Mojo Monday 471

Another quick weekend come and gone! It was nice and sunny here yesterday but still cold. I know nothing I can do about that! Renee had her explosion book class at the store and I worked on getting ahead for the week! I made parts for three cards! After work I came home and had dinner with my Parent’s and Taylor. She came back to my house and spent a little time with me… sleeping on the couch! Always good to have a visit with the child. I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley finishing up the cards that I was working on and also finished the one that I started on Saturday night that I didn’t like. After that I watched Star Wars – The Force Awakens. Today is Newsletter day for me at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. It didn’t happen yesterday! I’m also getting a replenishment from Concord & 9th! My favorite stamp company! 😀

It’s the start of a new week and I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Today’s card is nice and masculine and would work for a birthday or even a thank you! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Dotted Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut a piece of Shale to cover the entire front of the card. Next I heat embossed the Stampers Anonymous Ledger Script Stamp in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Battleship Gray. I used the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Dies and the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out two pieces. I ran the circle through my Artisan X-plorer again with the Large Dotted Rectangles and adhered it to the card in the lower left corner. The main panel is another piece of Ivory 110lb cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Altenew Moon Rock Crisp Ink. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the deer head to the panel with Black 3D Foam Squares. In the upper right is another piece of Battleship Gray with the bottom flagged. I die cut the star from the Concord & 9th Happy Card Frames Dies from more Ivory 110lb and heat embossed them a few times with more Brass Embossing Powder. They are adhered with more 3D Foam Squares and Multi-Matte Medium. I always forget that I have that Ledger Script Stamp, I love text stamps and that one looks so neat heat embossed! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a quick trip over the the Design Team BLOG and check out the rest of the cards there for inspiration! We hope to see yours in the gallery! Thanks for starting your week off with me here on my blog! Have an amazing Monday! 🙂

What a rainy overcast day we had here yesterday. I guess we only got the side of Hermine, better than the full force of it! I tried to get some things organized at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday and was mostly successful! It was quiet so I also got some time to make another card! Nothing makes me happier than creating! Love it! Speaking of creating I have some fun news for you today! I’m going to a Designer on a brand new blog celebrating Concord & 9th, one of my favorite companies! It’s called Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th! You can check out the rest of the extremely talented Design Team by going over to the BLOG! Our first challenge is Friday, so I will have two posts for you! Yay! After I got home last night Heather called and I went over and picked her up so we could run a few errands and then we had a glass of wine before I came back home. Today I’m hoping the some more of my orders will show up at the store and I have to get ready for the Magic of Vellum Class tomorrow!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS210 DT Sketch 9-07-2016

I could’t wait to get started on this one! I knew exactly what I was going to do! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Black 110lb over the front. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb. I wanted to use part of a NYC Subway Map for my strip across the middle but I didn’t have any so I went online and found a PDF of it and selected a section and printed it out. It’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. A little pice of Admit One Washi Tape is adhered on the right. Next I die cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Viewfinder from the Echo Park Viewfinder and Ampersand Die Set. On top of that is a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the slide die from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Dies Set. I adhered some Vellum to the back and then adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics. They are all cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. The I love NY is heat embossed onto a piece of Real Red and punched out with a 1/2″ Circle Punch. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black along the bottom left. Another piece of Real Red is made into a little banner and adhered over some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine that is then tied into a bow over the banner. The whole panel is then adhered to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I love the eclectic mish-mosh of elements and that Kelly’s New York Set is one of my all time favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the team’s cards and enter your card into the gallery! Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! I wish you all a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 442

What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo442

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! I hope that you like my Design Team card of this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the team has to inspire you! Don’t forget to add your creation to the gallery! Thank you for beginning your week with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Love is in the Air

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

It’s Thursday already?! Another week is just flying by! Yesterday I FaceTimed with Andrea while we worked on our projects for today’s hop. In the afternoon Taylor and Kiera brought Winston back and we watched some movie trailers on the Apple TV before I headed over to run some errands with Heather. When I arrived at Heather’s our friend Tom was there, he is working on a project with Starbucks not too far from Heather so he had stopped by on his way home. We chatted for a bit and then Heather and I headed out to BJ’s, Target and Petco. We had some dinner at Bellagio in Farmingdale, another great local Italian restaurant. I helped haul all of Heather’s goodies into the house and we laughed about silly stuff for a while and then I headed home. Another good day!

