Paper Players 249

Wednesday and I’m off from work today! Yippee! My post is also extra early because I’m going to retrieve Mr. Trent from the airport! He lands at 6:34, can’t wait to see him! Yesterday it tried to rain all day and was finally successful around 3:00. It only rained for a bit and then some more around 5:30 and then the sun finally came out. I had a nice evening. Daniel was at my parent’s so I got to spend some time with him. Here he is in all of his cuteness!

Daniel Thomas Hat

With his little Thomas hat on and that adorable little smile! Love that little boy! The rest of the evening was spent crafting and straightening up. Taylor and I also ran to Michaels to get a few things for class on Thursday and Friday. Another pretty good day!

My post for today is for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy…

Paper Players #249

Strangely enough this card started out with the two straight pins! The card base is Neenah Solar White Card Stock that I cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. For the large heart I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Pool Party and then cut a negative with one of the smaller ones. The flower and border are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set, the border is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on the DSP and the flowers in Pool Party on the heart. The hearts is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. Next up is the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die that is cut from Island Indigo and adhered to the card with two thin strips of Foam Tape in the middle. I used the Hearts Framelits again to cut out a piece of red felt and adhered that to the filmstrip with Multi-Purpose Glue. My thanks is from the Greetings Thinlits and is cut from Real Red and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder then adhered with more Multi-Purpose Glue. Two hearts are punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from Real Red and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and then some Glossy Accents over that to give them some nice sparkle and shine. Three Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects. Finally, the two straight pins that started it all are inserted into the felt heart. A fun eclectic collage card! My favorite pieces are the two punched hearts! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I always appreciate it. Have a amazingly awesome Wednesday! 🙂

Fab Friday 66

Oh yes, it’s my favorite day of the week as you know! Yesterday was hot and muggy here, we made it up to 90, not that I’m complaining, better than snow any day! My friend Robin and I had Panera for lunch, one of my faves! After dinner I came home and Skyped with Andrea and worked on my card for today. My friend Sue stopped by around 7:45 and we chatted and I showed her some of my recent projects and she made a list of things that she wanted to get! It really would be nice if I got commission on the other stuff that I use! LOL! Tonight I have a lot of projects to get through and this weekend is going to be a busy one. I have to make the cards for next week’s card class at Scrap-A-Latte but I get to go and see Renee so that’s always good! What’s on for you this weekend?

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our sketch challenge…

Fab Fri 66 6-12-2015

I had the idea in my head for this card from the first time that I saw the sketch, I just had to wait for my new goodies to arrive before I could make it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack to the base and on the right side is a piece of Washi Tape from Little B. The frame is from a pack from Heidi Swapp and is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. My dragonfly and greeting are from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set. The dragonfly is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then again in Versa-Mark on Vellum. I sprinkled some Gold Stampin’ Glitter on and then covered it in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it. The body and wings are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered together with a Bling Glue Dot. Some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape hold him to the card. The friend is heat embossed in Gold and Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits. A little SNAIL on the ends hold it to the frame. Finally, a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Charcoal Sequins finish the card. I love the dragonfly, especially with the vellum wings! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Be sure and visit the blog to see the rest of the design team’s projects and enter your card in the gallery too! Thank you for spending a little of your Friday with me, have fabulous day! 🙂

SUO Challenges 124

Made it thorough Monday! Yay! Thanks for all of the well wishes on the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! I can’t wait to see the cards appear in the gallery! We had some issues with the Inlinkz yesterday but Eva helped me get that straightened out! It was a nice day here, it started off a little cloudy and rained for a short time but then the sun came out. Taylor helped me move some stuff around in the apartment last night and I Skyped with Andrea and Eva. Today I have a training to host in the morning and then I’m off to Manhattan this evening to see my friend Isabella! It’s been way too long since I have been into the city!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Patriotic Challenge. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Striped Scallop Thinlits to cut out a piece of Real Red and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. My star is a piece of Night of Navy that I cut out with the Stars Framelits and then used the Simply Scored to make it easy to fold into the 3D Star. It too is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. The greeting is from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and is heat embossed with a mix of Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Gold Stampin’ Glitter on a piece of Vellum. I put some SNAIL on the left and tucked it under the star. Clearly this isn’t a card that you would mail but I do love that 3D Star!! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Patriotic Challenge. Stop by the blog and see the rest of the design team’s projects and show us what you come up with by entering yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Tuesday! 🙂

Welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper!!!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a rough start yesterday, lesson learned, but the rest of the day was nice. I went over and hung out with Brain and Kim for a bit and then came home and worked on some projects. I had a lot to get done this weekend in preparation for today’s announcement! I have been toying with the idea of starting my own challenge blog. I love playing along with all of the challenges that I do each week and seeing all of the amazing cards and projects that are submitted. I had fun being the co-captain on Can You Case It with my friend Eva. Since I already had a talented bunch of people Eva and I decided that I could take some of my team and move forward with my little project. So today marks the very first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

SIP Header

I’m excited to be able to do this and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the Design Team! We have added a few new faces and there are some that you know from CYCI. We thought that we would start things off with a nice easy challenge, Getting to Know You! Make a card using your favorite Stamps, Ink and Paper! Whatever style you like! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! To make sure that there is enough time for everyone to participate this challenge will run for two weeks! Some of our Design Team is also giving away blog candy so make sure and go to the SIP Challenge Site and visit the other designers! We are also giving you the ability to vote for your favorites! Make sure that you cast your vote and the person with the most votes at the end of the challenge will be featured as our Audience Pick!

So without further ado here is the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Any Challenge 1

I actually made a few cards for this but when I thought about what kind of card is my favorite I had to go with a college card! This one was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two layers, one of Neenah 80lb and one of Pink Pirouette, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper Background Stamp with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and cut out with a die from DiesByDave. I adhered some of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me with Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. The heart is a piece of red felt from Michaels and is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and adhered with Glue Dots. For the flowers I used some Pink Pirouette and Watermelon Wonder with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Dies, they are also adhered with Glue Dots. One of the Subtles Collection Designer Buttons has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied in a bow and it’s adhered with another Glue Dot. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects. The stamped greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The you is a piece of Pink Pirouette cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff! LOL! I love the roses and the addition of the felt to the card, the wreath, well you know how I feel about that! So there is my first card for the NEW Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog! I really hope that you enjoyed it and that you will go over and see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you! We would love to see one of your creations in the gallery too! Thank you so much for coming by to see me and making my days brighter with your comments and visits! Have an absolutely amazing Monday my friends! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 189

It was a lovely day yesterday, nice and sunny and a bit warmer than it has been. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents. It’s hard to believe but he gets cuter every time that I see him. We had dinner and then Daniel and I played ball on the front porch. He was throwing it over the railing and I was catching it. Then he decided that it would be fun to give me a kiss through each of the banisters! He was so proud of himself! Like I said he just keeps getting cuter! Sandy also stopped by for a bit and then I headed over to Heather’s for Whiskey and Wine night! Always good to have some alone time with Heather!

So… today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 189

I need to add some masculine cards to my stash so I had some fun with the By the Tide Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the front is Soft Sky and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece for my shaker. I used Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to create the shiny bubbles. Some Fun Foam with a matching circle cut out is adhered to the back with SNAIL. I filled the shaker with some seed beads and covered the back with a piece of Vellum and then adhered the panel to the card. My fish is from the By the Tide Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with a eyeshadow applicator using Island Indigo, Garden Green and Calypso Coral Ink. I used a die to cut out the fish and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card and coated the fish in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter for a little sparkle! I love the look of the Transparent Texture Paste and the neat seed beads! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting me today! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

NW Card JK

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

NW Watercolor Card

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

PCCCS147 DY Sketch 6-03-2015

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams projects! I also hope that you enjoyed the cards from Nicole and that you check out her blog too! Thank you so much for sharing in my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! Oh, don’t forget that today is the first day that you can order from the NEW 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!! You can also order from the 2014-2015 and Occasions Catalogs today too! So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simply amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Well,  it’s been a few hours since my last post! LOL! I had the Control Freaks Blog Tour last night featuring products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. If you missed it and would like to see the cards and take the complete tour click HERE! Yesterday was gloomy and rainy until about 2:00pm when the sun came out, a nice way to finish the day! Work was loads of fun, I had some people come in to have their signatures captured and of course the equipment wasn’t working so I had to figure out how to fix that, no surprises there! I came home and had dinner and then realized that I had the aforementioned Blog Tour and I had no projects so into the Stampin’ Galley I went and made my cards and then typed the post with 15 minutes to spare! Ahh… pressure! Anyway, sometimes it’s the best way to work!

