Good morning! If you are seeing this post that means that my 3:30am airport run was successful and I have made it into Manhattan. One little flaw in my plan for today was that the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is today… hopefully I will miss the aftermath of it entirely. Fingers crossed! I’m not really a huge fan of all of the drunk people wandering from bar to bar in the city. When I worked in Manhattan I used to dread when St. Patrick’s Day fell on a weekday. I’m not a huge drinker and I’m definitely not a fan of public intoxication and all of the humiliation that goes along with it. I am wishing now that I was on that plane to Mexico with my friend Kim!

Enough of that now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary. The ladies have provided us with a nice simple sketch…

The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock and I used a piece of paper from the Parker’s Patters Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The middle panel is created using the Scallop Trim Border and Scallop Trim Corner Punches. The are a ton of tutorials on the web showing how to get it to go around the square perfectly. I used the one on Gretchen Barron’s site, I think she did a great job explaining it! I used Crumb Cake to make mine and the greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy on Whisper White. The flagged piece is also from the Parker’s Patterns DSP, I think the patterns in the paper are called Ikat. On the left side I used one of the Silver Basic Designer Buttons backed with a piece of Early Espresso that I punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the Parker’s Patterns DSP, it has a nice masculine feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s challenge. Woo hoo! It’s FRIDAY!! I am so happy that this week is over, it seemed much longer than any week in recent history. Work was really busy and will be for a while, can’t wait for that to stop too. How are you all doing today? Well, it snowed here last night and we got about 3 inches. On a positive note it’s supposed to be in the 50’s over the weekend, crazy weather but I’ll take it!

For today’s post I have my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. This week the dynamic duo have given us a color challenge…

I have to say that these are some of my favorite colors, especially Summer Starfruit. 🙂 My inspiration for today’s card came from Pinterest. The base of my card is Summer Starfruit Card Stock. I took a piece of Very Vanilla used my Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Marker and the Color Spritzer Tool (that I forget I have even though it was one of the first tools that I got from Stampin’ Up!) to make a nice subtle background for my card. The large flagged piece is Raspberry Ripple. I used the Borders Scoring Plate with my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the zig zag pattern on it and flagged the bottom. Some SNAIL adheres it to the card. Next up is a piece of Primrose Petals that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and cut in half. The greeting is from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla. I spritzed it too and put a thin strip of Primrose Petals across the top before I flagged the bottom. Behind it is a piece of Summer Starfruit that is again flagged. I used one of the Designer Builder Brads on the top. For the center image I stamped the banner image from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit, punched it out with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and adhered it with some Multipurpose Glue before I adhered the epoxy dome to it. The whole piece is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity of the card and you know I love some flags! Woo hoo… we made it!! It’s Friday!! I know, I get way too excited about Friday! But I loves me some Friday!! Today is also pretty awesome because it’s my Dad’s birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!! He is by far the most amazing man I have ever met. He helps out everyone and is just awesome. I’m very lucky to have the parents that I have. Let’s see… what else… oh, weather! LOL! It was overcast yesterday but didn’t really rain as much it spit all day on and off. We are supposed to get some peeks of sun today. Even Mother Nature is happy it’s Friday!

Now on to today’s post which is for the ladies over at Create with Connie and Mary. This week we have a sketch…

Hmm… I seem to think I have seen postage stamp shapes somewhere else recently… love them! I opted to turn the sketch sideways too. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the base I used some Sticky Strip to adhere the Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon around the back and tied a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon on it. The stamped images are all from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. I punched them out with the Petite Curly Label Punch that is in Sale-A-Bration now but will be in the new Annual Catalog too! Each of the stamped images are backed with Calypso Coral or Island Indigo that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them on the card. I love the Ciao, Baby! Stamps and the Petite Curly Label Punch. The fact that you can get it for free now is pretty awesome too! I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge card fort this week. Happy Friday to you all! I’m always happy on Friday! It is still bitterly cold here and windy. It’s supposed to rain and possibly snow a little over the weekend, mostly on Saturday. It sounds to me like that will make it a perfect crafty day! Who doesn’t like a rainy day to just sit inside and create?! What are you all up to this weekend?

Since it’s Friday that means it’s Create with Connie and Mary day! This week the talented ladies have given us a color challenge…

I was a little puzzled when I first saw it. I thought flowers possibly and then I thought that one of my favorite sets might work well with them. I started off with a base of Daffodil Delight Card Stock. For the main panel I masked off the middle with a piece of printer paper and stamped the images from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set in Melon Mambo and Basic Gray. I removed the mask and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the greeting from the Vintage Verses Stamp Set that is part of Sale-A-Bration in Basic Gray. Two thin strips of Melon Mambo are adhered with 2-Way Glue along the top and bottom of the middle of the panel. I adhered some Basic Gray behind it and then adhered it to the base. For a little finishing touch I stamped another feather in Daffodil Delight, cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the Fine Feather Stamp Set and the colors work pretty well with it I think! I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary color challenge card for this week. Good morning and happy Friday! Did you all have a nice Valentine’s Day? Mine was pretty good. I stopped by my friend Sandy’s and then went over and spent some time with the lovely Kim, Heather, Izzy and Savannah! Izzy said my name last and it was so cute. She is just way too adorable, if you whisper something to her she whispers it back.