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. This month we have a timely Love is in the Air theme! I do enjoy a little Valentine! If you have arrived here from Dena’s blog welcome! She always has some great stuff! I have a card and a little home decor shaker for you today so let’s get to it!

The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Echo Park Hello Winter 12×12 Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles and adhered on an angle with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The frame, Polaroid Camera and Greetings are from the Lawn Fawn #awesome Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copics to color in the camera along with the Hedgehogs that are from the Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coordinating Lawn Cuts cut all of them out. The inside of the frame has some Audrey Blue Ink that I applied with Mini Ink Blending Tool and across the bottom is a piece of Cucumber Crush that is cut across the top with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. I adhered all of the images and greeting along with a few hearts that are cut from Real Red with the Lawn Fawn Hearts Lawn Cuts to the card with Foam Tape. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and Glossy Accents is added to the hearts and camera for a little more dimension. I love that little camera and the Hedgehogs are just too cute!

OSAYT Feb Blog Hop Card -WM

The second item that I have for you is a little heart shaker ornament. I cut out the heart from Ivory 110lb along with some Fun Foam and Acetate with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. All of them are adhered to each other with Scor-Tape. Before adhering the back side on I filled the heart with Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter and added the Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon so I could hang it up. The coffee cup (I think my all time favorite stamp!) is from the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the little red heart from the set in Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red and adhered the cup to the acetate with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used a tiny piece of Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere that in place. Finally a few of the sequins from the Crate Paper Hello Love Sequin Assortment are adhered to the outside of the heart with Bling Glue Dots. I do really love that little coffee cup and the double acetate makes it so you can see thought the shaker part which I think is really neat!

Paper Craft Crew 180

Well, I was up nice and early this morning, 4:00am to be exact! I went and picked up Brian and Kim and took them to JFK. An hour round trip, not bad at all! Yesterday after I took Sandy to the airport with Andrew we came back to my house and did a little research on some things that I’m looking to get rid of for a friend. For lunch we went to Monty’s for pizza and then came back to the house and watched Lucifer, I really do love that show! After dinner Heather stopped by and picked me up, we ran to Target and Petco to pick up some things. We stopped back at my house so I could get my car and I went to her house to chill for a bit. Louis stopped by later and by the time I got home it was 12:30am! I think I see a nap in my future! LOL! I have to go and open the store for Renee this morning and then I’m going over to see Sue for a bit. Another fun filled Wednesday!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS180 DT Sketch 2-03-2016

I needed some bright colors and the inspiration for the card is the Patterned Paper! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Night of Navy, ran through the Big Shot twice to get the rectangle, and a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. The patterned paper is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All of the stamped images are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped on Ivory 110lb and cut out with the Coordinating Lovely Day Craft Dies. I used Simon Says Stamp Catkin Ink for the wreath and leaves, Rosie Cheeks for the heart and flower at the top, Teeny Bikini for the flower at the bottom and Mint Candy for the greeting banner. They are adhered with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I added a few Pearls to the flowers and some Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon, Ballerina Pink and Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I love the fun mix of colors and I think the patterned paper is a nice contrast to the stamped images! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you, as always, for coming to visit with me! Have a fun Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 433

And we’re off to the start of another week and a new month! I had a very productive day yesterday! I helped my dad do the brakes on his truck in the morning and also got through my mountain of laundry. I also straightened up around the house and got a few crafty things done. Today I have some more organizing to do and I also have to make a plan as to what I’m going to with life in general! Pretty broad description but it needs to be done. I have a few airport runs to make this week dropping people off as they head off on vacation. I’m thinking that one day they will be nice enough to have me tag along! LOL!

The start of the week means another fun sketch from Mojo Monday

Mojo433

This card all began with the thought that I wanted to use a specific patterned paper! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Blushing Bride for the background. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Basic Gray adhered with more SNAIL. My square is a piece of Black 110lb that is also cut out with the Stitched Squares and is adhered with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my MISTI to stamp them in Simon Says Stamp Rosy Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Slate Ink with the leaves stamped in Khaki and Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips. I placed them where I wanted and used a piece of Glad Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some SNAIL and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are all adhered in place and the Press ‘n Seal is removed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to remember exactly where you had them! Thanks Jennifer McGuire for the tip! My greeting is cut from more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it in place! I love the texture that the Woven 3D Embossing Folder gives the card and the layered flowers go so well with the patterned paper! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to share your creation with us! Thanks for starting another week off with me! It’s always great to see you here! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 221

Happy Friday peeps! Yesterday I ended up covering the store for Renee, she needs a day off every once in a while. I worked on a mixed media project while I was there and I hope to get to finish it today. This morning I have to clean out the old car and take it to it’s new owner. I had some good times in that car and it will be missed. I also have to get ready for my card class at The Ink Pad tonight. That will be fun as always. After Scrap-A-Latte I went to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday, loads of laughs with my peeps! One of my favorite evenings of the week! Not sure what’s on for the weekend, how about you?