So for today, since it’s Wednesday, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS145 DT Sketch 5-20-2015

When I sat down with this sketch the other day I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Love that! The card base is Whisper White and measures 5″ x 5″. The background is a piece of the NEW Watermelon Wonder Card Stock with a piece of Whisper White on top of that. Across the bottom is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered some Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back and made a bow with it too. All of the images and greeting are from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set. The squiggly flower is heat embossed on Crushed Curry with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. The LOVE is heat embossed in the same on Vellum and both the circle and the vellum are tucked behind the DSP. Another sliver from the DSP is adhered with Foam Tape on top of the ribbon. My greeting is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and also adhered with some Foam Tape. I used a “Vintage” Paper Clip clipped to the vellum and one of the hearts from the set stamped in Watermelon Wonder and punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen is brushed over it for some sparkle. Finally three enamel dots are adhered in the upper left. I really am loving that DSP aren’t I?! LOL! I t really does have some cool patterns in it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Make sure that you stop by the blog and see the rest of the design team’s projects! Thanks very much for your visit today! Enjoy your Wednesday my friends! 🙂

Control Freaks May Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is goodies from the NEW 2015-2016 Annual Catalog! It’s always nice to little sneak peek of some of the cool new products that Stampin’ Up! has in store for don’t you think?! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever and crafty Debbie Henderson’s blog, she always has great projects doesn’t she?! Today, I have two cards, both using some new Designer Series Paper and a new Stamp Set for the upcoming 2015-2016 Annual Catalog!

First up is a simple card that would be great for using up some scraps of DSP. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out pieces from the left side. I also cut out pieces of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack with to same size circle. After I cut the first one I put the DSP back in the negative space and cut the rest out working from top to bottom. They were held in place with some Post-It Tape and then I put some SNAIL on another piece of Whisper White the same size and adhered the them together. A whole bunch of Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the panel to the card. My greeting is a piece of Cucumber Crush cut out with the Hello You Thinlits. I also cut out a piece of Whisper White and adhered them together. They are then coated with Versa-Mark and dipped in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated to give it that shiny look that I love so much! A little Multi-Purpose Glue holds it in place. I love the simplicity of the card, you can use it for so many different occasions with just a quick greeting change!

CF May Blog Tour - Card 2-WM

CF May Blog Tour - Card 2 Close-WM

My second card that I have for you uses one of my favorite techniques, watercoloring with ink! The base for this card is also Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack is adhered to the base on an angle. The image is from the NEW Best Thoughts Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Watercolor Paper with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used a paint brush, water and some Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush Ink to color in the image. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in the NEW Tempting Taupe Ink. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and a few sequins from the “Vintage” Frosted Sequins Pack are adhered with Crystal Effects randomly around the flower. Again, I love the simplicity of the card and the soft look of the watercoloring!

Can You Case It #70

Happy Sunday! I do so enjoy my weekends! I had a nice productive morning yesterday, got lots of projects finished. Taylor came over and finished watching the rest of her Ink Masters show, I’m easily distracted by the TV but managed to stay focused! LOL! Last night a bunch of friends went out to celebrate our friend Neal’s birthday. We went to a restaurant in Huntington called XO. The food was really good and we had a great time! There was even some chocolate fondue for dessert! My favorite thing to dip were the little Rice Krispies Treats! When I got home Taylor was here watching another show called Freak Show. I question her taste in TV sometimes! LOL! All in all a really good day! How is your weekend so far?!

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Can You Case It challenge. This time around it’s a Designer’s Choice – May Flowers…

CYCI #70

I wanted something really clean and simple. I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest. My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape. My background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped my favorite wreath from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in the NEW Cucumber Crush Ink and used my Paper Snips to cut it out. It’s mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Garden Party Stamp Set and are stamped in the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. I also used my Paper Snips to cut them out. The greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I coated both the flowers and the greeting in Versa-Mark and then dipped them in Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and heated them with the Heat Tool to give them that super shiny look! They are all adhered to the wreath with SNAIL. A nice simple card using some old and new favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It Designer’s Choice – May Flowers challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the projects that Eva’s team has come up with and why not make one and post it in the gallery?!?! Thanks so much for sharing in my day! Have an absolutely wonderful Sunday! 🙂
