Happy Wednesday everyone! I love Wednesday’s because it means we are halfway through the week! It was rainy and damp here all day except for 10 minutes when the sun peeked out and it felt like summer. It’s nice and sunny this morning, hopefully this is just a little taste of things to come! Today’s card is for a the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. I haven’t done this one before and I got my card in just in time! This weeks challenge is a color challenge and they have given us these colors to work with…
I love these colors! Especially Poppy Parade, one of the retiring In-Colors. I started with a base of Pool Party cut to 7″ x 5″ and scored it at 3 1/2″ to make it a note card size. The background of the card is a piece of Designer Series Paper from the 6 x 6 In-Color Stack that is still available on the clearance rack. The image/greeting is from the Layered Labels Stamp Set* and is stamped twice, once in Pool Party and again in Poppy Parade. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies* to cut out the image and then used the Large Oval Punch to punch to punch out the greeting from the Poppy Parade image. The basic Black Card Stock was also cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies* and then embossed using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped images are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ribbon is 1/4″ Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon and is Retired.