Today’s card that I have for you is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 221

I used some goodies from this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit to make it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Hello, Love 6×6 Paper Pad and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. I cut out another piece of Black 110lb with two of the dies along with a piece of Vellum. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Vellum. The frame is then adhered to the Vellum and I used some Foam Tape around the back of the frame to create the space for my shaker. A few Crate Paper Hello, Love Sequins Hearts are placed on the card and the frame is adhered over the top. I think that funky paper is pretty cool and I love how the vellum makes all of it so subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks so much for coming by and have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

1600!!

So today is a little bit of a milestone for me! I started blogging back on August 6, 2011 and I have enjoyed every minute of it! I get to share my days and creativity with some of the most amazing and kind people in the world! You all tell me that I get to inspire you but you also inspire me every day with your kind comments and little “chats” that we have! I had no idea that I would make this a daily part of my life when I started but I’m so glad that that is what it has become! Blogging for me, making a card and sharing some of my life and adventures, has become as routine as brushing my teeth! I look forward to making my card and then typing the post every day. The best part of it all is reading the comments! And I have responded to every comment since the start and have made some wonderful friends in the process! And as you have seen in the title of today’s post it’s my 1600th! That is just crazy! So I want to thank you all for coming along on my little journey and I look forward to the next 1600!

Yesterday was a good day! I stopped at Heather’s for lunch again, those panini’s are just too good to pass up! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to chat with Renee and prepare for class. Danielle stopped and got us some Blaze Pizza for dinner, her first time halving it and she loved it! Class was great as it always is and I got to catch up with Danielle which was awesome! On the way home I stopped at Heather’s again and had a glass of wine with her and Stephanie, what better way to end the day?! This afternoon I’ll head back over to the store for the second night of Card Class, can’t wait!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #277

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little stumped by this one! After some playing around I finally came up with something that I liked! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Tempting Turquoise and adhered it to the card a little over to the left and top with SNAIL. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad, it’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My two hearts are cut out using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Stackables from Melon Mambo and Real Red. The larger is adhered with SNAIL and the smaller with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Craft Dies and the Lawn Fawn Scripty XOXO to cut out some Black 110lb and adhered them both to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Over the arrow is a Melon Mambo heart punched out with the EK Success Small Heart Punch and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine, Marshmallow, Pink Peonies and Raspberry Sequins. I do think that the card is neat and would make a great Valentine or even a just because I love you card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge! Thank you sooooooo much for coming by today to celebrate my 1600th blog post too! Have an absolutely amazing Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 276

Sorry about the random post that got sent out last night from 2012! I can’t explain how that happened! I guess like Grace said the blog wanted to take a walk down memory lane! Hopefully that won’t happen again! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue. We chatted and got some more stuff ready for Etsy. For lunch we went to the deli in East Meadow and had sandwiches and then we stopped in Marshall’s. I got a Chelsea Football Gym Sac, some new slippers and some Jelly Belly Jellybeans! When I got home I had dinner with my parent’s and then came to my house and crafted for a bit before working on the blog update again. Hopefully I will finish that today and have the new look ready to go by tomorrow!

My inspiration for my craftiness last night was this week’s Paper Players challenge. I wanted to thank Amy for making me her Headliner for the last challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #276

That’s a nice fun and simple challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a bunch of different dies to create my greeting. The Happy is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Snow Craft Die and the birthday is from the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words: Birthday Die. They are both cut out from a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper that is adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with some Stick-It. The 21 is cut out from some Adhesive Cork Sheet that I adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. My th is cut from some more of the cork using the Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies. The panel is a piece of Watermelon Wonder that is cut out with the Papertrey Ink Spiral Notebook Die, it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the greeting. I like the nice pop of black along with the subtleness of the cork against the bright notebook page and fun background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge from Joanne! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂
