CCMC 223 Sketch

Good morning! It’s Thursday and we know what that means… tomorrow is Friday! I’m feeling a little better than I have, hopefully that means I’m nearing the end of the cold. I have a meeting out east tonight and a busy weekend ahead of me. I hope that the cold is almost over!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I decided that I wanted to try something a little different. In the latest issue of the Demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success, they stamped on a Window Sheet with White Staz-On so I decided I would give that a try with a little twist. The base of my card is Naturals White Card Stock. I cut a smaller piece of the same card stock and used some Twitterpated Designer Series Paper for the diagonal strip and some Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the top of that. The greeting is stamped in Midnight Muse and is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set. A Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper in the center completes that layer. The window that I created to the left is Midnight Muse. The base layer is stamped with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad using the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set. I stamped images from the same set in White Staz-On on a piece of Window Sheet and cut out a frame of Midnight Muse to go over the top. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the framed piece. I love the way the snowflakes look stamped in the Illuminate Glimmer and White Staz-On layered on top of one another. You can see the effect a little better in the second picture. I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. Be sure to hop on over and check out the other Design Team’s cards and post one of your own for us to see. Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

CCMC 221 and Guest Designer!

A very good morning to you all! I have some exciting news to share with you today. I will be a guest designer on Create with Connie and Mary for the months of October and November!! I’m so happy to be a part of such a talented team for the next two months! I have been a fan of theirs since I started with Stampin’ Up! last year. What an honor! For my first week with the talented ladies we have a sketch…

I love the simplicity of it and I’m a big fan of flags! I wanted to keep the card clean and simple so I thought the best stamp to showcase would be the Heart of Christmas. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flags are created from strips of Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the Heart of Christmas Stamp in Lucky Limeade and again in Early Espresso. I cut out the center of the sentiment on the Early Espresso piece and mounted it to the Lucky Limeade piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s backed by a piece of Real Red and a piece of Early Espresso before being adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Heart of Christmas stamp is definitely one of my favorites out of the new Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card this week. Head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and post your card for this week’s challenge, I look forward to seeing what you do with the sketch! Thank you so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Hello and a good Saturday morning to you. Today is the big day, my brother’s wedding. I did the invitations and I’m officiating the ceremony today. It should be a lot of fun, a lot of may family is over from England. Wish me luck! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep the card very clean and simple but still fun. The base of the card is More Mustard Card Stock. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper for the background. The strip of Tangerine Tango across the lower half is stamped with spooky form the Wicked Cool Stamp Set in Basic Black. I stamped the cauldron from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set in Basic Black and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. The spider web and treats for boo are from the Mixed Medley (Host(ess)) Stamp Set from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The web is stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The boo is stamped in Tangerine Tango and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the plaid of the Howlstooh & Scaringbone DSP and the font of the spooky! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in with me today and I hope your day is a great one!

Happy Friday everyone! I’m extra happy today because I took the day off from work! My cousin and I are going to spend the day together. We are going to do some shopping and have some lunch, it will be a great day! This week I really loves me some Friday!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween then I decided instead to go with a sort of longing for spring look. The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. The stamped images are all from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango. I used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut them all out in different sizes. I then mounted them all to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then to a piece of Lucky Limeade that I also cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Then I used the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on it before adhering it to the card with some SNAIL. The greeting is from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut out another piece of Lucky Limeade and cut off the top and bottom of the piece. The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool is used to pierce the sides and then both pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I added a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper punched out with the 3/8″ Circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered it to the card with some Mini Glue Dots in the center of the “flower”. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge. Thanks so much for checking in and have a great day! 😉

Happy Friday everyone! That was one of the better weeks, mainly because if the lack of working Monday! I was in Manhattan last night seeing some friends and avoiding Fashions Night Out. I also forgot that Thursday is happy hour night, who doesn’t love a train full of drunk people! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week have a sketch challenge…

Once again, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what stamp I was going to use! I started with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. I created a mask and stamped the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso on the card. The next layer consists of a piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to cut the bottom end. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is slid through a Round Designer Ribbon Slide and adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the stamped image I used the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and stamped it in Island Indigo and again in Cherry Cobbler. I trimmed out the “Christmas” and “that puts christmas in the air” from the Cherry Cobbler image and flagged the ends of the latter. I mounted the cutout pieces to the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. It’s backed by some Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I used three Metallic 3/16″ Designer Brads across the top right of the panel. I have to say that Heart of Christmas is my favorite wood mount stamp. I think I like the font, I’m a bit of a font junkie. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and keep leaving your comments, I love reading them! Have a crafty kind of day! 🙂

Good morning and welcome to day one of our three day weekend! It was a good day yesterday because we got out of work at 3:00. To make the day even better my very talented friend and daughter’s mom gave an early birthday present…

A beautiful bracelet! It’s made with sterling silver beads and hammered button closure with black leather cord. I love it! You can visit her Etsy shop and see all of the beautiful creations by clicking here. I think that she is quite talented! 🙂

Now on to today’s post, it’s for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween and then I thought no, they would be great for a non-tradiotional holiday card. We all know how I like non-tradiotional holiday colors. I got the idea for the card from the Demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of the card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for the circles on the lower right. I stamped the greeting from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry and then markered the “on earth” in Lucky Limeade and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the whole thing to the card base. The stamped images are form the Merry Minis Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade. I used the coordinating Merry Mini’s Punch Pack to punch them out and they are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity of the card and originally I was going to use Crumb Cake for the background but decided to go with one of my more neglected colors, Sahara Sand, instead. I think it worked out quite well. I hope you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card, let me know what you think by leaving a comment. Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for visiting!

