Fab Friday 147

Another early day with the kiddos but it’s Friday!! I spent the day on Wednesday looking for a new clothes dryer. We have some scratch and dent places around here but most of the stuff there looked like it fell off of the back of a truck doing about 80 MPH! LOL! I settled on a new one, it ended up only being about $100 more than one of the banged up ones. Not sure what’s going on for the weekend, but that’s ok, I do like a surprise from time to time! 😀

In my effort to try and get back into creating mode I have a card to share with you today for the new Fab Friday challenge…

More fun with the new release from Concord & 9th! I started my card by heat embossing the large snowflake from the Concord & 9th Snow Flurry Photopolymer Stamp Set twice in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Blue Print Curious Metallic and then used the Coordinating Die to cut it out. My greeting is also from the Concord & 9th Snow Flurry Set and is heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Steel Navy Embossing Powder onto a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic. I added a few of the snow flakes and then used the rectangle die from the Concord & 9th Just Because Dies to cut it out. I also cut it from a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to frame it. The snowflake is adhered to a card base of Solar White 110lb. I used another die from the Concord & 9th Just Because Dies to cut out the pine branches from Gold Metallic 27lb Vellum. Some 3M Foam Tape is added to the back of the greeting and the pine branches are added tot he back before it’s added to the card. To finish it off I scattered some Little Things by Lucy Nautical Sparkle Sequins and a few Hero Arts Clear Gems. I love that Steel Navy Embossing Powder and the blue and gold together! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and get some more inspiration and share your card with us in the gallery! Thanks for visiting with me today, I hope that you all have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

United We Flourish – Ellen Hutson with Concord & 9th!

Hello! I’m honored today to be a part of the United We Flourish Release Blog Hop from Ellen Hutson in collaboration with Concord & 9th! These stamps and dies are designed by Concord & 9th and are available exclusively from Ellen Hutson! The set is called Sweet Sprinkles and is a fantastic set for making cards for all sorts cards for different occasions! I paired the set with another great one from Concord & 9th, the Sprinkles Turnabout.

I started my card by stamping the Sprinkles Turnabout Stamp in Doe Ink using my MISTI onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I only stamped it for two turns. Next I stamped the ice cream cone in Doe and the ice cream in Minty Fresh with the oh so sweet stamped in Doe inside the ice cream scoop. They are from the Sweet Sprinkles Set and are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the strip I stamped the smaller sprinkles, also from the Sweet Sprinkles Set in Minty Fresh. I wanted a strip to go behind it that matched my card perfectly so I swiped my Doe Ink Pad across another piece of Solar White 80lb. The background and two strips are adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used 3M Foam Tape to adhered my ice cream and added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to the ice cream for a little sparkle! A sweet simple card, great for a birthday or just about any other occasion! I hope that you like my card for the Ellen Hutson with Concord & 9th United We Flourish Blog Hop! Next up on the hop is Kittie Caracciolo! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your hop! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 258… Again! & Etsy!

Hello my friends! I finished taking down the wallpaper border in the kitchen yesterday. Stephanie stopped by and dropped off some heavy duty remover for the stubborn glue that wouldn’t come off and she hung out for a bit. I would like it if someone would be kind enough to send some paint stripping gnomes to help get the paint off of the cabinets! There are probably about 5 layers on there, not going to be a fun process at all! It’s supposed to rain today so I probably won’t get to start it until tomorrow, gives me time to mentally prepare myself! LOL! 😀

I promised a few weeks ago that I would let you know when all of my purge goodies were up on my friend’s Etsy Store and today is the day! There are over 150 new sets, some brand new and some gently used all up to 50% off retail! Head on over by clicking HERE and check everything out!

So last week I inadvertently posted my card for the Paper Craft Crew challenge and it wasn’t really supposed to go up until this week. I made a new card so you get a twofer! Here is the sketch once again…

I used the May 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit to create today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Pool Party, on the bottom portion I used the Stencil from the Kit and some Tide Pool Ink with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. Across the panel is a piece of Calypso Coral that is flagged on the right along with some coral cut out using a Die from the Kit. The images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and I colored them in with my Copics and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. They are adhered wth 3D Foam Squares to a piece of 65lb Vellum that is cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies and that is then adhered to the background. I stamped the greeting from the Kit and then adhered to the panel to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I do think that the mermaid and the stencil are quite fun, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for visiting today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Well, the rainy day did turn out to be a productive one! I got most of what I had to do finished! I also got a haircut and ran some errands and had some lunch with Heather. Dinner with my Parents and then finished the evening off with some TV. Today I think I’m supposed to go over to Jim’s to help with some projects! I never fins out until the last minute! LOL! Should be a fun day! 😀

I have a simple fun card for you today! I used the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp some images and a greeting onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To line up the greeting I stamped the outline and then used my Mini MISTI to stamp the colored part. It needed something more so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Onyx and American Crafts Orange Sequins! Like I said super simple card but I love the orange slices and fun greeting! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you so much for coming by! Have a sensational Saturday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Case a Designer!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post for today! We have a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog for the month of March! This time we ask you to CASE a Designer!

