Pearlescent Pineapple – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Hello again! I’m back with post number two for today! It’s time for my Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog. Be sure and stop by there too!

The card that I created uses the Concord & 9th Pineapple Perfection Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. To color in the image I used my FineTec Pearl Watercolors and an Aquawash Brush. After it dried I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out along with the greeting that is heat embossed onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The pineapple and greeting are adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with another piece of White Gold Metallic that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers 3D Woven Embossing Folder. I do love the Pearl Watercolors, so nice and subtle. The pictures doesn’t do them justice, they look so much better in real life!

I hope that you like the card for my September Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! Don’t forget that you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook! We are getting ready to start our next challenge on September 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 284

Happy Friday peeps! Thankfully it only rained in the morning and the sun came out for the rest of the afternoon! The first day of Card Class went well and I’m looking forward to day two! I was on my own for dinner again last night, the Parent’s were watching Daniel and Tristan. I can see where I fall on the importance list! LOL! My evening was spent watching TV again to distract my little brain! Good times! 😀

Today’s card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I haven’t watercolored in a while and I have these new to me Pearl Watercolors from FineTec, I needed to give them a try! The flowers are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto some Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. They are then colored in with the FineTec Pearl Watercolors and my Aquawash Brush. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I used the Altenew Happy Die to cut out a piece of Kraft and two pieces of thin chipboard (left over packaging!), some Multi-Matte Medium adheres them to each other. While I waited for them to dry I created my card base with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with another piece of Kraft and adhered a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock down the center. The happy is then smooshed into my Versa-Mark Pad and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder, I did it twice to give it a really nice shine. To finish the card I adhered the flowers and happy to the card with 3M Foam Tape and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins. I really like the FineTec Pearl Watercolors, they have a nice sparkle to them, it looks so much better in person! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for spending a little of your Friday with me! Enjoy the rest of the day! 🙂

Paper Players 304

Ahh… Thursday! What a nice day I had yesterday! The weather was perfect, in the low 80’s, the top was definitely down in the car! Renee and I had a fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. We both got a lot accomplished and I feel a little bit more caught up! When I got home I had my dinner and then ran out and got gas in the car. When I got back to my house I had another conference call with my friend Greg. I love talking to him, such a great person! As I retreated to the Stampin’ Gallery my friend Sue called and I was on the phone with her for the rest of the evening. We got all caught up! Today I have my Ink Blended Backgrounds Class at the store! I’m looking forward to that!

The Paper Players have a fun watercolor challenge this week…

Paper Players #304

I have been wanting to use my Finetec Watercolors again, perfect challenge! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I heat embossed all of my images and greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. They are all colored in with the Finetec Metallic Watercolors. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive adheres the panel to the card, it’s my favorite adhesive to use, especially when you are mounting a watercolored or heat embossed piece that has a little warping. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Wood Veneer Stars to finish the card. I do love those Fintec Watercolors, they have such great coverage and are perfect for using on dark cardstock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Player Challenge! Thank you for stopping by the blog today! I wish you all a happy Thursday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 442

What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! I hope that you like my Design Team card of this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the team has to inspire you! Don’t forget to add your creation to the gallery! Thank you for beginning your week with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 33 – Colors!

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday! It was a lovely warm day here yesterday, it got up into the 50’s! That I can definitely get use to! I’m sure that it won’t last for long so I will relish it while I can! I had a relatively productive morning. I got to speak to my Aunt Shirley in England on FaceTime for a bit and then crafted with Andrea over FaceTime. I use FaceTime a lot! Taylor came by with Kiera in the afternoon and we all had dinner at my parent’s. My shows were on last night, the X-Files and Lucifer and both were great! This morning Andrew is coming by and we are going to take Sandy to the airport and then work on researching some stuff. I haven’t seen him in ages so it will be good to spend some time together!

It’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a timely color combo for you…

SIP Challenge 33 - Colors 800

I love the colors and wanted to do a little watercoloring! I have had this idea in my head for a while so I thought that it was time to get it out! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card taped down with Blue Painter’s Tape to a board for my “canvas”. I laid down a heart die and watercolored the heart staying about 1/4″ inside the die. For the heart I mixed some Royal Langnickel Crimson Red with some White and dried it with my Heat Tool. I added some more white on top and then used Prussian Blue mixed with White to paint around the heart. I dried that with my Heat Tool too. The gold hearts are painted freehand using Fintec Pharaonen Gold. I trimmed down the panel and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The hello is cut from Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and the card using Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The love is from the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink. I love the way the blue really makes the red heart pop and those Finetec Watercolors are amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Take a quick click over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with and share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have a thoroughly wonderful Tuesday! 🙂