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you! I have a friend’s wedding to go to tonight and tomorrow I have lots of cards to make! I do plan to get outside for a little while because it’s supposed to be nice this weekend. What are all of you up to this weekend? Hopefully you have some good plans and are going to squeeze in some crafting time too!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch to work with…

Seeing as I was playing with Halloween stuff yesterday it made it into today’s card too. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used three different patterns of paper from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The rosette is also made from the same DSP using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I used a piece of Tangerine Tango punched with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and a piece of Basic Gray punched with the 1/2″ Circle punch for the middle and it is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The cute little witch is from the Googly Ghouls Stamp Set and she is stamped in Basic Black ink. I used my Paper SNips to cut her out and mounted her to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Googlies finish her off. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Black and adhered to the rosette with Multi-Purpose Glue. I’m really having a lot of fun with the Halloween items from the Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Card and that you got some inspiration for some Halloween fun! Thank you very much for checking in and have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone! I loves me some Friday! A friend of mine had back surgery yesterday so I’m off to the city tonight to pay him a visit. I have a busy weekend ahead of me too. My future Sister-in-law’s Bridal Shower is Saturday and I have another party on Sunday. I also have a ton of crafting to get done, but that’s the best part! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

Two new In-Colors and a good old standard. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I added a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. It’s a great example of how holiday paper can be used for other things too. The main panel is a piece of Very Vanilla that I paper-pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool and then flagged the bottom. I stamped the stems from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Gumball Green and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The jar, also from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set is stamped in Midnight Muse on Vellum Card Stock and cut out with the Cannery Framelits Dies. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the ink drying on the Vellum. The two daisies are created using the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. I punched four pieces out of Daffodil Delight and then used my Paper Snips to cut down each scallop leaving about 3/8″ in the middle. I adhered two together with Mini Glue Dots and adhered a Brights Collection Designer Button in the middle with another Mini Glue Dot. The leaves are cut out using the 1″ Circle Punch and are adhered with more Mini Glue Dots. I fanned up the petals and attached them to the card. The greeting is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and I stamped it twice, once in Midnight Muse and the other in Gumball Green. I cut them out with the Window Frames Framelits Dies and snipped off the top and bottom of the Midnight Muse one. They are adhered to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and also to the card. Don’t forget that the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and the Cannery Framelits Dies and the Friendship Preserves and the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies are both available as bundles with a 15% savings. I love the color combination and the use of Vellum for the jar. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and if you have any questions let me know. Have a great day! 🙂

Good morning and happy Friday! It’s supposed to rain here today and most of the day tomorrow but it’s supposed to be nice on Sunday. I guess Saturday will be a good day to stay in and craft! Yeah! A quick thank you to all of you that read my blog each day. I appreciate all of your wonderful comments and you make me strive to be more creative! Thanks!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For this week’s challenge they have given us this sketch…

I wanted to finally make a Christmas card that uses traditional colors and use some new things that I have acquired from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and the new Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stamp Pad. The Illuminate Pad gives a nice subtle silver image and shows up when you tilt the card in the light. The three pieces of Designer Series Paper are from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. It contains 40 sheets that are 6 1/2 x 4 1/2, perfect for cards! I used my favorite new tool the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool on the piece of Lucky Limeade to the left. Then I wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine around it twice and used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to hold the Baker’s Twine and mount it to the card. For the main image I used the 1 3/4″Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Paper-Pierced them and stamped the mitten from the Make A Mitten Stamp Set in Crumb Cake and Lucky Limeade, then punched it out with the Mitten Builder Punch and added a few dots of Silver Sparkle Dazzling Detals. All of the elements are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I used my trusty Paper Snips to fussy cut it and then used pieces of Stampin’ DImensionals to adhere it to the card. I’m liking the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stamp Pad and the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Thank you so much for visiting and have an awesome Friday! 🙂

CCMC 212 Muted Christmas

Hello peeps and happy Friday to you all! I love Friday, it’s such a great day! I have lots to get accomplished this weekend and I’m hosting card class this monday so I have to come up with some neat projects over the weekend and bring some semblance of order to my house! Like I said, lots to do!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the ladies have given us a color challenge…

Like I said the other day I’m really into the non-tradiotional holiday colors. I am determined to use all kind of unusual combinations this year. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I adhered it to the card base with some SNAIL. The middle group starts with a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and my Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. The center stamped images are from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red and Basic Black. I punched the frame out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered it and the window to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered under the window with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Real Red. I used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make the ticket corners on both the Whisper White and Real Red and then mounted it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the color combination and the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing folder paired with the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set makes Holiday cards simple and elegant! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Have an awesome day! 🙂