Just choose one of the Design Team’s cards as your inspiration and go from there! I love Lindsey’s simple Lovely Cards! You can see the original post HERE. I thought the way that she used the Hello Lovely stamp to create a subtle background was so clever! First I used the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Coordinating Butterfly Card Dies to cut out the wings, overlay and body for the butterfly. I positioned the wings in the MISTI and stamped the outline in Black Licorice and the fill-in in Juice Box. To hold them together I adhered a piece of Black behind the wings, adhered the Vellum die cut wings on top and then the body. For my card base I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I placed the folded card into my MISTI and positioned the flower cluster from the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set where I wanted it, inked it up with some Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers Ink and stamped. While the card was in the MISTI I also stamped the greeting from the Butterfly Beauty Set in Black Licorice in the lower right corner. The butterfly is adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square. I stamped two more of the small butterflies in Ballet Slippers and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink and Orchid Sequins to finish the card. I love that butterfly and the subtle stamped background, thanks for the inspiration Lindsey! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th CASE a Designer Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done to inspire you and we would love for you to share your card with us in the gallery! You have the whole month to play along! Thanks for stopping by again today! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Well, I think that I experienced a new level of freeing cold yesterday! Not so much the temperature which was 22 but the wind was had gusts up to 60mph! It was the kind of cold that gets into your bones and you can’t get rid of it! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun! My friend Jan comes in between the two times so she can be nice and relaxed! She does such a great job when she does! I had to run out to the Post Office, I drove because it was way too cold and windy to walk! Renee and I spent the rest of the day finishing up projects and around 5:15 my little buddy Daniel called me to ask me when I was coming home because he was waiting for me! I left at 5:30, can’t keep that little boy waiting! When I got my Parent’s I had dinner with him and Taylor. After he showed me a new truck that he wants, I’m sure that my Parent’s have already bought it! LOL! He also insisted that we take a selfie! He members better than I do!

daniel-me-12-2016

As you can see from the picture he was trying to push the button! My Parents took him home around 7:00 and I headed over to Heather’s to get her so that we could run some errands. We finished that quickly and went back to her house. I helped her wrap one of George’s Christmas Gifts and was home by 10:30. Today is the second day of Card Class sure to be even more fun! 🙂

I have seen a few requests in the comments recently asking me to share more of the things that I do at the Store so today I’m sharing the four projects that we made in this month’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class. The featured company is Hero Arts!

The first card is the shaker! I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies to cut out the window from a piece of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Fun Foam. Then I traced the inside the window onto a piece of Moonstone Blue. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe and the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Holiday Mittens Stamp & Die Combo in Tide Pool. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Black. Next I added the Acetate to the back of the white panel and and then adhered the Fun Foam with E-Z Runner. Some Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter is sprinkled on the blue and then the white window panel is adhered to it with more E-Z Runner. My tree is from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo, it’s stamped in Mint Julep and Tide Pool. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying so that I could emboss the snow layer in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. The tree is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the card, it’s a simple shaker but looks like you are looking out of an apartment window at the Brooklyn Bridge in the snow!

sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-2

The second card is another simple Christmas card. I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with Mint Julep Ink. My tags are from the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Stamp & Die Combo. The large tag is stamped in Dark Quatz and the smaller one is heat embossed with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine into a bow and adhered the panel to my card base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The tags are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins are added with two to hide the adhesive holding on the Vellum tag. Love the simplicity of the card and the different colors!

sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-1

My third card is actually one that I CASE’d from Yana Smakula! As soon as I saw the card I loved it and had to make it right away! The background is created by stamping some of the images from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Die Combo, the first layer is heat embossed in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing powder and the second layer in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add a little Soft Pool Ink to highlight the heat embossed images. Next I used the die from the set to cut out a notch in the side of the card. I turned the card over and placed a gift card so that it showed though the notch and traced around it on a piece of Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the place where the gift card was traced onto the Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the background. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhered the greeting over a piece of Natural Twine and then adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are added, a gift card is slipped into the slot and the twine is tied in a bow! I really do love the idea of this card, that Yana is so clever!

sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-3

Finally, instead of another card this month I thought it would be neat to make two quick and easy tags! All of the images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped the jars in Soft Pool, the trees in Green Hills, the deer and bear in Cup O Joe and the house in Wet Cement. A little snow is stamped in more Soft Pool and then they are cut out using the Coordinating Dies. I punched a hole in the top and tied some Natural Twine though. Super simple yet really neat gift tags! That Winter Scene Set is still a favorite of mine!

