Snowy Owl Birthday

Happy last day of 2012! I can’t believe the year is almost over, like hours away from being over! I want to take a minute to thank all of you for visiting, leaving comments and just being awesome. People from over 115 different countries have stopped by! Wow! A special thanks to Canada and Australia for so many visits! At the beginning of the year I set a goal for myself, to have a post every day. I’m extremely happy to report that I accomplished that goal! Today marks my 366 post for 2012! I also am happy to report that I have had over 100,000 visitors this past year. So, for me this has been an amazing year and I have all of you to thank!

For today’s post I have a birthday card that friends of mine asked me to make for their mom. I was told that it should have a winter theme and that she likes owls and here is what I came up with.

The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock and for the background I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The branch is form the Take Care Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with my Paper Snips. The little owl is punched out with the Owl Builder Punch from a piece of Sahara Sand and his eyes are Whisper White, Pool Party and Basic Black. His little vest is a teeny tiny sneak peek at the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper**. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount him to the card. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. A nice simple card with both of the requests added. It was good to use the Owl Punch, he was feeling a little neglected! I hope you like the birthday card as much as my friend’s mom did. Thank you for you visit and I’ll see you next year! 🙂

Sahara Burgundy Sleigh Flurry

Ahh… Monday… but it’s Christmas Eve! Are you all finished with your shopping or are you like me who will be stopping by Target later?! I got most of the last of my Christmas cards made yesterday. I still have some stuff to do but I’m hoping that I can get it finished tonight. Today’s post is a card that I sent to a friend. She sent me a lovely card so I wanted to return the favor. The base of the card is Sahara Sand and I stamped it with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. Down the right side is a piece of Bravo Burgundy, the one side is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies, and a strip of Brushed Gold Card Stock is adhered on top. The image and greetings are from the Open Sleigh Stamp Set and are all stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I cut the sleigh out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Behind it is a another piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that I cut out with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. I love the color combination and the vintage feel of the stamp set. I hope that she enjoyed the card and that you like it too. Thank you for spending a little of your time with me. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas Eve! All of your comments are the best Christmas present I could ever get! 🙂

Sentimental Indigo Ticket Wish B’day & Peek

A very good Sunday morning to you! I hope that the weekend is being good to you. I had a very nice time at my Holiday party last night, good food and fun people. Today’s post is for my friend Greg. It was his birthday a few days ago and I had a lot of fun playing with some new stuff to make his card. He reads my blog so I hope that he got the card already!

The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used the 1″ Circle punch to round to opposing corners on the card and each one of the layers. The background is Fan Fair Designer Series Paper, I love the grid pattern with the script. The main stamped image and the Celebrate is from the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set** and is stamped in Island Indigo on Very Vanilla. The greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* and is stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla. Both are backed by Island Indigo and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little something else so I stamped two of the tickets from the Take a Ticket Stamp Set in Island Indigo and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. They are adhered behind the main image with some SNAIL. Feeling Sentimental is definitely my favorite stamp set from Sale-A-Bration, I love the vintage feel and great images. Happy Birthday Kim!

It’s Saturday and I survived my lengthy day at work yesterday/this morning! I’m so tired but off to Manhattan for the day. I can do it……………. oh, sorry… nodded off there for a second! LOL! Today’s post is for my wonderful, amazing, awesome friend Kim Doi. She is a great person and I consider myself very lucky to count her amongst my friends. She had seen a card that I made a while ago and said that she liked it so I filed away in my little brain and made a similar one for her. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I used basic Gray for the 3D window frame too. Before adhering the 3D part to the base I punched out some Daffodil Delight with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and adhered it down the left and right edges of the card. The 3D frame is adhered to the card base with Sticky Strip. On the inside the frame the background is a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. All of the stamped images are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set. The elephant is stamped in Basic Gray and his hat in Raspberry Ripple. Both are cut out with Paper Snips and the hat and the elephant are adhered to each other and the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The two winner tickets are stamped in Raspberry Ripple and punched out with the Ticket Builder Duo Punch. A piece of Island Indigo Bakers Twine is strung across the top and the small tickets, stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the Ticket Builder Duo Punch, are adhered with Multipurpose Glue. The greeting is stamped in Island Indigo and the corners are punched with the 1/2″ Circle Punch for the ticket effect. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to punch around the edge before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you like the card as much as Kim did. Mitten Tulips Thanks CASE

Is it Sunday already? Wow, yesterday just flew by! I had a nice time in the city and then I went to visit my friend Sandy and we crafted for a bit. I always have fun crafting with Sandy! Today’s post is a Thank You card that I made a little while ago for my friends Danielle and Anthony. I CASE’d the card from Stampin’ Success. They have some really neat ideas in there! The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock cut to 5 1/2 x 7 and folded in half to make it note card size. I stamped the border along the bottom from the Make a Mitten Stamp Set in Gumball Green. The “tulips” are stamped from the same set in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Mitten Builder Punch. The strip of hearts is embossed with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using some Summer Starfruit. I cut thin strips of Gumball Green for the Stems and the leaves are the thumbs from the Mitten Builder Punch too. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I really like the idea of using the Mitten Builder Punch to make the tulips, so clever. Indigo Limeade Woodgrain Preserved Thanks

Hello everyone! How are we all doing this Sunday morning? It’s was beautiful here yesterday for most of the day. I had a nice day in Manhattan and went to dinner last night with my parents and my daughter. It’s very fall like and chilly here this morning. How is the weather by you today. Are you missing the summer already like I am?

Today’s post is a thank you card that I made Leigh for my bracelet that I got back on my birthday. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. A piece of Early Espresso Core’dinations Card Stock is embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and sanded with the Stampin’ Sanding System. The greeting is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. To back it, I cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade and pierced the edges using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. I used the Stampin’ Spritzer to spritz some Early Espresso Ink on it and then faux stitched the piercing with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker. A piece of the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper is adhered to the card and a piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled ribbon on top before I mounted the stamped image and backing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love paper-piercing and probably use it a little more than I should but I think it gives that subtle extra that sometimes you need. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you for visiting. Bashful Saffron Baby Banners

Good morning everyone! How are we all doing today? I’m doing well, apart from the torrential rain that we got last night. The weather has been very odd this summer. The rain we get reminds me of Florida rain! This will be my first post for the day but there will be a surprise one later so be sure and come back tonight to see! This morning’s post is a card that I made for my mum to take to a baby shower. The base of the card is Bashful Blue Card Stock. I used the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of So Saffron for the background. The image and greeting are from the Baby Prints Stamp Set and are stamped in Bashful Blue on Whisper White. I used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the corners on the Whisper White and the Bashful Blue that they are mounted to. They are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ DImensionals. The banners are made using the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies with Bashful Blue and are cut in half. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine creates the string that they “hang” from. I was happy to have an excuse to use the stamp set and hope that you enjoyed today’s card. Plum Rose Gumball Silhouettes Birthday

Good morning and happy Friday before a three day weekend! I have a very nice evening with my friend Sandy last night. We had some delicious Greek food for dinner and then we converted Wheel Mount and Wood Mount Stamps to Clear Mount. I will definitely used my “Wheel” stamps a lot more now that it will be easier to ink them up!

I wanted to take a minute to than Lesley from Freshly Made Sketches. I have an awesome new badge as I am no longer a Perfect Princess but a Perfect Prince! I love playing along with all of the lovely ladies every week and I was proud to display my badge before but am even prouder now! Thank you again so very much!

Today’s post is an ensemble that I created for a friends birthday. It consists of a card, box and initial magnet. The card starts off with a base of Rose Red Card Stock. I stamped the images from Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set in Rose Red, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Gumball Green on Whisper White. Before I mounted the stamped piece of Whisper White to the card I used Sticky Strip to adhere a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon across the middle. The greeting is from the Perfect Punches Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder, punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and mounted to a piece of Wisteria Wonder that is punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some butterflies form the Beautiful Wings Embosslit in Wisteria Wonder and Rose Red complete the card.

Next up we have the box that I created using my Simply Scored and some Rose Red and Gumball Green Card Stock. I stamped an image from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set in Perfect Plum twice across the middle. The paper bow is created using 1/2″ strips of Wisteria Wonder stamped with the happy birthday from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. I adhered a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle to the center of the bow. Another butterfly with some more Basic Jewels Rhinestones completes the box.

Finally we have the magnet. I purchased the magnet from a discount store. Some Whisper White Card Stock is stamped with another image from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set in Gumball Green. The letter N is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet and is stamped in Perfect Plum, punched out with the 1″ Square Punch and mounted to a piece of Rose Red that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch and used the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool along each side. Some more butterflies finish off the magnet. For some added interest I also stamped the tissue paper with the Summer Silhouettes Stamp set in Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder.

Baja Vanilla Suede Wedding

Hello peeps! How are you all doing on this fine Sunday? I’m doing great! I got most of what I wanted to accomplish done yesterday and I am hoping to get the rest finished today. As I mentioned I had a wedding to go to on Friday night and I thought I would share with you the card that I made for the happy couple. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. I used the Wedding Words Jumbo Wheel inked in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and cut a strip of it and flagged the end. Next to that is a piece of Baja Breeze with a piece of Very Vanilla 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) adhered to the front and I flagged the ends on both of them. Both are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The cake is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and I used VersaMark on Baja Breeze with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the image. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede that I cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. The greeting is also from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and is stamped in Baja Breeze and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I trimmed off the top and bottom and mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede that is also punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. For a little bling I punched a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper out with the Small Heart Punch. I love the colors and the cake. I hope that enjoyed today’s card. Eggplant Pool Congrats

Good morning everyone. How was everyone’s day yesterday? I had the Bridal Shower and it rained here in the morning but stopped around 12:30 just in time for the shower to start. There were all kinds of good food and we had fun. Today I’m posting the card that I gave Erika. I wanted it to coordinate with invitations so I kept clean and simple. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock that I stamped in Pool Party with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp. I cut a piece of Elegant Eggplant out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and mounted it to the card with SNAIL. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies and embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The main image is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and backed by a piece of Elegant Eggplant. It’s also mounted to the Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Love & Laughter stamp set has some great wedding images and I like the color combination of Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party. After the party I came home and started working on expanding my craft area so I don’t have to rearrange so much while I’m working. I’ll finish that up today and I can’t wait!