Today I have my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card for you. This week we have a sketch…

NIce and simple! While I was rifling through my supplies I came across an embossing folder that I haven’t used in ages so I thought this would be a good card for it. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip with the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the left side. The right side has a piece of paper from the Tea Time Designer Series Paper Pack. The pattern in the paper matches the pattern in the stamp. I adhered a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back with some Sticky Strip before I mounted it to the card. The stamped image is the Thinking of You Wood Mount Stamp. I stamped it twice, once in Chocolate Chip and again in Raspberry Ripple. The Raspberry Ripple piece is cut out with some Sizzix Circle Framelits and mounted to the Chocolate Chip piece, that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies, and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. An In Color Dahlia finishes off the card. I like the colors together and the fact that the patterns in the paper and stamp match is pretty neat. Happy Friday everyone! Did you all enjoy the Stylin’ Stampin’ Blog Tour yesterday? I liked doing some cards with fabric, it was a nice change of pace. What is on for the weekend? We are supposed to get up tp 18 inches of snow here tomorrow night so it looks like if that’s true I’ll be crafting a lot this weekend and I have no problem with that at all! I’m hoping that they are wrong because we all know how I feel about snow!

Today I have my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card for you. This week we have an In-Color challenge…

I was feeling something super clean and simple so this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White and drew a line up on the left side 1″ in to help me line up the stamp from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set that I inked up in Calypso Coral. I used a Hi-Polymer Eraser to erase the line when I was done. They are great because they leave no trace behind at all. If you don’t have one you really should get one! The greetings are from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade. I used the Petite Curly Label Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super clean and simple. Woo hoo… it’s Friday! The end of another work week and the start of the glorious weekend! Do you all have some good stuff planned for this weekend? I’m off to Manhattan on Saturday morning and then I plan to have a relaxing day on Sunday. There is always so much to do and just not enough time to do it all. If I could give up sleep I gladly would! I could get so much more done!

Today’s post is for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary. This week we have a sketch challenge from the ladies…

A nice clean layout with some great possibilities. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Midnight Muse with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL I used some Sticky Strip on the ends of the Pool Party ribbon from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack to hold it in place. The panels are Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and are cut out with the Scallop Rectangle Clearlit. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut 1/3 off of each one and adhered them to the background with SNAIL. The fun little whale is form the Oh, Whale! Stamp Set and is stamped in Midnight Muse and cut out with the Happy Whale Clearlit. I mounted him to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and used the same to adhere the greeting that is from the same stamp set and is stamped in Pool Party. I punched it out with the Word Window punch, it fits just perfectly! I really like the Pool Party and Midnight Muse together and the whale really is cute. T G I F! Thank god it’s FRIDAY! I am so ready for this week to done! It is still freezing here, the overnight low was 12 degrees and tomorrow they are saying a chance of snow. I’m still hoping they are wrong! I believe that snow should be reserved for ski resorts not metropolitan areas! I had my SU! meeting last night and it was fun as always. I love seeing everyone and getting the swaps which were really neat! I’ll post my swap card soon and the ones that I got too! Are we ready for the weekend?? I sure am!

Friday also means that it’s time for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the ladies have given us a color challenge…

Funnily enough when I first looked at the colors I envisioned holiday, must be the cold weather! A second glance and some advice from a friend helped me think flowers. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink Card Stock. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla and I stamped the greeting from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and the stem in Lucky Limeade. The flower is one of the new single stamps called Boutique Blossom. I stamped it in Raspberry Ripple and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The butterflies are from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set and are also stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch to punch them out. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them and the flower to the card. I like the simplicity and the large flower is great. Woo hoo! It’s Friday! I mentioned yesterday that I was going into the city after work and that it would be a long day and it was. I managed to get to the city by 6:15 and go to my appointments and be home by 11:15, as a bonus I stayed awake on the train. It’s a balmy 26 degrees here this morning and that is way too cold for me! We are supposed to have a little bit of a cold spell for a while but hopefully it won’t last long! What are all of you up to for the weekend? I’m out to dinner with my friends Anthony and Danielle tonight then off to Manhattan tomorrow morning again. We have a little Control Freaks Blog hop coming up tomorrow evening too! 🙂

My post today is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. First I want to thank the lovely ladies for choosing me as one for the top three picks for last week’s challenge. The base for my card starts off with a piece of Tangerine Tango Card Stock with a piece Whisper White on top. I used a piece of Floral District Designer Series Paper in the middle for the background. Before I adhered the panel to the base I used some Sticky Strip to hold a piece of Lucky Limeade 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon vertically on the right side. The panel in the middle is stamped with an image from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade. The main image is from the Patterned Occasions Stamp Set** and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch to punch it out and adhered it to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little coordinating flowers are from the Itty Bitty Bits Stamp Set and are also stamped in Tangerine Tango. I punched them out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and some Stampin’ Dimensional pieces hold them in place. Finally, some Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine is used to hold on one of the buttons from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack**. I like the way the Floral District DSP coordinates with the stamped images. I hope that you like my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card for this week. Morning all! Ahh… Saturday how I love thee! I’m off to the city this morning to visit my friend Kim. We are going to the movies later to see the Life of Pi and after that maybe we’ll get some Korean food, yum! What are you all up to today? It’s supposed to be in the 50’s here and tomorrow we are supposed to get up to the 60’s! Now that’s more like it! I’m sure that it will be short lived but appreciated none the less.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For this week’s challenge they have given us a color challenge…

A very different color combinations for me. I do love Midnight Muse and I wanted to do something a little different. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the leaves from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set** in Midnight Muse down the right side of the base. The background and the Pink Pirouette rounded squares are both embossed with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. The larger rounded squares under the Pink Pirouette ones are Midnight Muse. I rounded the corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and the Pink ones are rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. The “petals are adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I used the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set stamped in Midnight Muse and rounded all of the corners of it with the 3/16” Corner Rounder. I really like the retro modern feel of the card and I enjoyed the colors together more than I thought I would. I hope you like my Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card for this week.