Freshly Made Sketches 262

It was a seriously windy day here yesterday, especially by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Had to be gusts up to 50 MPH! I made a few cards and got some other things taken care of. My list sometimes seems to never get any shorter, but I’m sure that we all feel that way! When I got to my Parent’s house Daniel was still there! I had a quick dinner and then he and I played for a while! He has the best laugh and boundless energy! I wish he would share some of that energy with me! LOL! After my Parents left to take him home I came to my house and watched a little YouTube, Friday night fun! Today Renee has a guest at the store teaching some classes and I have my little buddy Daniel’s 3rd Birthday party! That will be loads of fun! 😀

The card that I made at the Store is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-262

A super simple sketch indeed! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background stamp onto a piece of Kraft with some Hero Arts Soft Brown Ink and the panel is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. Across the top half is a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Card that I adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My card and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s Warm & Cozy Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the card in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Copics. My greeting is heat embossed onto a piece of Cosmic Grape with Hero Arts Gold Embossing powder. I cut them both out with Scissors and adhere them to the gold strip with 3D Foam Squares. A little scattering os Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Mossy Green, Raspberry and Gold Sequins Completes the card! I love that Hand Drawn Snowflakes Stamp and the simple car from the Warm & Cozy Set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks you for taking some time out of your day to come by and see me! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Stamp, Ink, Paper Store June Class Cards!

Sunday… I have to say the day now that I’m at the store 7 days a week the days just run into one another! LOL! Yesterday we had more gorgeous weather! Renee had a crop at the store so I got to chat with all the ladies! I helped Edna use her new Altenew stamps and inks, she added some flowers to a scrapbook page and they looked great! Renee brought in the delicious bagels from Miller Place and I had one for breakfast and another one for lunch! Around 4:00 I got a very nice surprise! Andrew stopped by! It was so good to see him! We chatted for a while and I showed him my part of the store. We both headed out around 5:30, Mum had text me to ask me what I wanted from the Chinese food place for dinner and I text her when I left so they could go and get it. We had dinner and Taylor and Kiera stopped by. Afterwards I helped my Dad with the retractable awning that they have on the front of the house and then ran a few errands. When I got back home I crafted for a bit and then watched a little TV. Felt so good to sit on the couch for a bit! Toady it’s just me and Angie at the store, Renee will be out East with her family celebrating her Birthday a little early! Oh, no news from on the baby front, but I’ll keep you posted! How is your weekend going?

Today I finally remembered that I hadn’t shared the cards from the June Stamp, Ink, Paper Card Class! So that’s what I have for you today! They all use stamps and dies from the latest Lawn Fawn release. 24 people made 4 cards each! That’s a lot of cutting and I couldn’t have done it without a little help from Sue and Brian!! The mermaid one is a slider and the smoothie one is the shaker! I think that the smoothie one was the favorite! I hope that you enjoy the cards as much as the class did! Hopefully one day I might get to see some of you at Card Class! Thank you for sharing in my Sunday! Have an awesome day everyone! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 182

It’s Wednesday and after a day filled with rain and gale force warnings followed by a 4 hour power outage the weather has finally settled down here! I had Daniel for a little while in the afternoon and we sort of watched Home but he kept getting distracted by the jellybeans, lollipops, pretzels and chocolate that I have in the house. I never realized how much junk food that I possess, but he quickly pointed that out! The rain stopped for a bit so I took him out for a ride on his bike, halfway down the block it started to pour so we ran back to the house! He had his hands over his eyes while I pushed and steered! After I gave him back to my parents I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and her son Nick was there so he and I played some Heads Up! He’s pretty good! On the way back home Heather called so I stopped by her place and got her and we ran to BJ’s and then went back to her house and watched some TV. This morning I’m heading into Manhattan to see Anna for a bit and then go and pay my friend Isabella a visit!

If it’s mid-week then that means that it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS182 DT Sketch 2-17-2016

I went with a nice simple birthday card! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Essentials:Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL with a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord spooled and tucked behind the upper right corner. Three feathers are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies from Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. I adhered the greeting over the feathers with Foam Tape. The button is from an ancient sequin pack that I got from Target forever-ago, I tied another piece of the Hemp Cord in a bow and adhered it to the card with a Glue Dot. To give the card some shine I added a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine and Mossy Green Sequins to the wood panel. I do love the simplicity of the card and the rustic feel that the hemp cord and wood paper give it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for coming by today, I wish you a Wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Winter Wonderland Ornaments & The Ink Pad Tags Class!

Sunday… the day of… rest?! Nah! I had a restful Saturday instead. I got my laundry done and did some crafty things, snuck in some TV. I love when I watch a movie and it makes you think, and not what you would expect to think about either. Anyway, today I’m off to Manhattan to hang out with Barbara at The Ink Pad. It’s going to be another chilly day, only in the 40’s! Where did those 60’s go?! They say they will back in a few days and I’m looking forward to their return! What’s on for you today?

My project that I have to share with you today is another ornament, this time a shaker! I cut some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Basic Backer Die. The background is a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock cut with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Skyscapes Dies. I adhered it to the backer with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. I cut it in a little less than half and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. My skyline is cut out of some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I added some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter and then adhered the ornament half to the backer with more Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s twine tied through the top give me something to hang it on my tree with! I really do love making these ornaments and the Scene It Dies make is super easy! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament, they are fun to make and I hope that you will try one!

One more thing before I go! I keep forgetting to post the tags that we made in my Tags Class at The Ink Pad last Wednesday! So here they are!
