes the week just goes way too fast! I was up until around 2:30am last night which resulted in me getting up at 9:30, way too late! LOL! I have a little project that I’m researching and hopefully everything will go well and I’ll be able to share what I’m up to soon. I got to speak to Michael for a while today, always good to catch up! I did get to go over to my parent’s to see Daniel and Erika for a bit before I had to go and pick up Bill and take him back over to Deer Park to pick up Anthony’s van. They fixed it and all is working perfectly again. I went back over to my parent’s house for dinner, got to see my brother for a bit too. When I got back to my house I crafted for a little while and then binge watched Fixer Upper on HGTV, love what they do with houses! I’m off to spend the day with my friend Sue today, we’ll get some Etsy stuff done and hopefully craft a bit too!

The little card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #288

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took some paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Collection and adhered it to a piece of Solar White 80lb. That is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I cut the top of a piece of Basic Gray with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies and then heat embossed my sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and E-Z Runner. The anchor and sailboat are from the same set. The sailboat is stamped in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and the Anchor in Soft Granite to Black Ombre Ink. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and the are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I guess I’m dreaming of a little beach getaway! Love that Ombre Ink, especially the Pool to Navy! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Nautical Tags Birthday

A very good Sunday morning to you! I had a nice day in Manhattan yesterday, it was great to see Jim and Diane and catch up with them. After I left their house I met up with Kim and we went to a little Italian place called Felice for lunch and I had the best homemade ravioli! We stopped back at Kim’s apartment for a bit and then headed downtown. At 14th Street we said good bye and I headed over to the Westbeth Center to meet up with Barbara and catch up with her. There are some fun things in the works at The Ink Pad so stay tuned for more on that! I made it home from the city just in time to say goodbye to my Aunt and Uncle, it was great to have them here and they will be missed. This morning I’m headed back into Manhattan to work at The Ink Pad for the day so if you are around come by and say hello!

My friend Michael is on a roll, he has another post today for the Mojo Monday sketch! Some more really neat Halloween cards! You can check them out HERE! 🙂

My friend Danielle had asked me for a birthday card for her boyfriend’s dad’s birthday. He is a big boat fan so this is what I came up with. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large and Small Tags dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and another piece of Seaside Paper. On the larger tag I used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the bottom corners. Using the Simon Says Stamp Sailboat Die I cut the negative from the smaller patterned paper tag and then tied them together with some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord. They are then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of Smoky Slate is cut out with the middle size Simon Says Stamp Splashy Waves Die, stamped with Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Night of Navy and adhered to the bottom of the tag. My anchor is a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies and then covered in Versa-Mark and Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder, it’s heat set and then adhered to card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few red enamel dots from Recollections are added and complete the card. Danielle was quite happy with the card and I hope that the recipient was too! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, thanks very much for visiting and have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 201

Today is the ultimate Friday for me, I’m off from work until September 21st! I have a few things that need to be taken care of but I will be sneaking out a little early today too! Yesterday was another lovely day, sunny and warm. After work I went and picked up Michael from Sue’s. Her sister Arlene was there so we chatted for a bit and then went over to Michael’s dad’s to get the car. His dad is such a nice guy and I got to meet his step-mom! From there we stopped at the grocery store and then headed over to dinner at Brian and Kim’s. Heather and George were there too. It was a little farewell taco night fro Michael. We had a nice evening and even got to Skype with Carolyn for a little bit when we got back to my house. Boy, am I going to miss him when he leaves on Saturday. Here is a picture of us all from last night, even Izzy and Axe got in on it…

Now on to today’s card, it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 201

Another nautical themed card! The base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Marina Mist with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The waves are from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered part of them to the card across the middle. The sailboat is from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut it out with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies. A piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The rest of the waves and sailboat are adhered with Foam Tape to the circle. My greeting is also from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the card base. I love the two sailboat themed stamp sets and the patterned paper goes so well with them! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for coming by and visiting with me today! Have an absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 407

Seeing the weekend end is such a bummer! I did have another absolutely fantastic weekend so no complaining! Saturday in Manhattan with Michael and friends at The Ink Pad and then a nice lazy Sunday morning. After a late breakfast with Heather Michael and I worked on some projects and he made two cards and did a post! You have to go and take a look and see what he made by stopping by his BLOG! Around 3:00 we headed out to Michaels and then stopped for some pizza for lunch before taking a little trip over to see my friend Chantal. It has been way too long since I have seen her! We had a nice chat and then stopped back at my house before going to Long Beach. I forget how nice it is to go to the beach and just walk along the ocean and that’s just what we did. Here are a few pictures…

A very nice way to end a great weekend!

But Monday’s are pretty good too because that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo407

I got a new toy over the weekend and was dying to try it out! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad on the lower half and across the top of that is a piece of Real Red. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the Real Red. The lifesaver and the sailboat are also from the same stamp set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copic Markers to color them in and then cut them out with my Paper Snips. My shaker pocket is created using a stamp pocket from Simon Says Stamp and the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool. I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and then adhered the lifesaver and the Smoky Slate half circle to the pocket. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam then holds the pocket to the card. A little Foam Tape adheres the sailboat to the half circle and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Fuse Tool, especially for creating a fun and easy shaker pocket! I’m also having fun playing with the Copic Markers, I still have a long way to go with my coloring however! I really hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Be sure and stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Teams cards too! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me and share in some of my day! I really do appreciate you stopping by and I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 404

Happy Monday! I had a nice fantastic weekend! Saturday in Manhattan and then some quality time cleaning the car yesterday. I finished off the evening with a little Chinese food and a movie with Mr. Trent. We watched the end of The Devil Wears Prada and then Into the Blue. I also managed to get some crafty stuff done yesterday too and ran to Target. It was rainy and overcast most of the weekend but when you are having that much fun you don’t even notice! I hope that you all had a nice weekend too!

Monday, and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge from the one and only Julee Tilman…

Mojo404

You know that I love a Tall & Skinny! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My base for the background is a piece of Smoky Slate. Two pieces of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6X6 Collection are up next. The anchor is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on White. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the circle. I love all of the nautical-ness (is that even a word?! LOL!) of the card, a perfect birthday card for any guy! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Now head on over to the blog and see what other inspiration awaits you from the rest of the team and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much of visiting today! Have an absolutely amazing Monday! 🙂
